Now Mel Gibson has really done it

So much for Mel Gibson being the Hollywood darling of the religious right. “The Passion of the Christ” director first went on his notorious drunken, anti-Semitic rant. Now he has compared the Mayan civilization depicted in his new movie to the United States, which he suggested was in decline. “What’s human sacrifice if not sending guys off to Iraq for no reason?” he asked.
Conservative radio talk show host Michael Medved responded: “If these anti-war comments are the beginning of an ill-considered, organized campaign to get back into the good graces of the Hollywood establishment that gave him the Oscar for ‘Braveheart,’ so he can show he’s not different from them and march arm-in-arm with Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon, there will be a great deal of disgust from the people who have enjoyed Mel’s movies in the past.”

Just because Gibson made The Passion of the Christ did not make him one of the Religious Righties. It was just a movie people!

Gibson has every right to say whatever he thinks. That is called freedom of speech. The problem here is that the Religious Right folks don’t want anyone to speak but them.

Most of the hollyweird jews are in favor of the war iraq because it’s good for isreal. As such, I doubt Mel will be back in the good graces of the anti-Christs anytime soon.

No. I was a huge fan of Gibson’s movies ever since the first Mad Max and Lethal Weapon. Nobody gives a damn what Hollywood thinks anyway so why would anyone think that the political ideologies of actors are gonna turn people on off? Let’s leave Hollywood to what it was meant to be, a sphere of entertainment, and not politicize the damn movie business. We have enough political ranting by the WEBloggerheads!

Makes me wonder why anyone ever listens to these Hollywood types anyway. After all..this is a group of people who get paid a huge amount of money to play make believe. They live in a pretend world.

Entertainment is just that. It does not bestow any wisdom on these actors.

Unfortunately many people do listen to hollywood type. They confuse the persona they play when they are acting. Acting is pretending. It has no basis in reality. It isn’t the people you see but the character that they are playing. In reality they have little character. They live with wealth and privilege isolated from reality. They are very poor choices for guidance.

Who cares what Hollywood people think about politics. They pander to the bleeding hearts that think all problems can be solved via love and understanding.

They want us to give up our SUVs while they fly private jets across the country to go to dinner.

Hollywood types know that the only thing worse than bad press…is no press. Most will do/say anything to get their names in the headlines.

As long as we keep using the meaningless made-up definition of “terrorist” instead of the proper words “angry men,” { which correctly describes Iraqis } then understanding what and who we are fighting is unclear. These angry men, which we are fighting, are not defending their religion, they’re defending their country.

Mr. Bush’s term “Jihadist” or “terrorist” simply does not reflect the facts. Therefore evaluating this “war” and killings is painting a picture which may suit Mr. Bush’s deception, but does not exist in fact.

Think about it: Who is terrorizing whom?

And at the cost of nearly 3 billion dollars a week and 25,000 American soldiers dead or maimed and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and maimed, now is not the time to be mislead by Mr. Bush and his well-established misuse of words.

Add to all this, including the destruction of Lebanon, the havoc wreaked on the US economy by gasoline prices, Mr. Bush’s policies are sordid consortium of nonsense.

America, in dollars, can not afford to reinvent the Middle East to suit the Jewish only State of Israel.

This ridiculous “project” has been doomed from its inception.

    This needs to stop immediately……today.

You know, even if they are actors and make their living by playing make believe, they are still people capable of making their own decisions. There are some pretty smart people in the entertainment industry. To simply put them down because of what they do is shameful. Like us, they have the right to their opinion. And, like us, if they can use whatever influence they have to spread that opinion, power to them. You don’t have to listen. Anymore than I have to read that idiot Cal Thomas the Eagle insists on running on the op-ed page. My eyes just slide right over him and his rantings.

But the word terrorists scares more than angry men. The only thing Bush and his cronies have relied on has been scare tactics. They have no real plan to get out of Iraq until they are in control of the oil. That is the bottom line. Even the cover of helping Israel is really second on the list. It’s another scare tactic they use to keep the sheeple afraid and beholding to Bush and Co.

But if we torture and kill them, won’t they then be justified in doing the same to us?

Golfnuts: “As a millionaire living in a gated community, that’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

People like GoPNuts are perfectly willing to shed OTHER PEOPLE’S BLOOD in this war without end.

“at the cost of nearly 3 billion dollars a week and 25,000 American soldiers dead or maimed and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and maimed”. Ed, are these facts or gross exaggerations? Was it “angry men” who attacked us on 9/11? the USS Cole, WTC 1993, etc… Maybe you would call them terrorists if they killed an innocent member of your family on 9/11. You ignore the fact that these angry men want to kill all Americans even the liberals. They want to you to convert to Islam or you will be killed. That’s the very definition of terrorist; “The systematic use of terror especially as a use of coercion.” What are your plans to get us out of Iraq? Do you have any solutions or just critisms? Do you have any real ideas? Let’s hear them.

I see these insurgents in Iraq as fighting for their country not some terrorists looking to kill anyone that does not convert to Islam. Those are two different issues.

Terrorists that flew into WTC were doing so as a reaction to our foreign policies. Then Bush and his cronies decide to invade Iraq. Two different issues.

Let’s not forget one of our Neo-Con leaders, Pat Robertson, who tells his followers that we need to kill certain foreign leaders in the name of God. Isn’t this promoting death because they are not Christians?

Would Pat Robertson be labeled a terrorist for promoting this killing?

Bravo! Every single person out there is human and is not going to perform every task perfectly or make all the right decisions. How about you quit crucifying every action of other people until the day that you stop making mistakes or wrong decisions. No one is infailable(sp) so get over it. The Plan is to leave.

When watching this video, notice the Israel soldier select the right-sized rock, then start crushing the upper spine of a Palestinian boy laying on the ground, which will make the boy a quadriplegic { the boy will have no feeling below his neck, nor will he be unable to move his arms or legs }.

That soldier had to be taught which part of the spine to crush { notice he beats the spine from the back then slightly to the side }.

In the above post, those bomblets were rushed to the Israelis from the US, as they had run out of the ones which we had already shipped { the estimate of the numer of bomblets which must be found in Lebanon is now over one million }.

Not everyone can do something to change this war. But there are more and more Americans who are waking up to what is really going on in the Bush administration.

This blog is just one way to field out different opinions about a variety of subjects.

No one person is going to be the answer to the mess we are in but then again, how else do people find out different opinions? Certainly not from Fox News.

I have often hoped that our government would provide an explicit definition of who are enemies are in this “war on terror.” The terrorists seems to be how they are called. How do I recognize one? Are gang members terrorists? Are republicans? How about Isrealis? Can anyone give me a plain definition of who we are fighting against? I want to fight our enemies too, but I want to be sure who they are first.

The Hollyweird Jews, like most in the United States, are Jews as I see it not spiritually but socially. They will scream “anti-semite” at the top of there lungs, but won’t support Israel and do not support the war in Iraq. The funny thing I thought about the whole Gibson thing was most of what he said (or what I read) was true. All the wars in the middle east are because of Israel (and the United States support of it as an independent state). Most of you have argued that fact as well, both in support and against of the US stance. That doesn’t make me or any of you an anti-semite by any means.
