Brownback’s biggest fan?

Former Democratic Kansas congressman Dr. Bill Roy has a commentary on today’s Opinion pages in which he says that Sen. Sam Brownback has “a very real chance to get the (GOP presidential) nomination primarily based on his advanced political skills, superior intelligence, people skills and proven knowledge about how to get ahead politically.” And Roy thinks that if Brownback wins the nomination, he has a shot to win the general election. Does Roy know something that most other observers don’t?

No, Smiley, Dr. Roy doesn’t know what day it is. I’ll hit the PowerBall jackpot before Brownback even gets nominated by anyone but himself.

And Smiley, proof your headlines. It should read “Brownback’s ONLY fan”.

Ahh, yes, Sam Brownhole. It wasn’t but the day after he formed his exploratory committee that I started getting fundraising or petition letters with “Brownback for President” in the return address area for delivery. His mailing list sucks, though, so I guess he’s not really close to his supporters and just has an out-of-date GOP mailing list.

Who gives a crap what Bill Roy thinks. He’s Democrat, for Gods sake. He should worry that his side is going to pick the wrong candidate in ‘08 and blow it.The dems, by all rights, should win in ‘08, but not with Obama or Hillary. Happily, they are the front runners.

Hey they brought the old Brownback picture back!

Brownback is THE man for evangelical anti-choice open border amnesty Republicans!

He is showing you in the picture how many votes that translates to!

I would not put anything past the GOP. After all, they were the ones that ran Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush – twice!

That right there doesn’t show too much sense.

And I think Obama is intimidating the GOP and that is why they are smearing his name at every chance they get. Better get to used to his name – he is going to be a power source of some kind in 2008 and a bigger power in 2012!

Even the curmudgeonly partisan Bill Roy understands what an effective politician that Sam Brownback is. Although I don’t see Brownback as the Republican nominee, (I think it will be Mitt Romney) I take his assessment seriously.

He was a one term congressman in the early 70’s. I’m amazed he’s even still alive, let alone issuing press releases, no doubt from “the home”. He’s got to be in his 90’s. As I remember, he was no “spring chicken” 40 years ago.

What a laugh – Republicans putting down someone for being old. Look at Ronald Reagan – he was as old as dirt!

I would like to see Obama president. Not that I know he is just a blank canvass that niave Democrats project their unrealistic desires on to him. (Basically an emotional appeal), I think he would make a fine President (on a logical standpoint). He is more conservative and he’s not a leftist. That is all that matters. He’s a conservative Democrat like Bill Clinton was.

Other than that! Funny how Dems say that people are trying to smear Obama, when you just smeared Brownback. Why is it ok to tag Republicans with vile and name calling and it’s not ok for the opposition to do the same to Democrats?

Sunny! If McCain gets elected, he would be the oldest President ever. Do you consider him “old as dirt?”

Obama/Clinton 08Mitt Romney is another GWB. Brownback is another Bill Frist. McCain is another…well, he’ll die during the campaign, poor old dude.Guliani has a crack. He isn’t a complete fucking idiot like GWB.Brownback is just plain scary. His style of Christianity really only seems to work for him and a few nutjobs like Etheredge and Terry Fox.So, Obama and Clinton will take over – not sure which one will be pres.GWB has screwed up so bad that the GOP should just raise money and invest it until ‘12.

Why do Republicans hate Barack Obama so much? This man has not been in the Senate that long. What could he possibly have done to the GOP to cause just hate for him?

Perhaps it is because he is a minority man that can relate to the minority voters? Perhaps because he is intelligent and can speak without stumbling over his words? Perhaps because when he speaks it is with common sense and not all the legal mumbo jumbo?

The man seems to be sincere in what he believes and I, for one, am proud of him because he says what he means and he means what he says. He does not live in Washington, D.C. His wife and kids remain in Illinois and he commutes to Washington, D.C.

What a breath of fresh air – no signs of any sleazy politician here. Perhaps that is why the Republicans don’t like Obama – he is not “one of them”.

Actually Lucee! Your whole statement is a fabrication. You only wish Republicans hated Obama. There is no proof nor is their any merit to that.

Actually many Republicans like Obama and many voted for him. Nobody hates Obama. It’s only a myth in your mind, because you hate Republicans so much that you have to lie and justify a hate by the Republicans that isn’t true.
