Here’s at least one encouraging example of bipartisan spirit and civility from the first day of the new Congress: Newly elected Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., approached Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., and shook his hand. Then he asked him to get together sometime for a cup of coffee. Goode agreed.
Doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a good start when you consider that Goode had strongly criticized Ellison, a Muslim, for asking to use a Quran in his swearing-in ceremony.
Ellison’s simple act of reaching out was classy — and in stark contrast to Goode’s cheap shots.
It was also a nice touch that Ellison used Thomas Jefferson’s personal copy of the Quran in his swearing-in. As his spokesman said, “Jefferson’s Quran dates religious tolerance to the founders of our country.”

All the talk of playing nice with the Republicans is going to go straight down the tubes next Wednesday when Bush, the Sequel tries to push his Surge and Accelerate plan for Iraq.
The American public has spoken – we want out of Bush’s failed Iraqi adventure. Now, it appears that the Decider In Chief has decided to waste more American lives and more American treasure to preserve his failed legacy.
The time for bipartisanship will be over. The Republicans can stand with the Democrats against their delusional president or they can become irrelevant.
The most pressing issue of the day is the Bush War on Iraq. All of the 100 Hours initiatives have value, but the War is central to our collective future.
The next two years will be painful period for George W Bush – one way or another. He can admit that his decisions have been wrong and get us out of Iraq as gracefully as possible or he can face the consequences of “stay the course” up to and including impeachment and removal from office.
Enjoy the next five days of bipartisanship – they come to an end the moment George W Bush proposes sending more of our best and brightest to Iraq.
Let the Democrats actually get sumpin’ done, then worry about being pals with thw GOP.
Thomas Jefferson owned a copy of the Quran, but he didnt think too much of Islam as a religion.
I wonder how much Keith Ellison knows about the history of Jeffersons Quran.
He should read this.http://www.usvetdsp.com/jan07/jeff_quran.htm
snipThere is no doubt Ellison was right about Jefferson believing wisdom could be “gleaned” from the Muslim Quran. At the time Jefferson owned the book, he needed to know everything possible about Muslims because he was about to advocate war against the Islamic “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli.
snipIn a later meeting with the American Congress, the two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam “was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”
snipDuring the Jefferson administration, the Muslim Barbary States, crumbling as a result of intense American naval bombardment and on shore raids by Marines, finally officially agreed to abandon slavery and piracy.
Jefferson’s victory over the Muslims lives on today in the Marine Hymn, with the line, “From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, we will fight our country’s battles on the land as on the sea.”
It wasn’t until 1815 that the problem was fully settled by the total defeat of all the Muslim slave trading pirates.
Jefferson had been right. The “medium of war” was the only way to put and end to the Muslim problem. Mr. Ellison was right about Jefferson. He was a “visionary” wise enough to read and learn about the enemy from their own Muslim book of jihad.
Oh, and Keith used his “unclean” hand on the Quran. I wonder if CAIR knows about this?
Great research there Heckler. Know thine enemy.
The American people didn’t give Democrats control of both houses of Congress so that they would be ‘bipartisan,’ a word which, like ‘pornography,’ means whatever its user thinks it means.
The American people put Democrats in charge to stop some things from happening, and to make others things happen. The former? To get the U.S. out of Iraq, and to keep the U.S. from pre-emptively attacking Iran. The latter? To increase minimum wage. Create an affordable health care system. Get the budget and trade deficits back to manageable levels.
If Republicans want to collaborate on these items, great. If they don’t, then crush ‘em fuckin’ flat. These are things the American public wants, and it is the job of elected representatives to deliver them.
If ‘bipartisanship’ means selling out the American public in order to placate Republican whining and media truthiness, then the hell with ‘bipartisanship.’
CF–ditto.good morning
TRACY,
Indeed. Right back at ya.
And Republicans, if you want ‘bipartisanship,’ then I’ll tell you where it should start: stop calling the “Democratic” party the “Democrat” party. This is a Repuke insult with a very long history, as Wikipedia tells us.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrat_party
If the name of our party needs to be changed, WE’LL be the ones to do it. And every time the term is used on this blog, the user should expect to be called a Repuke, a Wingnut, or worse.
If Repukes want to play word games, they shouldn’t snivel and whimper like prissy little bitches that Democrats aren’t being ‘bipartisan.’
Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat Democrat……………………………………………………………………………………….

Heck, you meanie…bad boy.
Some Bush backers claim he’s not a liar, he’s just not very bright and doesn’t remember things very well. That may be true, but we’re sure Bush would not allow such an excuse in his “responsibility era.” We’re sure Bush would agree that if he’s that dumb, he shouldn’t be President. Other Bush backers claim that some of his lies are “technically correct” or “tailored to fit the audience,” or some such circumlocution. What they’re talking about are lies of omission rather than lies of commission. In lies of omission it’s what they imply, not what they say. For example,Bush told Congress and the American people that he was putting a “lock box” on Social Security. Now, it’s very clear that Bush wanted us to feel secure in the belief that he was protecting all of our Social Security funds for the future. No question, right? Yet, the very next day when his budget book was released, we learned that Bush told a lie of omission. What he didn’t tell Congress and the American people is that he would later take from $.6 to $1 trillion out of that “lock box” to cover his tax cuts. No doubt, Bush lied. He wanted folks to believe something that he knew was not true. Of course, politicians do this all the time. It’s second nature. In sum, the thing that really bothers us about Bush’s lies is that he is also a hypocrite and pretends he’s above lying. As a liar, he reinforces our assumptions about politicians. As a hypocrite, he reinforces our assumptions about his character. –
Demorat, Repugnicunt…who cares?

This thing is too slow today. I’m outa here.
15 minutes to refresh a page? Rediculous.
Oh, wook at widdle Heckwer! I hoot his widdle feewings, taking away his naughty wooood ‘democwat’ and awl!
Startlingly unoriginal of you, Heckler. But quite obliging to demonstrate how empty it is when otherwise rational Wingnut Repukes (like you, Heckler) claim to call for ‘bipartisanship.’
It’s going to be fun to watch you Repukes prostrating yourself and begging for sympathy as victims. Nobody has a bit of sympathy for you and your Repuke ilk, Heckler; everybody knows perfectly well that you’ll say or do anything if you perceive it’s to your advantage.
CF
When did you hear me call for Bipartisanship? Bipartisanship is for pussies.
Your sounding awfully whinnie and bitter this morning CF, cat crap in you Post Toasties?
Heckler,
I agree that Rep. John Boehner is a ‘pussy’. Sadly, he’s your Repuke ‘pussy’ and not mine.
“What we really expect out of the Democrats is for them to treat us as they would like to have been treated,” Boehner said.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,241535,00.html
As for the emptiness of ‘bipartisanship,’ I couldn’t agree more, Heckler. It’ll be nice to see Democrats in the House kicking Repuke ass in the same way I’ve been kicking your ass all over this blog over the last two years.
“Bipartisianship is for pussies”…that’s why women need to hold more positions of power, we’re generally more intersted in getting things done than winning. Running the country isn’t like coaching a football game with the “us” against “them” mentality, it’s should be about focusing on issues and solutions. We’ve had enough of the bipartisianship politics the last 6 years, it’s time for a real change.Go Nancy!!
CF
Enjoy your glory, for now. Just don’t come back here bitching and moaning like a typical whinnnie DEMOCRAT about fillibusters.
Chuckle… CF, who is always calling Republicans “Repukes” or worse, is sensitive when the Democratic party is called the Democrat party. A good thing to know.
How about “Dumbocrat”.
See, we can work with y’all.
Bipartisanship??? Here???
Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap Repugnocrap
The Democrats should extend to the Republicans the same level of bipartisanship that was extended to them when the Republicans were in power.
For starters, lets have a special prosecutor with an unlimited budget and access to the FBI to investigate Bush and Cheney.
Then we can proceed with variations of the rules as proposed by Frist, DeLay, Hastert and Lott.
What the Hell, why don’t we just go with the nuc-u-lar option as suggested by Senator Frist.
If it was fair for the Republicans, why not for the Democrats?
Oh, we PROMISED to be bipartisan?
Sorry, we meant we would be bipartisan just like YOU were.
Our apologies for the misunderstanding.
This entire blog is getting quite predictable and boring. The lead on this topic was about one small positive event, and the bloggers here turn it into a juvenile name calling, attack each other slug fest.
Did intelligent discourse and/or mature debate become too civilized for this blog?
Petty, immature, “nanner nanner” comments are boring. Anyone have anything creative?
raptor – I notice that the positive event was one-sided: Democrat Ellison extending an olive branch to Republican Goode. It didn’t say how Goode reacted.
What a surprise that the leftists would get into name-calling and attack mode. Some people think behavior like this among adults is normal. Act more like rowdy sports fans than mature adults wanting to talk about issues.
America haters.
DEMONcrats.
Tratiors that should be lined up and shot – Duke Cunningham (R-CA), jailed former Rep.
The Party of Cut and Run.
Defeatocrats.
Cowards, liars, etc.
Scumbag – Rep. Dan Burton describing the President of the United States.
Turd Licker – Rush Limbaugh describing Bill Clinton.
Latent homosexual – Ann Coulter analyzing the former President.
A total fag – Coulter on Al Gore.
Swiftboating, a new form of smear campaigning.
Willie Horton
Chelsea Clinton – the White House Dog – Rush Limbaugh on his now cancelled television show.
Need I say more?
It’s okay when Republicans do it, but heaven forbid that a Democrat should even dare to defend themselves.
Dan Burton – the lone dissenting vote on the bill requiring Congressmen to sign their own earmarks.
I would add to WSC’s list “dreg of humanity” – Rush describing, as it turns out, himself (drug addicts)
Yeah that 87 million dollar witch hunt into Bill Clitons personal life was real mature wasn’t it?
We progressives learned nastiness and dirty tricks from those best at it. That would be you con jobs.
Quit bitching and take your medicine.
defend …heh
Ahhh…so here it comes, “they did it to I can be nasty too” typical 3rd grade mentality.
Notice, I did not take any one side, did not blame, castigate or attack either group. I am just tired of the juvenile idoicy on this blog.
Every now and then we used to get comments from elected officials or their staff. Seems to have gone away..as most mature responsible people wouldn’t be caught dead among this morass of immaturity and name calling.
Everyone here knows that you live on the right side of the street, Raptor, so it doesn’t take much to read between the lines of your posts.
For a Republican to demand bipartisanship at this point is an amazing show of hypocrisy.
As for juvenile – it was just two months ago that YOUR president called US the “Party of Cut and Run.”
I don’t even want to hear it from Republicans, the same people who idolize Hannity, Rush, Coulter, O’Reilly? Are you gonna whine because you can’t bully us anymore…aww. My heart does bleed for you. NOT.
No reading between the lines necessary. Try reading exactly what I did say. I did not say a single word about bipartisan anything. I was simply commenting on the immaturity and personal attack nature of most of the posts on this blog. Like yours.
I hope that the Democrats can put the past 12 years of hate-mongering by the Republicans behind us but I know it will take time. Of course, the rightie talking heads are doing everything they can to keep the fires burning. That will make it difficult.
Well, Raptor, I don’t remember calling you any names or attacking you personally. I merely pointed out that it is well known that you are one of many posters that take the right-wing side.
If that is name calling, well, so be it.
What I DID point out was the Republicans are screaming for bipartisanship now that they have lost power, but they did NOT extend that to Democrats.
If that offends you, well, be offended – it’s the truth.
I think raptor tries to keep to the high road …
I’m far to stupid to even blink on my own. Someone bitch slap me again just like my grandma used to do. I would have said my mom, but well, you all know the story behind that tampon sliging tramp.
“Running the country isn’t like coaching a football game with the “us” against “them” mentality, it’s should be about focusing on issues and solutions.”
Exactly, Mary. Teamwork.
Leftist Troll! All trolls are the leftist because I say so. And I am the God of the blog!
“I was simply commenting on the immaturity and personal attack nature of most of the posts on this blog. Like yours.”
Raptor,
Without meaning to offend, I’d like to point out something. The above is a personal attack. Definitely not “on topic.”
What’s so great about “bipartisanship” anyway?
Should we compromise with Bin Laden?
Conservatives have hurt us in the last six years far more than terrorists ever have.
The only thing we have to worry about is “the common good” as opposed to their what’s good for the rich.
They had their chance. They sucked.
The only gift I want to give them is the finger.
Why on Earth would Ellison shake the hand of a racist bigoted Republican and offer him coffee? Do jews shake hands with Nazis? Do blacks drink coffee with klansmen?? What is Ellison thinking? If I had coffee with that bigot you can bet it would be laced!
The Democrats need to stop trying to get along with the Republicans and do what the voters sent them to do- STOP the war, BALANCE the budget and FIX the healthcare system
Isn’t it ironic that a Muslim extends his hand in friendship to the very Republican that was intent on making a big stink about the Muslim using the Quran for swearing in photo-op.
Now who was saying that all the Muslims want to do is to kill Americans and they are all terrorists? Oh yeah, that’s right, it was the Christian Conservative Republicans – the ones that profess to follow Jesus and his way of loving others as you love yourselves.
How’s that workin for ya?
GEE, I WONDER IF ANY CONGRESSMAN WOULD BE ALLOWED TO USE A BIBLE OWNED BY JEFFERSON?
“Conservatives have hurt us in the last six years far more than terrorists ever have.”
capn-Thank you for proving our point, again. You people do hate America and we are sick of it.
Fleet,KomradeAmrica hates America like no one I’ve ever seen. Fortunately, he’s nothing more than a blogger – has little or no impact on the real world.
“Thank you for proving our point, again. You people do hate America and we are sick of it.”
Sorry Fleet, we are sick of you and your mindless, blood-thirsty, homophobic, religious zealot, jingoistic morons that think that anything Bush does is right, warranted and acceptable regardless of the circumstances or outcome.
Fleet, we are damn sick of the enablers that have worked tirelessly to destroy the America that we know and LOVE over the last six years.
And you are one of those.
Fuck you, Fleet. For a while I thought that you were a relatively harmless old fool.
Now I know that you are a clueless bigot without a compassionate bone in your body.
Enjoy your war, Fleet, the rest of us will pay for it in the end.
The past 6 years of Bush and Republicans have put the country in the shape it is in and the voters decided to give the Republicans the boot and Bush’s approval rating is in the low 30’s? I really don’t think it is the Democrats who are the America haters – you might want to look in the mirror Fleet and see who the voters are blaming for the mess we are in.
Doing damage to one’s country in the name of some idealogy and personal gain (Halliburton profits from the war) is hating America.
Conservatives HAVE hurt us. How many Americans died during the terrorist attack? 2973
How many during Iraq and Afghanistan.
We never talk about Afghanistan in the death toll numbers.
We surpassed the 9/11 death toll back in September, for both wars.
And the casualties so so very many more. They don’t even include civilian contractors.
By the way, the death toll for our Military in Afghanistan is exponentially lower than Iraq.
And then we have the eroding of our rights, (that’s a terrorist win in my opinion).
Conservatives hate American freedoms, hate the principles this nation was founded upon. That is why they’re so willing to push us towards a fascist state.
Homophobic?
Pee,Man, I had a good belly-laugh reading that.
Conservatives are interested only in what will make them more money. The only way George W. Bush got into power was to get the Christian Conservatives all riled up about abortion and gay rights. But to bottom line is money to Conservatives and they don’t care how they get it.
We love America! That is why we want to take it back from the CONservatives who want to destroy it.
Give me a gun two bullets fleet, goofnot and Osama?
And Bush would still be looking for bin Laden!
As usual, the Idiot Twins, Golf Nutz and Fleet show up with their mindless insults, trolling and stalking, Nutz with his sick fixation on P Mom.
Have either one of this idiots ever added ANYTHING to a thread, ever? They are quick with the insults, but neither can answer a question, neither add a logic theory and both claim to be far superior to the rest of the population.
I am not sure which one is worse – Fleet with his mindless, halfwitted non-responses or Nutz with his fastasy world of superiority and wet-dreams about P Mom.
The Idiot Twins – coming to a blog near you!
DA <– hittin’ the green hard tonight
Jeez, Golf Nutz, that line was funny the FIRST hundred times you used it – just like it was humorous the FIRST zillion times you stalked P Mom.
Now, KSGolfnut, you are just a pathetic little wannabe.
It’s not nice to call names.
Biggest difference between liberals and Conservatives:
libs wake up every day whining about how the world has mistreated them, how they don’t have the same opportunities, how they deserve something from the government to make their lives adequate.
Conservatives wake up every day then go out and EARN it.
popup!”<—-” MY idea
KSGOlfnut<——knock off artist : (
KSGolfnut<—–jerk
pupup <– meaningless
More like the Conservatives wake up every morning and scheme how to get the other guy’s wealth without getting caught.
“Conservatives wake up every day then go out and EARN it.”
Nutz, that is the same horseshit from yesterday, and the day before and the day before that and the day (week, month, year) before that.
Besides the two-bit insults, that is all you EVER post.
Yada, yada, yada.
The only reason you even bother to post on this blog is so you can work on your P Mom fanstasies.
Nutz, can’t you teach your dog to post for you so we don’t have to try to tolerate your sumg, infantile attitude?
I am sure that your dog is a far better person than you’ll ever hope to be.
“It’s not nice to call names.”
You call me an America Hater and you have the fucking gall to complain about calling someone names, Fleetfuck?
I will give you this, Jerknutz, you do have a LOT of gall.
I know WClark…how does one so stupid, so unoriginal, and so full of himself get to be rich?
It’s given to him.
yep, ol’ DA is deeply baked
KSGolfnut = pompous, silly, ass.
“More like the Conservatives wake up every morning and scheme how to get the other guy’s wealth without getting caught?”
Yeah, first thing on my mind when I wake up in the morning. I want your (cough) wealth (cough).
It’s more like shower, shave and ….
Drink coffee, eat breakfast, read the paper, call my children; take a walk; tweak the 3D cartoon I’m making for my grandchildren; clean up the house; check the car’s oil, water, tires, etc.; pay bills; watch some news; clean house
and that’s a day I don’t have anything plan.
Yeah scheme…
Lucy,I’m a conservative, and I can’t think of one single thing I do to “scheme” the other guy’s wealth – other than via healthy business relationships.
WS Clark<—–insults dogs: (
KSGolfnut = much lower form of life.
I guess that I should apologize to your dog, Golf Nutz. I am sure that he hates putting up with your smug, know-it-all, holier-than-thou attitude as much as we do.
But, the poor mutt will just have to live with it until your wife finds out about your P Mom fantasies and she dumps you like a loaded diaper.
I am sure that he is a good dog (the greatest dog in history, according to you) but he has to be terribly traumatized living with a wannabe like you.
Pointing out the ones who hate America is not really calling names. It is more of an observation.
fleetwood<—–not very bright :(
“Pointing out the ones who hate America is not really calling names. It is more of an observation.”
And I hate America because I want the best for our country, not just the best for the white upper-class element?
I would have to ask, Fleetnutz, just who the hell are you to pass judgment on anyone?
Really – Why the fuck would you think that YOU, of all people, have the knowledge, wisdom and understanding necessary to judge anyone else?
Really, Fleet, just you the hell do you think you are to judge me?
I don’t worry about my wife finding out about the women I hook up with on here. They’ll put out if I flash around enough money, which is why I talk about how successful I am. I just tell her that I’m being set up by peemom. She’s really the object of my desires. I’m really hoping that I can buy her but so far she seems to have too much ethics.
God, you ARE a pathetic little man, aren’t you Golf Nut?
“And I hate America…”WSClark | January 06, 2007 at 09:39 PM
Enough said, ws
…try reading the entire sentence, Fleetnutz.
If you are having difficulty, have someone read it to you.
Jeez, Fleet, you are even more pathetic than Golf Nutz.
Typical of DA to troll me. I’ve got a typekey account now, so that should be the end of that.
Nice try, Nutz, I am not the troller. That’s your game.
Pathetic – trolling yourself to make up for your mental (and other) shortcomings.
BTW – Nutz, your address does NOT show up as a typekey account, just the usual.
Do a little research before you troll yourself and try to blame it on me.
Pathetic.
I read the sentence. At least you admit you hatred. That is the first step.
Your comment, Fleetfuck:
“I read the sentence. At least you admit you hatred. That is the first step.”
My QUESTION:
“And I hate America because I want the best for our country, not just the best for the white upper-class element?”
It is a question, Fleetidiot: that is why it has that funny curvy thing at the end of the sentence.
Pathetic, Fleetfuck, absolutely.
DA is in true form.
Folks, this is what illegal drugs do to you. Be advised.
ws-That doesn’t even make any sense.
What’s with all the name calling and bad language?
Like I said, Nutz, that drug ref was funny the first one hundred times you tried it.
What isn’t so funny is your mindless postings that add nothing to the discussion, your S & M relationship with Fleet and your sick obsession with P Mom.
Pathetic.
“What’s with all the name calling and bad language?”
You accuse me of being a traitor to my country, Fleet, and you have the gall to be offended by language?
It is ok Clark, we know the real score here. Enema cutting and pasting only a portion of your statement is a ploy right out of the Rush playbook. We didn’t expect that when we won the election that they’d bow their heads in shame for what they’ve done to this country-no. They’re going to act even more like the venomous snakes that they are, just more pissed off than ever.
We took their power and they’ll fight dirty. Bipartisanship is dead.
I agree, P Mom, but calling me a traitor is a little over the line, even for the Fleetnut.
Conservatism <– your brain
DA <– your brain on drugs
I didn’t say you were a traitor, I said you hated America. What’s wrong with you this evening? I say one thing and you say I said another. Are you OK?
Ahem
An observation here.
WS? You are a good and valued poster. Refute these two clowns and then let them jabber at each other. You’ve done nothing when you’ve bested a fool.
fleetwood?
You are likely the poorest “spoken” poster I have ever observed. Frankly you embarrass yourself in this forum.
KSGolfnut?
You bring nothing but tooting your own horn. Why is it that you need to do that?
Aside from poor dumb fleetwood who likely would embrace any friend, you are likely the most despised poster currently on the blog. No one likes you. No one respects you. You have never been anything more than an irritant.
I very much value an open forum. But were it in my power? I would ban Golfnut.
You could only hope, Golf Nutz, that your brain under ordinary circumstances would function as well as mine after a few tokes.
I have to have a few beers and a few tokes to bring myself DOWN to the level of Fleetfuck.
It takes a few more to get down to the level of golf Nutz.
“I didn’t say you were a traitor, I said you hated America.”
Hey, Fleetfuck! What is the difference between HATING America and being a traitor?
DA <– virtually incapacitated by his drug abuse.
Nutz<— Virtually incapacitated by his love affair with self and his distain for his fellow human beings.
You seem rather obsessed with my occasional use of marijuana, Golf Nutz – almost as obsessed with that as you are with P Mom.
Is there something missing in your life that causes these obsessions?
Are your coming up SHORT in some manner?
Are you feeling a bit IMPOTENT when faced with issues?
Are you a little QUICK to anger when frustrated?
Are your “friends” UNSATISFIED with your performance, at home and at work?
What seems to be the problem, Golf Nutz?
Yeah, golfnutz, you’re working hard on that golf course at the country club where your dues are written off as a ‘business’ expense -huh? Funny though, you don’t believe in the government helping anybody else out with any breaks or welfare but you sure do like them when it benefits you – right?
I’ve known wealthy people who really earned it and I’ve known wealthy people who scheme to get it from someone else. I can tell the difference. The ones that earned it dont’ brag about it. Those that schemed to get it, always brag about how much they have.
Lucy,My country club dues are not normal and ordinary business expenses, and are therefore, not deductible.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that for many people richer and smarter than KSGolfnut, they CAN write their country club dues off.
Welfare for the rich . . .
WSCLark–hehehe! funny, I’m laughing my ass off right now!
CONservatives, when I said that you people have hurt America more than the terrorists have, I wasn’t engaging in hyperbole.
I meant it.
And I think I can prove it.
Did the terrorists get us into a quagmire in the middle east that has caused more American deaths than 9-11 and killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis?
Did the terrorists suck 2 billion dollars out of the treasure A WEEK?
Did the terrorists shred our constitutional rights of search and seizure?
Did the terrorists pollute the air like there was no tomorrow and speed up global warming?
Did terrorists double gasoline prices while gov’t said “stay the course”?
And there’s so much more, but why bother with you morons . . .
But, but but, Capn’! When the conservatives say the Pledge of Allegiance, they say….
One Nation, Under God!!!!!
The commie, socialist, terra-ist Democrats don’t BELIEVE in God!!!
They must be traitors!!!
God said!!!!!
Yeah, Wes . . . when I say the pledge, I say “one nation, under GODS.”
It’s funny because everybody is mouthing the pledge paying no attention to what the words actually mean and then it’s like they WAKE UP, “hey, what’d he say?”
Well, maybe He said they were TRACTORS, I’m not sure. I was having a little smoke with Jesus and Buddha right about then, so I’m not quite sure that I heard Him right. God forbid (hehe) that I should question God Almighty about something so small, so, if you don’t mind, Jesus, Buddha and I are going to listen to a little Sgt. Peppers and roll up another doob!
Give Peace A Chance!!!!!
yeowie.
DA is seriously baked tonight
Golf Nutz, should you be in bed trying to keep your wife “happy” rather than lurking about on the WE Blog?
What’s the problem? Hard drive a few mega bytes short of capacity?
Maybe Fleetnutz can give you a “hand.”
“Legalize it–don’t try to criticise it.
Legalize it–and I will advertise it.”
Peter Tosh
Fleetnutz, when you’re with Golfnutz, which one of you is the dominatrix?
I am thinking that it is you most of the time, but you let the Golfnutz have his kicks, too.
Right?
Just count how many references DA has made about my genitalia tonight…
Dude is over-baked.
Actually, Golfnutz, there have been no references to your genitalia, just references to your lack of capabilities.
You’re just a phoney, Golf Nutz, like everything else – you have these weird fantasies about P Mom and folks concerned about your gonads.
Golfie – no one gives a good god damn about you and the fantasy world you seem to live in.
All you can do, Nutz, is make lame, repetitive insults that are sixth grade level at best, and pound your chest claiming personal superiority.
Unfortunately, Nutz, regardless of your age or accomplishments, you are still just a little cherry boy looking for approval in the neighborhood circle jerk.
And you are the only one jerking.
“Golfie – no one gives a good god damn about you…”
The effort you put into these multiple posts contradicts your own moronic claim, DA.
I was trying to think of a song that fit KSGolfnut – and I remembered this tune from Ray Davies and the Kinks from 1965. Reading the lyrics made me wonder if they actually knew our one and only Nutz. Listen in (the song is ‘Well Respected Man’) and let me know what you think….
cause he gets up in the morning,And he goes to work at nine,And he comes back home at five-thirty,Gets the same train every time.cause his world is built round punctuality,It never fails.
And hes oh, so good,And hes oh, so fine,And hes oh, so healthy,In his body and his mind.Hes a well respected man about town,Doing the best things so conservatively.
And his mother goes to meetings,While his father pulls the maid,And she stirs the tea with councilors,While discussing foreign trade,And she passes looks, as well as billsAt every suave young man
cause hes oh, so good,And hes oh, so fine,And hes oh, so healthy,In his body and his mind.Hes a well respected man about town,Doing the best things so conservatively.
And he likes his own backyard,And he likes his fags the best, cause hes better than the rest,And his own sweat smells the best,And he hopes to grab his fathers loot,When pater passes on.
cause hes oh, so good,And hes oh, so fine,And hes oh, so healthy,In his body and his mind.Hes a well respected man about town,Doing the best things so conservatively.
And he plays at stocks and shares,And he goes to the regatta,And he adores the girl next door, cause hes dying to get at her,But his mother knows the best aboutThe matrimonial stakes.
cause hes oh, so good,And hes oh, so fine,And hes oh, so healthy,In his body and his mind.Hes a well respected man about town,Doing the best things so conservatively.
Dave Davies – 1965
No effort at all, Golf Nutz, you supply the ammunition, I just pull the trigger.
Beg to differ Nutzie, country club dues are deductible if they are proven to be a business expense. You were bragging that your country club dues were well worth it because it brought you much more business. Therefore – the dues are a business expense – ever hear about marketing budget?
For all your bragging about knowing everything, you really should brush up on alot of facts.
What difference does it make. Any way one can get ones tax bill lower is a good thing.
Lucy,As usual, you’re wrong. Country club dues are deductible only to the extent that they are material to the business. If I use my club for anything personal, I have to note that “portion” of use as non-business and therefore, not deductible.
Any applicable entertainment – golf fees, food/beverage, etc – ARE ordinary and necessary business expenses. Naturally, I track those expenses.
To keep track of all the times I use the club (plus my wife and kids – btw, you should see my son hit a driver…nice right to left draw..long..) would be a waste of time and would probably result in a denial should I get audited.
Shut up, Dave.
WSClark – Golfer is concerned about his booze habit so he has to project onto a much less severe occassional use of grass.
noname, nah. I have a cabinet full of booze at home, and I rarely drink any of it.
So, if occassional boozing is NOT addiction then why would occassional grass use be addiction? The professionals in substance abuse do not agree with your conclusions.
noname,marijuana is illegal.
My personal vice comes in the form of a white powder. It isn’t cheap but it sure fires the neurons.
golfer – that does not make it addictive nor does it make an occassional user an addict.
