		<description>I wonder what would happen if I got pissed at my employer and walked out? I&#039;ve given money to the Salvation Army. Would they come and help me pay my bills?

I think they should not and stick with helping people who really do need the help. Not with helping people that choose to be in trouble.

		<description>I cannot confirm or refute your story SOB.

Um....sounds like good sense to me.

Boeing workers on strike are eventually Boeing workers with a better contract and higher pay. They remember assistance in a time of need and give back to the Salvation Army.

		<description>Yes, charitable contributions are great. Good for the receiver and good for the tax deduction.

I&#039;m leary of Salvation Army though myself. Years ago I read they gave services to striking Boeing people. I have a hard time giving to a charity that gives to people on strike by choice. I have no data to back up what I read, but I remember reading that way back then. Perhaps the info was wrong. I hope it was but I&#039;d like to know for sure either way.

		<description>Childrens Home and Anthony Shelter are also good entities to help. St Anthony Shelter sells wonderful Angel Ornaments as a fundraiser. They can be gotte at Cath Chrities downtown; also at the parishes. I like the Ornaments as gifts for out-of-towners on my list.

		<description>Phillip..

This is a GREAT idea, because these are the folks that later on end up homeless on the street and then we have a bigger problem!

Joe..

Thanks for being part of the solution. It takes every government and church charity working together to really make a difference! If this season is about nothing else, it should be about having compassion on your fellow man!!

		<description>Sounds good. On the website it says that the applicants are screened by Salvation Army personnel. That&#039;s cool.

I e-mailed them to ask if they accept Paypal online. I guess I can go through the motions and input the donation information and see where it takes me for donation processing. But I didn&#039;t want to make a blank entry on their database without a donation.

I guess I can drop by a check. :)

&#039;tis the season for giving.&#039;
