Sebelius gets another top rating

Kathleen Sebelius has again been named a top governor by a national magazine, this time by one that focuses on business entrepreneurship. Of 26 governors up for re-election, Sebelius was one of only four to receive Inc. magazine’s highest four-star rating — signifying “a true friend whose policies will benefit businesses over the short and long term.” As with an earlier top ranking by Time magazine, some of the achievements cited by Inc. were more the doing of the Legislature than Sebelius. But Sebelius won praise from Tom Devlin, co-founder of Rent-A-Center, who told Inc. that Kansas governors traditionally haven’t been that pro-business. “Sebelius is the first one who realizes the value of entrepreneurs,” he said.

“A true friend whose policies will benefit businesses…” Give us specifics–what were / are the specific policies?

Having the luck to be a govenor during a robust economic period IS NOT a policy. Having a legislature kill your proposed tax increase–a sure way to slow down the economy–IS NOT a policy.

“Sebelius is the first one who realizes the value of entrepreneurs.” Really? First? What an idiotic statement.

Hey Roscoe – Tom Devlin is a succesful businessman. Not bad for an idiot! How about you? Maybe you should hold a news conference in front of your thriving business and tell us why you would be hiring so many more people under Barnett.

Sebelius knows she is a democrat in a republican state. She is a politician and she has higher aspirations. So she has acted in that regards and not blocked the legislature when they have proposed good things for the state. And it has paid off for her. However, the fact is she is a liberal democrat and it is the legislature that deserves the credit.

She proposes a property tax increase, sales tax increase and income tax increase as the Governor and fortunate for us she loses that battle. But in an election year she jumps on the chance to give businesses a tax break.

Does that really sound like the kind of Governor we want? Put more tax on the poor but make sure you give more tax breaks to business. She is nothing more than a politician.

Low employment rates, stock market setting records, state revenues up, aircraft plants crying for workers: yup, economy is tanking.

Money and success makes one immune to idiotic STATEMENTS? Okay, Ted Turner, Tom Cruise.

Plenty of rebuttal but no enumeration on Kathy’s specific contributions.

Maybe successful businessman Devlin’s comments are correct, not idiotic. You should hold that news conference and rebut him.
