As you might have read, The Eagle editorial board made the news. A group of local Kline backers held a short press conference in front of The Eagle building Thursday afternoon. They claimed that the editorial board knows but hasn’t reported that attorney general candidate Paul Morrison reached a settlement in a 1992 sexual harassment lawsuit. Not true. The Eagle knows of no settlement and has found no evidence of one. In fact, attorneys for both the plaintiff and Morrison have said there was no settlement. Morrison also said there was no settlement.

Making a mountain out of molehill.
Morrison said something about an employee being “attractive” after he had been drinking, and he got hit with a complaint.
I thought this was the kind of political correctness that Repukes hate.
IOKIYAR
Truth be revealed - I bet there are many so-called religious conservatives in the state who want to keep it a secret that one of their children had an abortion, or perhaps that they themselves had one. It’s easy to talk the talk but much more difficult to walk the walk. The same goes for homosexuality, alcohol consumption, smoking, watching porn, etc. When Kline starts thinking of invading med. records, and has the disposition of a retarded ass, the religious folks know it’s time to get back to the center. When the religious folks can all agree that it’s better for the country for them to gather and hate on Sunday’s only then this state and this country will be much better off.
True, Jim. Every one of us has skeletons in our closet. The problem many of us have is in the hypocricy of many on the right.
A Do-As-I-Say-Not-As-I-Do attitude just doesn’t cut it in politics, not unless you’re willing to admit to your mistakes and a truly repentent in deed.
The first sign of desperation is when someone starts attacking the media.
Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven!!! Please stop using generalities and stuffing every conservitive into a tiny box - we’re not all like the Phelps Family! For people who complain about how all the relgious folks do is hate, I find it really funny that all you do is sit around and hate them by attacking them.
If liberals do not want the Attorney General to look into the rapes of fourteen year old girls maybe liberals should propose laws to legalize fourteen, thirteen or even twelve year old girls to have sex.Come on liberals, stand up for the rights of fourteen year old girls to have sex. Maybe if you stood up for fourteen year old girls right to have sex with a sixty year old man you would finally get that big youth vote push you’ve always dreamed about not to mention the dirty old man vote.
I’ll stand up for the right of fourteen year old girls to have sex when old male Republicans stand down on their pro sex-with-teenage-boys platform.
And regarding the issue before Dick let his ‘thoughts’ spill out, you know, the one about PHILL KLINE’S SUPPORTERS LYING TO GET MEDIA ATTENTION, all I have to say is “A Republican making shit up? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, COULDN’T BE”
Dick,
Since you are so in the know about this topic, maybe you can tell us why Kline only wanted to look into abortion records for the information on rapes of young girls, but not into birth records. Or was that next?
I see djb finally chose a nic, and one that wasn’t someone else’s. I suppose that’s progress.
Ah, Dick?
Good name for you.
“Assh*le” would be better though.
Maybe no settlement but an agreement? Perhaps the woman ran out of money and could no longer pursue Morrison as he had the know-how of how to lengthen a case out with continuances.
Annoyed- when the certain Christians stop trying to dictate everyone else’s lives with their “superior morality”, then I’ll quit attacking them and their idealistic hypocricy.
There should have never been a lawsuit when all Morrison said was that he thought she was attactive in the first place.
Do you know how many men have said that to me? I would understand and be appalled if there was any REAL harrassment, but he apologized and it stopped like it should have- and that’s the story by HER account.
Annoyed, what makes you so sure you’re “forgiven”? That’s the Christian arrogance that others find so hard to stomach. Even Mother Theresa said once that “if you think you’re going to heaven, then you’re not humble enough to go”. She was the kind of Christian I could respect.PMom, I’m jealous, do you have any idea how long it’s been since a man told me I was attractive? Not only would I NOT file a lawsiut, I’d probably send him roses!
Well Pmom I have always been attracted to your mind!
Dick what crimes were commited? When was a crime reported? How do you know a 14 y.o. was having sex? what is her name? When did she have sex? That is the different between Phil Kline and I. I would answer the questions then act upon them.Kline searched for the crime then try to answer the questions.
He would kick down the doors on every home and only then see if there was a justifcation for kicking down the door. That is not law enforcement, that is a Police state.
Saw a very distasteful kline commercial tonight, they are getting desperate.
Dicklet,”If liberals do not want the Attorney General to look into the rapes of fourteen year old girls maybe liberals should propose laws to legalize fourteen, thirteen or even twelve year old girls to have sex.”
Maybe if you’d watched this issue, you’d have known that the original subpoena wasn’t about underage girls having sex, it was about intimidating women who might be seeking abortion services. No underage girls were named originally, that was only dragged out as an excuse after everybody landed on poor Phill for invasion of privacy.
RDWhen a child is born rather than aborted, the DNA evidence is not destroyed. Many abortions happen specically to destroy the evidence of statutory rape. The DNA of a live child can be tested at anytime for such evidence. There is a huge difference here.
p-mom “roses”
We discussed this type of issue in employment law and the general conclusion is that as long as he didn’t “act” on it there was no case. As a female co-worker pointed out, we cannot have a sterile workplace environment. As she said, if she complimented me on my looks should she be hassled for it? (I told her she would have to get new glasses!)
I ask myself this question: How would I feel if a man said that to my wife? And if it is as reported I would feel fine about it. And, I would likely do it myself in the workplace. WE ARE HUMANS! We need to loosen up a bit.
Paul - I think you make a valid point. Therefore it would seem reasonable that a Court order could require DNA testing in cases where an underage girl is pregnant. I think this could possibly be a part of an overall counseling and treatment program for the girl - in such a case she will need it.
Thanks Ben.I will try to agree with you sometime soon!lolPaul
Paul - one thing about me is I “calls ‘em as I sees ‘em” and don’t give a damn about “politically correct” - no matter the topic. As I have said in another thread some time back I would like to see pregnancy testing done someplace “friendly” and not necessarily at a “clinic”. That is why I financially support alternatives to abortion. I may be “pro-choice” but I am not “pro-abortion”
Paul,
Just a question so I can better understand your view and meant honestly.
When did DNA testing come into the equation where Kline is concerned? I don’t recall him mentioning it, but I also wasn’t hanging on every word or news bit.
Political Mom,But why do you have to attack all of us because of what a few have done? Why does everyone have to use such stereotypes and generalities? I don’t walk around calling ALL Democrats/Liberals stupid, tree-hugging, adulterers!
Mary,What makes me so sure that I’m forgiven is that the Bible tells me so. It says that if I believe and confess Jesus Christ as my savior, I will join him in heaven. My point in making the comment that “Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven” was to say that Christians aren’t perfect and we know it. The majority (and yes, I know that there are many so-called Christians that don’t fit into this category) of us don’t believe we’re perfect and don’t judge everyone else for how they live their lives and I’m sick of all of us getting called names because of a few bad examples. Any true Christian knows that we’re all sinners and the only way we’ll get to heaven is to have faith in what God tells us. And that is what Mother Teresa meant when she said the quote you gave – that NO human can/should have the arrogance to believe that they will get to heaven through they’re own actions or on their own merits – we can only get there through God’s grace.
Wow, glad to see I am not the only one who pisses of the christianists.
hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee
Nice to know they’d be trotting out their usual “we aren’t fred phelps” response.
Premptive? heheheheheh
Just the usual knee jerk response.
The funny thing is, the more they say they aren’t like phelps, the more they sound just like him….
My response was not “pre-emptive.” And yes, that is how you spell it - if you’re going to try big words, at least learn how to spell them Ms. Farm Girl. I was responding to the fact that others were making comments about Christians being hypocrites and etc.
I will grant the fact that my comment didn’t have anything to do with the issue originally posted, in fact I don’t know anything about that particular issue because I only recently moved here so I don’t know all the history behind it. I’m just trying to stand up for the decent people out there! I’ve been reading this paper and these blogs lately trying to learn more about the area and the upcoming elections but I’ve quickly become disgusted with your negative attitudes and cruel, demeaning comments about everyone but yourselves. You have become just like those so-called hypocrites and hate-mongers that you discuss. Get over yourselves!
Oh, and by the way, I wasn’t pissed off till now!
Yeah, we could tell you weren’t pissed off from your nickname.
Annoyed and pissed off are two completely different things - but then again, maybe that’s just those of us who aren’t soul-less jerks…
