It’s too bad that a 5-5 tie vote prevented the Kansas State Board of Education last week from changing the travel policy to prevent lame-duck members from taking out-of-state trips on the public’s tab. At least there is some interest among moderate board members in taking up the issue again once their new majority kicks in next year. Then again, taxpayers can always hope that in the future, board members will exercise better judgment than to repeat the acts that prompted the proposed reform — Connie Morris’ two postelection trips, including one to Washington, D.C., after her final board meeting last week.

She was just picking a fight with me and thought I would cave in to her position. Good riddance. I hope, in some minute way, that incident helped defeat her attempt for another term on the state BOE.
Feared? This woman has the audacity to think she is feared? Does she not realize the people of her district are sick and tired of listening to her warped religious views, her blatant misuse of taxpayer funds, her non-stop attempts at infusing her same warped religious views into the political arena and her total disregard for anything even remotely intelligent.
When it comes to the political arena, people of her ilk should be well prepared to withstand the rebellion of the voters when they are lied to, belittled and ignored. People like her are neither needed nor wanted in control of any political process.
Feared? I think not: the voters spoke loud and clear. She needs to get over herself. Remember the bible: pride goeth before the fall, and pride is certainly something she is guilty of, and she has indeed fallen. That doesn’t take a bible to figure out.
By the way, can you forgo any more portraits of her in any future threads? That smiling, lying face has used up its laugh-track.

It scares the hell out of me that the same religious right nuts that got Phillkline back on the teat will find a way to do the same with her.
It scares the hell out of me that neither the spineless SBOE nor the spineless legislature will do anything about this wasteful misude of public funds. The bottom line is that stopping this clear misuse of public funds is not in their PERSONAL interests. Screw our interests. Our job is to just keeps laying the golden eggs for them.
In those senses, “fear” is probably a good word. How about “feared and loathed”?
Seeing Connie Morris state that she is “feared” makes me think that she is laboring under the delusion of grandeur. Of course, many of the Religious Right hold themselves up on the right hand of God and will be personally helping God pass out that judgement on Judgement Day.

Serving yourself, while performing public service, seems to be the doctrine today. No One wants to stop it, because that would close their opportunity to benefit for their service!
Politicans, have been given a license to steal. It’s all a big brotherhood, to protect the integrity of the position. Which translates to: “I’ll cover yours and you cover mine.”

What does Ms. Morris, plan to share with the BOE, that makes this expense so important?
Really, It’s a free trip, at taxpayer expense. Serves no purpose. It’s authorized by a group, that plans to do the same, when their term expires.
