Maybe Jeb needs to change his last name

Speaking of Jeb Bush for president. . . . The former Florida governor rallied the conservative faithful at a conference last weekend in Washington, D.C., hosted by the National Review Institute. He argued that the reason Republicans lost last election wasn’t because voters rejected conservatives. Rather, “it’s because we rejected the conservative philosophy in this country,” he said, noting how Republicans in Congress lost their fiscal way.
Bush has some solid credentials to attempt a presidential run. Except for his last name. As Ed Gillespie, a lobbyist and former chairman of the Republican National Committee, said in introducing Bush at the conference: “If he were former two-term governor Jeb Smith, he might be in Des Moines today.”

In part Jeb is right about the GOP losing it way on fiscal conservatism, but that was hardly the real reason for the loss. To even say that is to hide from reality and try to gloss over what was happening in this country and to this country. You know Barbara and George H. said once that is was a surprise that George W got to be President. They always thought it would be Jeb, that G.W. just was not smart enough. I now wonder if Jeb has the right number of crayons in the box either!

The GOP DOES need to focus on fiscal matters, but the war in Iraq is going to be all-consuming for both parties.

As a true medieval “scourge of God,” Bush’s role is to destroy everyone around him before he himself is utterly thrown down.

Kathleen Harris has successfully destroyed herself and spent most of her dad’s ten million dollars doing it.

Jeb still hasn’t been disgraced yet. But never fear, Bush still has two more years to get the remaining 28 percent that support him to realize that he’s the

Bush’s role is not simply to discredit himself.

He has the daunting task of causing the American people to repudiate the Reagan-Gingerich “revolution” that said government does not solve problems, government is the problem.

After the Great Revulsion against W., Americans are finally seeing that their government can be something that improves their lives and the nation again.

So in a sense, he may end up being the best president ever, by virtue of showing America the error of her ways and putting her back on the right track.

St. Petersburg Times (2000)JebMiami real estate:After relocating to Miami from Texas, Jeb quickly teamed up with Cuban-American real estate investor Armando Codina. A prominent fundraiser and staunch supporter of President Bush, Codina took Jeb under his wing and eventually made him a partner in the Codina Bush commercial real estate business. Jeb, with NO INVESTMENT, would get 40 percent of the real estate company’s profits plus chances to invest in other ventures. After Jeb entered the race for Florida governor and lost to Lawton Chiles in 1994, Codina welcomed Bush back to the firm. That relationship made Jeb a millionaire, with a net worth of about $2.4-million by 1997.Water pumps:In 1988, the same year Jeb’s father became president, Jeb formed a partnership with David Eller, Broward County’s Republican fundraiser, to market irrigation and flood control pumps overseas. Bush went to Nigeria, where he pledged his father would increase aid to developing countries, according to Nigerian press reports. Nigeria received $74-million in loans from the federally backed Export-Import Bank of the United States to buy the pumps, giving Jeb a healthy commission. Twelve years later, Nigeria has yet to repay most of the loans.Golf community, IBM property:When Bush and Codina needed to unload Deering Bay, an upscale South Florida golf community that had lost millions, they found a buyer in Florida developer and major Republican fundraiser Al Hoffman. Hoffman would become the primary finance chairman of Jeb’s successful campaign for governor.Separately, in what Jeb considers one of his biggest deals as a real estate broker, his firm was hired by IBM Corp. to find a buyer for its massive Boca Raton office park. Jeb handled the sale personally. He eventually sold the property for about $46-million in 1997 to a group that included Mark Guzzetta, a key fundraiser for then-former President Bush. Guzzetta later co-chaired Jeb’s campaign for governor.Jeb said he got a great sales price for IBM. This year, Guzzetta and his partners sold the property for about $140-million, nearly three times what they paid a few years ago.

    SRS is a disaster

Education in Florida is a disaster.

This is a state where (and I am NOT making this up), you can have a special needs child, be refused for medical services, take the child to school, the school kicks the kid out for NOT having medical services to help the behaviors, the teacher abuses the kid, the parent is BLAMED for abusing the kid, the state takes custody of kid, just to say THEY can’t provide a placement/services for the kid.

If you wanna talk about screwed up, listen to families who have to live there.
