FYI: This blog set a new record for page views last month: 129,220 hits. That’s a 54 percent increase in monthly hits from the start of the year — and an amazing total for a blog. Thanks again for all those who visit and those who post their comments.

    Acknowledge a great post. BRING BACK WEblog excerpts and not just put your headers in the Eagle. Show OUR words on your pages.

    Perhaps the eagle should institute some sort of login ID/password process to prevent a ‘troll’ from hijacking a persons name/email addy.

    BEN, that’s the purpose of typekey.I never say anything worth being trolled.

    You, however, may want to use typekey, if you are stating anything that you do not want hijacked by trolls.

    It is also worth mentioning that the story of Immanuel Baptist church and its members is getting told here and by many of those members. This forum is making it possible for them to tell a story that would otherwise go unknown. THAT is the best of blogging.

    Isn’t this the second time we “increased” by 50%?

    I know we have readers. Occasionally one of them speaks up.

    Hey Eagle? How about going back to the practice of publishing some of our comments on the opinion pages? You guys used to do that.

    I even have an interesting idea for a feature for you. This would be excerpts of a debate where one poster TOTALLY destroys another posters arguement; or busts thier facts or just busts their chops. I bet that would get even more people reading us!

    Are we #1 yet?

    Ian,Your statistics are presented in a manner as to convey the fallacy that blacks commit crimes against whites specifically because of their race and thus, are themselves, racists. I’m not saying that racially motivated crimes against white people by blacks is an impossibility. However, your source fails to distinguish racially motivated crimes with petty crimes.

    e.g. black burglar breaks into white household motivated by greed, steals furniture.

    Notice how greed is a universal attribute Ian, and not one that rests solely within the character of black people. Your myriad quotes by ignorant men who blame darker skinned people for their faults while wholly ignoring their own shortcomings are laughable since such men believe themselves to be blameless.
