Make Morris the last lame-duck traveler

The Kansas State Board of Education rightly will review — again — the travel policy for its members, in light of the plan of defeated incumbent Connie Morris (in photo) to spend a taxpayer-subsidized week related to immigration and education in Washington, D.C., after her final meeting as a board member. The policy, which was reviewed last year after another Morris abuse, still apparently doesn’t prevent such lame-duck junkets. Even so, Morris should have canceled all travel plans as soon as she lost the Aug. 1 primary. She was mistaken when she said last week that had she opted not to take two trips in her final three months in office, her actions “would have said I slacked in my duty.” As fellow board member Janet Waugh of Kansas City, Kan., said in seeking another review: “Sometimes what is legal is not necessarily ethical.”

Once again ethic rules must be changed for a corrupt conservative. Prevent crime by simply voting these nuts out of office.

Conservatives by and large – with a few exceptions – are hypocrites, and that is why they lost the last election. They profess to hate government spending, but spend like drunken sailors. They profess to be in favor of less government, but create new agencies and invade the private sector with new regulatory mammoths like No Child Left Behind. They profess to love and obey God and the Bible but sin left and right, and rake in as much government money for themselves as their arms can carry like Congressional salaries that have undeservingly skyrocketed, and no-bid government give-away contracts. Connie Morris and many other of these hypocrites have been revealed and defeated, and many others are being indicted and sent to the pokey. Good riddance. They should not be allowed to continue cleaning out the public coffers until the last moment when they are sent packing. Stop them!

You all should read Cal Thomas’ article in the sunday paper opinion pages. It deals with an important shift in the conservitive movement.

What Connie Morris is doing is totally unethical but perhaps not illegal. Enough laws can’t be written to anticipate all the get rich schemes that people find who are looking.

Many people are in prison for stealing less than Connie Morris is unethically taking from Kansas taxpayers. Hopefully she will finally skulk away, never to be heard from again.

She obviously doesn’t care what the people that she was elected to serve think. She’s amazingly narcissistic. Good bye, Connie. Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

But . . . but . . . don’t you little people realize Connie was SAVED and is now above us all, who are all going to hell. She can do no wrong.

Cal Thomas wrote in his column today about Jim Wallis and the Sojourners Magazine. What I got from the column was the fact that Cal Thomas was trying to align himself with Jim Wallis who is actually trying to do some good in his role as a preacher and Christian by putting into action when the Religious Right has tried taking over political power and corrupt money.

I don’t see the Religious Right movement changing anytime soon. These people are hellbent on being the deliverance of God’s judgement on everyone. They see their mission as being ordained by God himself and if you doubt that, they will tell you that God himself spoke to them.

I question anyone that tells me that God speaks to them and tells them they are right – aka Pat Robertson?

Connie Morris is just the typical Christian Conservative hypocrit that would rant and rave if a Democrat was doing what she is doing but when it is her getting the free trip, then hell yeah!

That’s why I never trust anyone that has to scream in my face that he/she is a Christian.

Taxpayers should be allowed to “CRITICALLY ANALIZE” Morris’ expenditures. Most likely, any description of her travels she submits will be “biologically, genetically, mathematically, chemically, metaphysically and etc. ‘wildly’ and ‘utterly impossible.”

In other words, her account will be just another “age-old fairy tale,” or a “nice bedtime story.”

    “She’s amazingly narcissistic.”

Bingo! Mary. You only left out the generous helping of Borderline Personality.

From this book review of Connie’s autobiography:********************************************************************Why Individuals with serious personality disorders should not write books, September 26, 2005Reviewer: C. B. West (Albuquerque,NM) – See all my reviewsThe book is a badly written attempt by a narcisstic, borderlinepersonality disordered woman to do a “Charles Colson”–at the time the”Devil Made Me Do It”.The “Devil” made her pose nude but she fought him back by “…never again by posing that way.”This woman is now supporting Intelligent Design in her state.I cannot image why I was asked to review this piece of utter trash.********************************************************************

What I want to know is – what are we going to do when we don’t have Connie Morris to kick around anymore? Will life be as good and satisfying? Yeah, I think it will be better.

Kelly, that was a MAGNIFICENT post.

I agree wholeheartedly. If you shake hands with a wingnut religious conservative, you better count your fingers afterward, ’cause they are likely to have stolen at least one!

Keep in mind that when an elected offical registers for a conference and reserves a flight and then does not win their election, there is no refund for the conference and the flight is not transferable. Lame ducks probably are a waste of time to go on these trips, but do you want to spend twice as much for the new elected person to go?

truthiness, IIRC, the topic of at least one of the meetings Ms Morris is attending would likely not be of interest to anyone else, newly elected or otherwise.
