It sounds like a joke, but it isn’t. A California company that helped build the border fence in San Diego was busted last week for, you guessed it, knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. Golden State Fence Co. and two executives pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a combined penalty of $5 million.

I remember NPR did a story about a US Border Patrol Agent that was an illegal alien.

IN Kansas the asbestos workers MUST apply using a SSN. Most all of our asbestos removers in Kansas are illegal aliens. There are 1400 some asbestos removers registered with the state. I bet if you ren the SSN’s and the names 75-80% would be fradulent. That is a violation of Kansas State Asbestos law by “fradulently attaining certification”. This is for removing asbestos a known carcinogen in buildings, not for mowing and weedeating a lawn.
KDHE has simply leg go of the regulation of asbestos in Kansas. However, Kansas IS by default “assisting the illegal aliens in getting documents to allow them to work”, and should be turned into ICE. That is right, Kansas had assissted probably 900 illegal aliens to get certs illegally to work in this state and take that work away from Kansans.
Why? In the 1988-93 time frame the hourly rate in Kansas for Asbestos Removers was $13-22 an hour. I know because I did it. now it is anywhere from $8-12. Wage erosion due to illegal aliens IS the main problem, let alone all the laws that are skirted.

A farmer in Kansas needs 50 workers. Fills out a form and drops it off at the post office. It is delivered to the nearest border. The American consulate gets the notice and brings in 50 willing workers. They are finger printed and give DNA samples.
They are bussed to the border. The farmer picks them up (signs for them) and takes them to his farm. At the end of their work, he transports them back.
They pay taxes. If they are convicted of a crime, they go home never to return.
All illegals not on work pass are rounded up, finger printed and give DNA samples. They get a free trip across the border. If they are found here illegally again, they too can not use the guest worker program.
Stringent fines for those that knowingly hire illegals. Workers have very little freedom of ‘privacy’ in that their backgrounds and SSN’s can be thoroughly screened.
Problem solved?

Have any of you ever been notified by IRS that you had not claimed income from a job in Arizona when you lived in Kansas for the full year? Well, I have.
When I wrote the IRS demanding a photocopy of the W-4 withholding form for the signature, all I got back was a form letter stating that the IRS determined this was not my unclaimed income and thanked me for my time.
I received no photocopy of theW-4 withholding form for the signature. I think it should have been my right to see exactly who signed for my SSN in Arizona.
So, even when a problem with an SSN being used by an imposter is reported, it is not really taken seriously. We need enforcement of the laws already on the books. And don’t stop with just fines – give prison time! Not just to the illegals but to the employers knowingly hiring these illegals.
Immigrants can already get their own official Social Security number as long as they have the proper documentation which can be obtained by hook or crook in Mexico.
Regardless of my personal views on the necessity of this kind of worker, a guest worker program, whatever. I do not understand how there isn’t a way that illegally used SSN’s aren’t caught right away. I can just see Pepe applying for work as a farm laborer. Mr or Ms HR person “Ok Mrs. Nusbaum we’ll have you start work Monday.”Really how hard with the technology we have is it to get together some kind of a national database of these things?

Have National Guard units establish work camps on the border. Any illegals caught are sent to these camps. There they are well treated, housed and fed. THEY build the border fence.

Illegal use of fradulent use of a SSN regardless of the need is a felony. The IRS should have passed your AZ claim on to the Socical Security OFfice, AND they should have let you know so you can take civil action on the person stealing your ID number.
