At least one seasoned Republican political analyst thinks Hillary Clinton is a “formidable candidate” who could win the 2008 presidential election.
Then again, maybe Vice President Dick Cheney is just hoping she’ll run. Cheney was handicapping possible Democratic candidates Tuesday on Sean Hannity’s radio show.
The veep was bearish on Barack Obama, the two-year senator from Illinois, saying, “I think people might want a little more experience than that, given the nature of the times we live in.”
In Cheney’s case, some would say experience is overrated. But for those cynics, he did have some encouraging words about his own political plans for 2008: “If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve.”

Can we at least say a collective “Thank God for small favors!”. The only ones wanting Cheney to run is a Democratic Presidential hopeful.
And he stole that line, I suspect uncredited, from William T. Sherman, Civil War hero when folks were trying to draft him to run for president.
I just love it when some idiot touts his 20 yrs experience in any given field, when the fact is that everything they did during that time was FUBAR.
The only thing Cheney and pals care about:
One entry found for hegemony.
Main Entry: he·ge·mo·nyPronunciation: hi-’je-m&-nE, -’ge-; ‘he-j&-”mO-nEFunction: nounEtymology: Greek hEgemonia, from hEgemOn leader, from hEgeisthai to lead — more at SEEK1 : preponderant influence or authority over others : DOMINATION2 : the social, cultural, ideological, or economic influence exerted by a dominant group
The problem the GOP made was not getting Cheney to step down after the ‘04 election. He could have used the health excuse or more time with his family, anything. Then we would not be running in ‘08 without an “incumbent”.’08 does not look good for my boys.
Hotlick,08 – is all Gore, baby. This country is so waiting for the change. Are you reading Woodward? My god, what a clusterfuck.
Gore? I would say bring it. I would be more afraid of many people before him. Do you think he has gotten that pesky home state problem fixed?
Bush has made Gore more appealing.I don’t want Hillary because of the division she will bring.I like her, but.I would love to have Bill working the white house again.Hell with it….bring on Hillary.
Hillary would be great, too (for my side)
hotlick, (and others)
what is it with you and “your side”, why is it you vote republican anyway? What brews this discontent in you for the “other side”.
Personally i cant stand either party, i think Bush and Gore are idiots. Hillary annoys me and Cheney is a bigger crook than the Enron CEO’s.
Tony,No matter what you say you won’t understand. But this article says it all. It will make you understand where they come from. http://politicalheartland.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-to-spot-baby-conserative.html
Definitely interesting Dekota…
I would say that in Kansas that is somewhat right, but I think its as much of a generational and tradition type thing, “I vote Republican because my parents did because their parents did” type thing.
I have run into so many people my age that 1) don’t vote, because they don’t give a shit or are sick of the politics or 2) vote what their parents told them to, i.e. vote party lines.
Republicans, Democrats, I would like to see both parties flush down the crapper, neither one of them represent any of their voters. The trouble with people voting Republican or Democrat is they are kissing the ass of the name of a party and too stupid to realize that your loyalty to the party is like thrown away toilet paper.Be aware of the fact that you are not a member of their club unless you have millions of dollars, that they will not respect you, your opinions or views.Try being an independent thinker; vote as an independent, unaffiliated, swing your loyalty like a carrot in front of the horse’s face.Never make a pledge to what your alliances are and you will keep them dancing for you.
I love Dick.
I find it amusing that Cheney, alone with all the rest of the GOP top brass, flocks to right-wing radio shows. Haster was in one of them recently claiming that the entire Foley thing was a left-wing conspiricy.
Ben,
It’s a healthcare issue when Cheney goes to right wing radio shows. Can’t having the gent experiencing a tachycardia issue on air if they get his goat about an issue.
Anne Coulter for President — the anorexic Republican whore — I wonder if she’s Bushs’ Monica Lewinsky?
Tracy
You might want to reword that!!
Wiseman — where have you been? I’ve been touting the idea of independent thinking here for 6 months — those that subscribe to a specific party show they are unable to think for them selves and need the pap both parties try to feed them —
Now how can we organize independents into a real political force — organizing us independents has got to be an oymoron.
I hope everyone notices that Bush/Cheney/Hastert/et.al. have thrown their lot with the Limbaugh/Hammity/O’Reilly/Coulter bunch. They entire GOP top brass has gone extreme right wing and has abandoned the middle ground that once was an important part of that party.
At the KS level this has happened too; that is why Morrison and others have left the Party.
“If elected”

Wiseman: I thought you were a little presumptuous with the name, but your last post was, well.., wise.
