If a newspaper were to endorse a candidate for political office, should the newspaper disclose that the candidate is a former employee of the newspaper?

Living Life BackwardsI want to live my next life backwards:

You start out dead and get that out of the way.

Then you wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.

Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.

You enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.

Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day.

You work 40 years until you’re too young to work.

You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you’re generally promiscuous.

Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.

Then you become a baby, and.…

You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions: central heating, room service on tap, and then….

You finish your life as an orgasm.

    I rest my case.

Poll Shows Americans In Favor Of Violent Ending To Rosie-Donald-Barbara SpatA just released TNOYF poll reveals that a large majority of U.S. citizens are pleased with Islamic Rage Boy’s mediation efforts in the now infamous Rosie O’Donnell-Donald Trump-Barbara Walters feud.

39% of those polled said they either “support” or “strongly support” the actions taken, while 60% said “it’s about f***ing time.”

The mediator himself had mixed feelings on the results.

“The old woman died well, with a sense of humor,” said Islamic Rage Boy. “She continued with her Elmer Fudd impressions right to the end. ‘Pwease Mistew Wage Boy, don’t kiw me!’- such spirit!

The one with the sandstorm-proof hair kept offering me money to spare him. Islamic Rage Boy cannot be bought. I shall not mourn his passing.

The large one I shall miss least. Singing the theme from Les Mis in an attempt to save her pitiful life was an error in judgment- I dislike the French as much as the next guy. Also, she kept screaming ‘You’re making a terrible mistake! I’m on your side!’. I am not sure what ’side’ she means. The ‘ill-informed, blathering, overweight, lesbian, show tune-singers’ side? I took particular joy in cramming the apple into her endlessly moving carb-hole.”

Islamic Rage Boy stated he is unsure about his next mediation assignment, but has been contacted by several people who would like to see something done about the ongoing row between Britney Spears’ vagina and her underwear.

Washington, DC (Ucs News) In a surprise move House Democrats voted to send 150,000 more troops into Iraq. House speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stated “George W. Bush is a coward and he is afraid to take the tough measures required to finish the war he started.” Pelosi went on to suggest a draft would be called to raise the required troops for deployment in Iraq.Senate Democrats also lashed out at the President. Senate Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) called the Presidents 21,000 troops “Barely a half measure” in Reid’s mind the Presidents troop request is designed to carry the war to the end of Bush’s term. According to Reid “We can’t let George W. Bush kick the can down the road for 2 more years. We have to end this.”

While the President is thinking ahead to a retirement in Crawford, Reid and his fellow Democrats plan to finish the iraq campaign in the next 9 months. Reid and Pelosi plan to have Bagdad calmed and US troops home in time to vote Democratic in the 2008 Presidential elections.

With Republicans staggering in the polls a Democratic Presidential win in 2008 almost assured. In preparation of the victory Democrats pushing to wrap up the war before they take over the White House in 2008. According to Democratic strategists winning the war should be a top priority for the newly elected Democratic majority.

Looking ahead, Democrats do not want their President elect saddled with cleaning up George W. Bush’s mess in Iraq. According to Pelosi the Voters of America have spoken “They want this war over and they think Democrats are the ones to finish it.”

“To Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s credit, House Democrats recently passed ethics legislation that included provisions making earmarks more transparent. … It’s hard to argue that this is anything but elementary good government.

Unless you are Harry Reid. The ethics reform offered by Senate Democrats contained none of these tougher earmark provisions. So Senate Republicans, led by South Carolina’s Jim DeMint, cheekily took the identical language of the House earmark bill and offered it as an amendment to the Senate version. Numerous Democrats instantly denounced it, apparently unaware (or unconcerned) that the language had been sponsored by Ms. Pelosi.

… Of the 46 Senators who voted to banish Ms. Pelosi’s reform, 38 of them were her fellow Democrats. The seven Republicans who went along with Mr. Reid included some of the GOP’s biggest spenders (Trent Lott) and Members of the Appropriations Committee, aka Earmark Central Station. When Senator DeMint then moved to have his amendment accepted by voice vote — which is customary — Mr. Durbin objected. The effect of these procedural run-arounds was to give Mr. Reid more time to twist a few more Democratic arms into killing earmark reform.”

Thanks cosmos … from the link:

Democrats, however, are finding it difficult to clean up the mess Abramoff and Co. left behind, especially when dealing with the only U.S. territory that lacks a delegate in Washington. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands’ (CNMI) government has a resident representative in Washington, a position that carries no congressional office or powers, even the right to make statements on the House floor.

For years, DeLay and Abramoff worked to block a delegate bill from coming to the floor. Legislation giving the islands a delegate has passed the House Resources Committee several times in the last few years, but former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) never placed the bill on the legislative calendar. The presence of a Mariana delegate in Congress would diminish significantly the islands’ need for a lobbyist to speak for them in Washington.

Of course, fleettwood defends Abramoff and then lambastes the Democrats for not cleaning up his mess fast enough.

I have a serious question for liberals here. Those who are pro-aborition. (I’m pro-aborition too), but just want to poise a scenario to see how far a Liberal will go.

Genetic Scientist are getting close to isolating many genes that we can identify in each individual and there is evidence that their might be a gene some people posses that makes them gay. A gay gene as you will. If this gene can be discovered before birth, would you still allow women to abort their babies because they known them to have the gay gene?

  47. J R
    Posted January 12, 2007 at 7:33 pm | Permalink

    Oh come on Joe.

    You are better than this.

This latest little wrinkle in the abortion debate is being bandied about by gas bag parsers like Rush Limbaugh. The idea being to force those in favor of a womans right to choose into a hypocritical confrontation with their support of equal rights for homosexuals.

It’s a non starter Joe. And you are too smart not to know it.

There might be a few folks in the middle who would find a place to argue here. But think about it.

A person who would abort a pregnancy because the fetus is predisposed to be gay is not likely to be looking at such a test in the first place. Neither would they be looking for an abortion. Neither is a person who has a more liberal attitude toward homosexuality likely to think to ask for such a test.

They are finding that people may be predisposed genetically to be liberal or conservative as well. Would I abort a conservative fetus? I mean for no other reason than it was gonna grow up to be a conservative? No.

But if my kid becomes a Republican I’ll disown him : )

Women do abort fetuses after finding out about genetic disorders and diseases. Many have aborted after finding out the sex of the baby.

Joe I just told you why it was a non issue.

    Let me put it simpler.

And how DID I miss this?

“Many have aborted after finding out the sex of the baby.”

They HAVE? In America? Oh I’m sure it happens. But “many”? Got a link on that?

Hows about you answer you tell us your feelings on the matter Joe? As far as I know, you don’t have any kids. Would you abort a gay fetus?

You and Rush and the folks trying to make this a dilemna for liberals are pissing on the wrong tree. Ask somone who hates homosexuals what they would do.
