Brownback skeptical of surge option

Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., is unsure about the “surge” option in Iraq. He told the Washington Post he would favor more troops only it they were a “precursor” to political stability. “A short-term buildup in troops, if it simply is to impose military order without the possibility of political equilibrium, that doesn’t seem to me to be too farsighted,” he said. “We have got to get to some acceptable balance between the Sunnis and Shiites. We cannot impose a military solution.”

Doing a little campaigning there Sam? Last year this guy was kissing Bush’s ass. Watch this guy do his own flip flopping —on Bush.

Sam Greenback (remember that tag from your Triad scandle)you are precisely what is wrong with the Republican Party. You pander the religous extremist to extract fiancial support from them and behind theiParty and the backs the Whitehouse makes jokes of the religous right-wingers as gullible suckers that are such easy prey for money. You haven’t a snowballs chance in hell to be President. If it had not been for the efforts of Triad you would not be where you are to day flip-flopping as needed to gain support for a lost cause.

Good point fleetwood … Sam gave an opening and I am sure Bush will claim that the “surge” is prelude to victory. Of course, I wonder what he will say a year from now when we have “surged” but not achieved stability.

We’re going to put more troops in the middle of the Civil War that the Shrub is responsible for in the first place?

What does that accomplish except more of the same? If more troops are need, why not extend the Marines tour length to the same as the army?

    What am I missing?

    Dear UAreCrazy,

I can’t speak for the others, but I’ll tell you what I’ve done.

I marched in the streets to oppose the stupidest war ever.

Three thousand Americans have died, we spend about 1.6 BILLION dollars a week (most of it goes directly into Bush crony bank accounts) and the situation in Iraq is getting WORSE not better.

Everything you war supporters said was wrong. And everything we war opposers said was right.

Several more patriotic Americans who signed on to serve their country will die today for George Bush’s pack of lies while his cronies fill their vaults with taxpayer money.

Two-thirds of the soldiers fighting this war no longer support it.

Well fleetwood because that would have been inaccurate. They said it properly, what’s the matter, not catering to the propaganda side that you’d LIKE?

Sorry bud, you’re on the losing end. I support more troops ONLY IF there is a remote chance for stability. What will sending more troops do? Make the unstable Iraqi government give back what they’ve taken already?

    Yeah, that’s gonna work. NOT.
