A new U.S. move to hit Kim where he lives

Sure, Kim Jong Il can threaten the world with his nuclear bombs, but the next time he wants a new Harley, he’s going to be sorry.
Since diplomacy and threats don’t appear to be working, the Bush administration is proposing trade sanctions on the sort of luxury goods Kim is known to covet: stuff like iPods, Rolex watches, plasma TVs and Segway scooters. And, yes, Harley-Davidson motorcycles — hard as it may be to picture the diminutive Kim astride one.
The sanctions would be coordinated under the United Nations. Most officials agree that Kim is unlikely to suffer much, given the reach of the global black market, but the symbolism is appealing. And with North Korea, symbolism is about the only tool we have.

All right. Kim has gone way too far now – Rolex, iPods – okay – but no Harley’s. It’s time that Bush got serious.

Let’s bomb Kim’s a$$ back into the Stone Age.

Whoops, his country is already in the Stone Age. My bad.

Segways?? That means Bush will only have bicycles to fall off of.

But what about all the NK influences we enjoy – ice, nice highways, fasting, adjustable basketball goals, the Flo-bee, privacy, desire for closed borders, our not-so-great leader is son of former not-so-great leader, we all would like to order the death of someone we know, no body hair, drill ceremonies, ancient secrets, nuclear bomb, fear of the chinese….the list just goes on and on.

Kim Jong can just buy all that crap from Pakistan, just like he did his nuclear materials. Oh wait, Pakistan is our ally that aids terrorists who kill Americans. I suppose I wasn’t being very patriotic not supporting good friends of Bush.

For one, no sanctions can even begin to be “coordinated under the United Nations”. It is an irrelevant organization. For two, the “reach of the Black Market” includes his country’s Nukes. For three, the “symbolism” is NOT appealing. Unless you want to find yourself a-pealing yourself off the sidewalk when North Korea does strike. And, for four, “symbolism” is NOT the only the only tool we have.Hey Knadler! My wife and I argue about who loves who the most.Do you and Scholfield fight about who is the bigger Lib? It’s a tie?

    Peckerwood–

    Take a pill.

Knadler’s post was neither lib nor con.

It was basic information with a little attitude thrown in.

Man, the election really rattled you people, didn’t it?

    Hey, it’s just the beginning.

    Get used to it.

I do wish he’d do something about his hair.. Oh and at least he is wearing something “normal” in the way of glasses now.. hahahaa

Oh well, except for Kim Jong-il and the government.. North Korea looks pretty nice from the pictures I’ve seen.. Of course they were probably select areas so as not to show the impoverished parts.

    *shrug*
