Yesterday all candidates for state office as well as political action committees and party committees filed (or were supposed to file) their January 10, 2007 Receipts and Expenditures Report. These reports are being scanned and can be viewed on the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission’s web site at: http://www.kansas.gov/ethics/FiledRptsFrmsHm.htm
Many are already online.
I can’t read them all, so pick your favorite report, and analyze it, and post your “fair and balanced” report here.
We’re quite fortunate these are online and free. Only about a year ago, these reports cost $0.50/page and had to be ordered. Even the list of PACs cost $0.50/page a little more than a year ago.
Homework assignment: Find the $100,000 contribution that was used to send out mailings for Paul Morrison and against Phill Kline that the press cannot find, or chooses not to report it.
I meant to say find the $100,000 expenditure.
Sorry Lark.This ain’t grade school.You ain’t the teacher.I don’t need no stinking homework.
Whatever Morrison did to get the NUTBALL Philllll outta’ there is just FINE with me.

Olbermann is not exactly kicking ass now is he? Another example of Lib media not getting it done.
Maybe it just means that we have jobs and family and don’t have all that much time to spend in front of the tube.
Yeah, that’s it.
WSU Fans…So, still wanna play KU?
Uh, never mind.
Quote of the Day:
“A group of powerful U.S. Jews have grotesquely distorted U.S. foreign policy in blind fanatic support of Israel, and Gen. Brown deserves praise, not criticism, for saying so. As head of our nations armed forces, he sees us–a nation of 200 million people–being dragooned into a disastrous war . . . by a ruthless lobby of Jewish-American extremists single-mindedly bent on enforcing their rule or ruin policy in the Middle East.” General M.B. Twining U.S Air Force
Viva La Revolucion Blanco!!
Santiago, Is that from a personal email from High Command to you or can you cite a source for such an explosive charge? Some might think you just make this stuff up…..esp since you have ignored my previous demands for sourcing on quotations. It is one thing to attempt to make people think, another to merely render them sheep following a different shepherd. If you truly want to cause us to think, you will source your quotes, not just place on these threads like hidden IEDs.
It seems that the zionist and their errand boys are trying to provoke a wider war with Iran. According to international law any attack on an embassy or concsulate is akin to an act of war.
TEHRAN (Reuters) – U.S. troops raided an Iranian consular office in northern Iraq on Thursday and detained five employees, the official Iranian IRNA news agency said.
It said Iran had sent a protest letter to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry about the U.S. raid in the city of Arbil.
“Around 5.00 a.m., after disarming the guards they (U.S. troops) broke into the office, without giving any explanation and arrested five employees,” the official IRNA news agency reported, adding that documents and computers were seizedhttp://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2007-01-11T092439Z_01_BLA134271_RTRUKOC_0_UK-IRAQ-IRAN-OFFICE.xml

Meadowlark’s still whining about losing the elections and not having as much money? Aww.
Is that $100,000 meadowlark charges really true? Is this news?

Couldn’t find the story on cnn.
Here it is. It was buried
U.S. confirms detentions of Iranians in Irbil but disputes report of a raidWASHINGTON (CNN) — A U.S. official Thursday confirmed that U.S. forces in northern Iraq detained six Iranian officials for questioning in the Kurdish city of Irbil.
But the official disputes accounts from Iran that troops broke open a consulate gate and conducted a raid.
“No shots were fired. No altercation ensued,” said the official. “It was a knock on the door and please come out.”
The official also explained that the Iranians in question were not inside an officially designated diplomatic consulate or embassy-like building.
The official would not identify the six Iranian officials or say why they were being questioned. (Posted 8:51 a.m.)
Meadowpoop deals more in truthiness than the real truth.
maybe you cant find it because
a. yer blind. We have ample evidence of that.
b. you see what you want to see. We have ample evidence of that
c. it didnt happen
d. all of the above
Ya gotta give the poopster credit for trying though. He never gives up baiting, spinning half truths, and shilling his own writing.
Trifecta
So KFG, I take it he’s off your “A” xmas card list?
Will he recover??
“In the early afternoon, a number of Kurdish guerrillas could be seen around the building preventing people from getting close to the house and not allowing cameramen and photographers to take pictures.”
KFG- I’d rather have my legs grow together than be off your “A” Xmas card list!!
hee hee gster
he’s just another casualty in the war on christmas….
heheheheheheheheheeheheheheheeheheh
Dont worry gster. Songwriters get special dispensation.
Phewwwww!! That was close!!
FOX NEWS’ O’Reilly 2.5 million
But look at the bright side, that means that 297.5 million Americans ARE NOT listening to him.
Actually, I might listen to him.
But only to hear the tape his female producer made when he called and subjected her to phone sex while he pleasured himself (harassment).
Too bad she signed an agreement not to make it public.
Come on, Capn, cut O’Reilly some slack.Look at the great public service he performs every night with his Talking Points, helping wingnuts to learn to read.
Say a prayer for the family of Jodi Sanderholm, please.

Oh, crap, JM. Can you get them to hold off the nasties until after I get my daughter to work tomorrow? Say, around 10 a.m. or so? Thank you. There’s nothing I hate more than traveling on icy streets.
Maybe we won’t have quite the power outage problem we had last time, since many of the trees are either gone or trimmed. A week with no power is no fun.
Kristy:
1) Why are you shouting?
2) You assume that newspapers HAVE ethics. Please spare me.
3) Says you; and even if so, so what?
Have you posted here before? Your nic is unfamiliar. If not, welcome. But you’ll have to do more than throw around unfounded accusations to participate here. Folk here (on both sides of the political aisle) are pretty sharp.
Ian ignored yet another demand for sourcing.
Iam, antisemitism is a charge thrown about too lightly in this culture.
But it appears that you earn it fairly. I probably missed you posting the Protocols, but, given your adversion to anything close to academic rigor, I suspect you sleep with that libel under your head.

Doesn’t look good brother RD. I think a trip to Grocery Store might be in order tonight. It’s gonna be some nasty weather.
I was hoping one of the Global Warming people would drop by and give us some heat. heh
JM just because we have global warming, doesn’t mean we still can’t have snow. We haven’t had the snow like in years past, that’s for darn sure. But if you want to keep on the fewer snow, rain patterns.
It was a light-hearted joke Pmom. :|
Make sure you keep a faucet dripping at night (slow drip) during the upcoming freeze.
As I posted after Christmas, we’ll have cold days, even with global warming. I mentioned a cold air mass in Siberia that would send its chill to North America. My son in Fairbanks says it hit 45 below the other night. This air mass is drifting southeasterly. If it didn’t move to lower latitudes now, it would intensify and inflict even colder weather on the lower 48 later.
The Gulf of Mexico is warmer than normal, in some part due to the absence of 2005-type hurricanes that would have sucked off a lot of its heat in late summer, but there’s also an El Nino in the Pacific, so very warm air crossing Meso-America and flowing over the Gulf is enabling the Gulf to stay warm. Of note, the Atlantic off the eastern seaboard is also warmer than normal.
Last night’s low, in Dallas, in January was 56. Tonight it’s predicted to be 59. The historic average DAYTIME HIGH is 54. This is an inversion of normal weather. It’s not a “normal” fluctuation from average, it is a highly unusual night-is-warmer-than-normal day anomaly.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see tornadoes in Texas and Louisiana in the next couple of days. Kansas could see them as early as next month or in the first half of March. This doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll have a slew of supercell tornadoes in May, rather that the spring storm systems will be “phase shifted” to a month early. I think we’ll see a well-above-average rainfalls in March-May.
Let me check my Farmer’s Almanac heartlander. heh
Any way you cut it, there is a bad moon on the rise.
And most Americans just want to talk sports and watch sitcoms.
(Now were did I put that remote?)
North Dakota – they had to cancel an attempt to set a record for making snow angels. No snow. In Minnisota they canceled an ice fishing tournament. And, I hear from people in Ukraine and Moscow that is is dark and dreary – no snow to reflect the light.
Yes, Ig, something is definitely amiss. (Hope to see you make it down for the meetup)
Maple Surup industry is going to disappear in the USA because of climate change.
Talked to a buddy from Michigan the other day. About 45. First time he ever remembers a brown Christmas in Grand Rapids.
Ever wonder how the Vikings were so effective, what with all the cold weather in Norway and Sweden? Check the historical records. 800-1000 AD was a significant warming trend there. So ebbs and flows do take place. This could merely be a statistically significant natural phenom, maybe not tied to our self and planet destructive energy binge of the past 200 years. But whatever the cause, the world is getting smaller and, it would seem, warmer. Geopolitical ramifications are a certainty.
Ben, thanks, but as Twain was wont to say, I would not belong to a club that would have me as member. I received pretty rough treatment at the hands of the Eagle, no fair shake at all in the Wichita media. So partying with those Troskyites is not on my agenda.
JM, we could advise the farmers here to plant early, but the problem is, even though early sprouting would assuredly occur, this spring’s hailstorms could wreak destruction. The Siberian cold air mass ( -60 degree core) has probably 2 more “cold shots” left to send to North America in the next eight weeks.
Three nights ago it was -45 in Fairbanks. It’s rapidly warming up now (expected cold tonight -5 to +5). The normal winter cold airmass isn’t holding up. This is why the Arctic ice cap is shrinking. It’s why Chicago went down to only 37 degrees last night. It is why two weeks from now, Wichita’s lows will be in the 30’s, and we’ll see some lows in the 40’s before mid-February.
I’m not advising early garden planting. Because Kansas is a meeting ground between arctic air and gulf air, and the arctic airmass is still a force to be reconed with. But to use a football analogy, the North used to beat the South 35-10. Now it’s the South beating the North 21-14. The warm Gulf air mass is getting stronger while the Arctic airmass is getting weaker.
IG – the warming in N Europe was localized; not everywhere. This one is quite a bit more widespread.
I saw an item the other day that the seed companies have issued new planting guides reflecting the warmer seasons. My big concern here is getting through the hot dry summer.
