Brownback slight? Or staff slipup?

“Fifteen minutes with a hometown man who would be president doesn’t seem like too much to ask,” wrote Pete Goering, executive editor of the Topeka Capital-Journal. No, it doesn’t. But the staff of Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., said he couldn’t spare that long for a phone call from the Capital-Journal in advance of Brownback’s campaign kickoff today in Topeka. Brownback may have dreams of White House grandeur, but at the moment he still represents Kansas.

This often the case is seems, a kansan goes to Washington then never returns to here once their washington service ends. But then I would be hard press to vote for someone that his own state could not support.

Senators stop representing their States since the adopting of the 17th Amendment.

Now they are nothing more than Population Representativeswho have stars in their eyes vowing for the power of the presidency. Their audience is now the entire country, instead of their respected States.

The States has had no offical to represent them in Congress since the 17th Amendment. Only the people do. Which is sad, because Senators were suppose to Represent the interest of the States.

This is typical Brownback. I have visited his office in Washington, with appointment made in advance, and have yet to meet the man. The group of Kansan’s I was with knew he was there. We saw the group of Asian business men in nice suits with leather briefcases coming out of the back (main) office as we were pidgeonholed in the tiny conference room near the reception desk with an aide. But the Great Senator did not have time for us. We were just common constituents worried about job losses in the aircraft industry.

At least Judas gave a kiss to those he betrayed. We didn’t even get a warm smile and a handshake!

To not spare 15 minutes with the hometown newspaper when you announce for president seems a little bit suicidal to me. I just saw on channel 12 where a poll was taken of 500 Kansans and they matched Brownback with several different Democrat candidates.

In all races, Brownback won by a few percentage of votes. Even against Hillary Clinton – she got 44%, which is surprising here in Kansas. If Brownback expects to win the presidential nomination, then he needs to remember his friends back home.

Brownback needs to remember that those he stepped on going up, will be the ones he meets on the way down!

I’ve spoken with Brownback’s aides a time or two and it appears it entire office has forgotten who their priority should be. Brownback’s aloofness is apparently a prerequisite for his employees as well.

Don’t bother contacting his office – it’s a total waste of time. He has other things on agenda that are more important, like posturing for a presidential run in 2008 … get educated, Kansas, this guy doesn’t deserve to be our senator, let alone our country … and I’m a Republican.

God doesn’t do appointments and neither does Sam.Sam believes if you kneel beside your bed each night and say a few words…he will hear you and so will God.Let’s send a strong message that Sam and God need to share some face time sooner rather than later.

    Good one Jim G.

And one correction. Sam doesnt represent ALL of Kansas.

    Just the evangelical wingnut coalition.

And how did THAT work out in the last election?

I dont think he wants to take the time to visit with all those “snowflake” individual Kansans.

I watched his interview on CNN yesterday and he has nothing to say worth listening to anyway. He used many words to say nothing so it’s no loss that he didn’t take the 15 minutes. This way the hometown newspaper won’t need to try to make him look better than he is. He can give his announcement speech and make himself look bad.

Brownbutt is an ass. Between him supporting the illegal aliens and Mel Martinez being appointed CHairman of the GOP.

I need to switch parties, but what alternative do I really have?

Brownback is basically a talking head — way overbloated with his self-importance, and no resume worth considering. Someone who knew him said he talks constantly from sunup to sundown, preaching his take on America. Sorry, Sam, Kansans aren’t listening to you.

Asbestos –The center (Centrist party) is now a bigger party than the Democrats.Politically a good many people are tired of the Republican and Democrat party affiliation to special interest and only doing whatever their party requires them to do once they are elected. The Centrist party wants more of a common sense government, you are a common sense blogger, why not be in the center?Besides most of those political bozos would not stand a chance against a person of your caliber.

I vote straight ticket republican and have for a long time. I think welfare is evil, I own a shitload of guns and would gladly use them on criminals, illegal immigrants, and most hippies given the right circumstances. I think George Bush is a liberal pussy. I favor internment camps for all followers of the MFROP. Most of you bloggers here would hate me on sight, and it’s mutual.

So why do I find Brownback to be a pompous douchebag?

Hell wiseman I was tired of them in 1992. I was a Perot Voter. There is a “center” politically, but there is no representation because of the mammoth 2 parties in Dems and Republicans. The Dems are FAR from what is good for the country, and the Republicans know what is needed to be done, but ignore it.

Did you hear Sam’s announcement speech? Goodd lord, he spent a whole lotta time not saying anything of consequence.

Funny JR, even though I agree with Russell.

We have 2 parties more concerned about fundraising and elections, than Governance and the Needs of a country.

Brownback’s wife is a Stauffer, the family that used to own the Capital-Journal. Some of the family still sit on the CJ board.

If you think I am on the far right you are nuts and a Dumb C. I am a COnservative, that is not a bible banger nor a big government person, nor do I suffer the laws not being enforced nor recognised.

That is the path to continued liberty. The Far left and the Far right are 2 sides of the same coin.
