The Eagle had a picture in the paper today of President Bush, the first lady and brother Jeb. They were at a rally Monday for Charlie Crist, the GOP candidate for governor in Florida. So why wasn’t Crist in the picture? He decided not to attend, preferring to campaign elsewhere.
We’ll find out soon if the GOP retains control of the U.S. Senate or House or both. But regardless of the election results, President Bush has to be concerned about his ability to lead during the next two years when candidates from his own party don’t want to be seen with him.

“Heckuva job you’re doing there, Georgie!”
Hmmm, I scanned 12 Florida newspapers and saw nothing about this non-issue. Why is it an article in a Wichita Kansas blog?
Yeah I know JM.Damned democratic supporters post some innuendo about the GOP.Good thing they are the values party and would not stoop to that level.
JM – because they don’t want to do one about Tiahrt, his ties to Abramoff, and his refusal to debate.
I voted for Tiarht, but let me tell you if he took bribes or lobbyist money, he would be finished in my book.
I don’t know why Dems think Repubs don’t have a conscience or can think clearly about an issue.
But, here’s the deal. Tiarht is in a position of a power broker now and could do much better for Kansas than let’s say Garth McGinn.
That’s a very good reason to keep him in office. You may not like his politics, but if he throws a heavy hammer, what the hey…
JM – maybe. If the Dems take Congress his pork-power will diminish.
JM,
‘Now,’ of course, being precisely what is up for grabs in today’s election. Ol’ Todd is going to have to morph into a completely different political animal should he become part of a Congressional minority. The days of sucking up to Tom Delay and getting pork for the district are now history.
Shit guys, let’s get real.Pork, yes and lots of it.Bringing it home?Nope. They don’t even bother.Goes straight to the “private sector” that bought it.
And with his former employer mostly gone from Wichita …
You made a mistake JM.
Hopefully, McGinn will pull and upset.
In a dem House, a lockstep bush lackey like Tiahrt will have no voice. I cant wait for the first time Nancy Pelosi tells him to sit down and shut up.
The Voters at a Bush rally is a given. Charlie Crist was smart. He needs to go where he can gain more voters. On the street were the centerist, independents and undecided are.
McGinn will win.The Repubs will keep the House. The chances are the same. None. You can hope in one hand and shit in the other. Only one will fill up.
Fifty bucks says the Repubics lose the house.
Put up or shut up.
Oh, you’re saying that there’s no chance the Pukes keep the House.
Okay, we can agree on that . . .
CapnUnderpants-If you are speaking to me, please re-read. The ‘Pubs will lose the house and McGinn will lose, also.
The GOP would not be jeopardy today were it not for shrub’s treasonous globalist and pro-wetback agenda. The Ron Paul/Pat Buchanan faction in the GOP need to purge the leftist/globalist neo-con filth from the party, forever!
Viva La Raza Blanco!!!
When lobbyist are writing the legislation for earmakrs, it’s the fat cat that’s getting the pork, the constiturents are at the bottom of the swine pecking order.
Tiarht has done nothing but line his own pockets – he learned well from his buddy Tom DeLay.
With the House going back to the Democrats, I agree that Tiarht will be powerless and then we’ll see how he really works well with others.
I pray Bush will come and campaign for Kansan Senators in the next election!
