The problem is there is no public outrage or meaningful demonstration of our disgust with our government and the self serving politicians WE HAVE ELECTED. I so wish I could find the passage of the North Vietnamese general who talked after the war about how the public response in America was why they continued on the way they did. Why they left the table in Paris just before Nixon let loose the B-52’s.

Actually, Ken, the one thing (and it is only one) I respect about Tiahrt is that he ALWAYS writes me back. I’ve always begun my letters with how I’ve never voted for Tiahrt in all the opportunities I’ve been given and how I will never vote for him.

For example, when he was supporting Clinton’s impeachment, I asked wasn’t it true that Clinton’s salvation was dependent upon his asking for forgiveness from God, and not what some right wing partisans thought was appropriate punishment for the president. He agreed with the first part, but went on to say the government also had a role to play in Clinton’s punishment. Kinda contradictory, but seemed to aptly outline his position.

This is particularly hypocritical considering that WE used UN sanctions against chemical weapons to justify our invasion. The UN also outlaws incindary chemical weapons like napalm.
