Be grateful for those who serve

Americans are divided about the war in Iraq but should be united in gratitude for the men and women serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Most of us will be enjoying this day with our families because of their willingness to be away from theirs.

I for one am grateful for those who serve. Regardless of who you are in the military, the cook, the cop or in the infantry, your service is valued.

If you wear the uniform, rest assured there will always be a plate set out at my dinner table for those people in uniform that servce.

If you are reading this and in the military and need someone to email, use the email assigned in this blog. I will correspond with you and just talk if that’s just want you want.

As a former ‘lifer’ I understand what it means to be in other countries and have shots fired in anger at you.

I am thankful for all the terrific young people that sacrifice this time in their life to serve their country.

I am very proud of those who serve. My heart swells with pride every time I see one of you in uniform.

I remember you and respect your honorable service.

Everytime you see a man or woman in uniform you should take a moment to go up to them, shake their hand and say thank you.

Why would I want to do that sts? Say “thank you” for what? They are just doing the JOB they signed up for. The entire idea that the military is “protecting” us form the terrorists is moronic. The military are just puppets of bush and the industro-military complex. Personally, I have nothing against the military, when it is is used in the proper way. Iraq is a joke and the people in the military or being used and unfortunately, killed. Bring ‘em ALL home NOW!

bushsucks is a gift. He’s only saying what the rest of the left thinks. Pitiful, really.”I support the troops, but I don’t support what they are doing” is the kind of double talk that the American people see through and will not trust the libs to defend this country.

I hope every soldier is safe from harm today. I wish we would pull out of Iraq and concentrate on Afghanistan. Our soldiers were put in danger by splitting our forces between two wars: one necessary, the other not.

The best gift for soldiers this holiday season, is to use their sacrifices wisely.

fw you are a teacher right? I find it amusing that a person who has a hard right viewpoint would be in a career field that is:

    1. considered liberal2. Is union represented3. Are government employees4. Teachers generally support the NEA considered a terrorist organization by the Bushs.5. Cannot be easily terminated6. You have never served in the militaryIn many conservative circles you are considered a socialist a leftist.

“the kind of double talk that the American people see through and will not trust the libs to defend this country.”

You might want to check the election results again, Hotwood.

Turns out the libs pretty much kicked ass. In one county a 72 year old Democratic candidate DIED before the election and still beat her Republican opponent.

Face reality. The American people have already rejected what you people stand for.

    Get over it.

    Hotwood is a teacher?!

    Holy mackeral, that’s rich!

Don’t worry Hotwood, we libs will protect KPERS for you. Nevermind that you support companies pulling the plug for THEIR employees pension funds so the very rich can get much richer.

You’d scream bloody murder if it happened to YOU, wouldn’t you hypocrite boy?

There’s CONservatism in a nutshell. As long as I got mine, everybody else can go to hell . . .

I am not a teacher. Where did you get that? If I was a teacher I would be getting paid $1,000 per week and then bitch about it. The average teacher salary is just that, but all you hear is that they are under paid. Hogwash!

    Well, well, well….

Happy Thanksgiving to each and all!

We all have much to be thankful for today, including our men and women serving in the Armed Forces. Let us all hope and pray that they will be home with us soon.

I have much to be thankful for – my three childen, my wonderful granddaughter and the newest addition to my crew, my eight day old grandson.

I am thankful for this great country of ours, even though I hardly think that our president is worthy of this great nation.

I am thankful that the clock is still counting down towards the end of his term.

Most of all, I am thankful that I live in a country, that with few exceptions, is populated by good and decent folks of all races, colors, creeds and orientation.

    Thank God for America!

I would like to thank Apophis for his service to the community as a teacher.

Just in case you forgot here’s the terrorist blurb about the NEA.

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/EDUCATION/02/23/paige.terrorist.nea/

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Education Secretary Rod Paige called the National Education Association a “terrorist organization” Monday as he argued that the country’s largest teachers union often acts at odds with the wishes of rank-and-file teachers regarding school standards and accountability.

Paige later issued a written release saying that statement, made during a conversation with governors, “was an inappropriate choice of words” but reiterated his criticism of the NEA and its Washington lobbyists

As many of you already know, one of our regulars here, Nathan, posts from Iraq, the desert nation where the “fun” never stops. Please take a moment to say howdy and wish him well. There is also a regular yahoo group set up to keep in touch:

Well said, WSClark. Our troops are also members of families, with hopes and dreams for their children and grandchildren, and the safety of Iraquis and their families. I hope everyone is safe today, and every day, and that peace prevails.

This is indeed the message of the vast majority of Democrats in this state and country. Many of us do not think the Bush Admin. has a remote clue as to how to make these wishes come true, but join with me in praying that the new Democratic leadership in Congress will show us the way. We need to give Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Reid a chance to blaze a new trail in foreign policy that all of us can be proud of.

    Hey Rage!

Thanks for remembering Nathan. The yahoo group hasn’t been getting too much traffic. Nathan has been emailing to a list. This weekend I promise to post some of his Iraq pictures to the ‘list’.

From his emails he is doing OK. But they all go to ‘mama’ so I’m sure we don’t hear everthing!

Our immediate neighborhood has adopted him and his company and I’ve been sending him packages fairly regular. If anyone wants his address to send a card or something, email me privately.

    Rage,

I keep forgetting about the Yahoo Group. I will have to go there more often to talk with people.

I have mainly been using my gmail email account with updates.

    Thanks again for everyones support.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I spent my day working in the armory for a bit then attending a Thanksgiving ceremony followed by an question and answer session with the Secretary of the Navy then my section went to get Turkey together.

I ate too much though. We had shrimp cocktail, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, rolls, corn, cake, pie, blah blah blah…

    Anyhow, I am stuffed.
