President Bush picked a timely point to emphasize during his United Nations address today — that the United States respects Islam and seeks peace and freedom for the Middle East. His strong words for Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the Sudanese government’s role in the Darfur crisis also were welcome. The question is whether Bush’s appearance can move other nations to act decisively on either problem. Considering how off the mark Bush’s pre-Iraq war speech to the same body turned out to be, his credibility at the United Nations remains a problem.

Bush claims that he supports democracy but he refuses to meet with three of the four democratically elected governments in the Middle East (Palestine, Lebanon, Iran).
He only likes democracy when they do what he says.
“some nerve”… Bush has in going to the United Nations,an organization he has nothing but contempt for.
He has lied to them, sent others to lie to them, used them as scapegoats, and then when in a pinch he somehow, always has the nerve to ask for their help.
He has spent six years trying to dismantle, and destroy the ability of the UN to be a credible and effective organization.
Imagine the nerve to appoint John Bolton as the leader. Imagine sending Colin Powell to present phony satellite photos. Remember his spook the world into removing Saddam speech…. not enough time for inspections crap.
Throughout the last six years, the United Nations has seen performance after performance from Bush and his administration, and they know first hand that pretty much anything that comes from the mouth of Bush is just cheap lip service, and that they will always come out on the bad end of the equation.
Seems remarkable that after all of the lies and all of the misreprestations the United Nations would actually allow him on the premises. The only thing Bush has left is his title.
Just maybe if editorial boards across the United States would take a serious look at his lies and his crimes he wouldn’t have that anymore either. And instead of just another try to justify the inept…a real blog describing his deceipts and disgraceful representation would certainly be more fitting. It is time to start writing the reality of the mess Bush has made.
There is nothing realistic about using Bush and Welcome at the UN in the same phrase.
“We respect Islam.”
The government of the United States should have no opinion of religion one way or the other.
Ian doesn’t respect Islam, and he’s a US citizen. I do respect Islam and I’m a US citizen.
Our government shouldn’t have anything to say about Islam or any other religion.
Good post, Cin.
The UN has been abused so much by the Bush administration that it’s hard to imagine they take him seriously.
The United Nations is the one with the credibility problem, not to mention the corruption and nepotism problem. Any of you wise guys ready to turn over the war on terror to the United Nations?
This Iraq war was created by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Why should the UN have to clean up their mess?
If Bush had been a real leader, he would have waited until he formed a coalition before going to war. Instead, he and his cronies went in by themselves thinking it would be cakewalk.
And now he says we have nothing against Islam. For 6 years he has told the world that Muslims are the axis of evil.
Just because the man uses certain words does not make what he says the truth.
meanwhile, in Iraq …
Gen. says U.S. may boost forces in IraqLOLITA C. BALDORAssociated PressWASHINGTON - The U.S. military will likely maintain or possibly even increase the current force levels of more than 140,000 troops in Iraq through next spring, the top US. commander in the Middle East said Tuesday in one of the gloomiest assessments yet of how quickly American forces can be brought home.
Gen. John Abizaid, commander of U.S. Central Command, said military leaders would consider adding troops or extending the Iraq deployments of other units if needed.
“If it’s necessary to do that because the military situation on the ground requires that, we’ll do it,” he said. “If we have to call in more forces because it’s our military judgment that we need more forces, we’ll do it.”
Abizaid said that right now the current number of troops “are prudent force levels” that are achieving the needed military effect.
His comments came as U.S. political leaders continue to face declining public support for the war in Iraq, as they head into the coming congressional elections. Abizaid, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Peter Pace are expected to meet with members of Congress later this week.
Late last year, military leaders had said they hoped to reduce troop levels to about 100,000 by the end of this year. But Abizaid said Tuesday that the rising sectarian violence and slow progress of the Iraqi government made that impossible.
“I think that this level probably will have to be sustained through the spring,” he told military reporters. “I think that we’ll do whatever we have to do to stabilize Iraq and Afghanistan and use the military power of the U.S. to do that.”
Abizaid cautioned that the solution to much of Iraq’s violence - both sectarian and insurgents - is not necessarily “throwing more American units at the problem.”
Instead, he said it is vital that the Iraqi government improve the political and economic conditions in the embattled country, as part of an effort to get the “angry young men” off the streets. And he said there will be more emphasis on the U.S. military teams that are training the Iraqi army and police forces.
There are currently 147,000 U.S. forces in Iraq - up more than 20,000 from the troop levels in late June. Rumsfeld extended the one-year deployment of an Alaska-based brigade in July, as part of the effort to stem the escalating violence in Baghdad.
Abizaid said Tuesday that there are no plans to further extend the deployment of the Alaska Stryker brigade.
‘Prudent force level’ when you have to scavenge troops from one area to bolster another, is that a prudent force level?
It’s unfortunate that the UN doesn’t simply treat Bush the way he has treated them–with contempt.
They come from civilized countries . . .
CR,
Bush has never said that Muslims are the axis of evil.
Steve,
The military is constantly shifting forces. It is usually called strategy.
And as usual we have the typical can’t win argument from the left.
Bush doesn’t have enough troops in Iraq!
flip/flop
We should bring our troops home, we call for immediate reductions in numbers.
The usual no matter what Bush does he is wrong tactic from the left.
Nathan, beg to differ but yes he did mean Muslims are the axis of evil.
How can Bush go the UN and act like he really wants their help?
This is the same man that thumbed his nose at the UN and the rest of the world. Wasn’t it Bush that said “if you’re not with us you’re against us?”
For the leader that keeps saying he is a uniter not a divider - he had better start showing that trait and soon. He only has 2 more years left.
Bushies will never admit they were wrong about George W. That’s why they like his “stay the course” theme.
That way Bushies do not have to think about anything and they can just go on and repeat the same talking points and bully people into thinking they really know what they are talking about.
And if bullying doesn’t work - humiliate and be condescending. That is so mature.
CR,
I see you are changing your statment now from Bush said to Bush meant.
So which is it?
Did Bush say Muslims are the axis of evil or just mean Muslims are the axis of evil.
What proof do ou have of either?
Or what do you plan on changing your statement to this time?
Mr. Bush, why don’t you try to remove your shoe and use it as a gavel? (Hope somebody catch the joke…)
Add to all the war issues the rarely told stories of war profiteering. And our republican led congress refuses to investigate. It is sad that there was even a comment from some idiot blogger saying they had no sympathy for the troops and he was glad to be profiting from this illegal war. It is in business best interest that the war continue. And in this administrations “liking” Islam - they continue to help their business friends make exorbitant profits at our soldiers and taxpayers expense. They have sold away any moral high ground they had in waging this war.
See: Iraqforsale.org
Heres an idea. Let’s proclaim September 30 the last day of Bush Bashing.
He didn’t stop 911 after 7 months on the job. (Clinton had 7 years)
He hasn’t gotten OBL. (Who cares someone else will take his place)
He attacked Irag, when Iran and North Korea were bigger problems (so we wouldn’t be hearing from any of you had he done that?)
He lied to the public. (a politician, LOL)
Well I’m sure the list goes on.But really, WE GET IT.You all hate Bush, got it.You all hate he got us into this war, got it.We’re there now, just hating Bush will not make that go away.
So declare your independence day, make September 30, the last Bush Bashing day.
Starting October 1, start discussing and pointing out all the great things on the Democratic Agenda that will turn this country around and back on the right track.
Share it with the rest of us. Tell us how the Majority House and Senate Dems will do it.
SHARE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AGENDA, NO MORE BUSH BASHING
I was wondering how they knew that the bodies that have been found in Bagdad recently were tortured.
Then I heard it on CNN yesterday that they could tell because drill’s had been used on the bodies, starting at the feet and working they’re way up the body.
Hmm, I thought maybe they could tell that they were tortured because they found underwear on their head.Shows what I know.Good luck “talking” with these people.
WELCOME GENE!I agree with part of what you’ve said.I wish we would have stayed in Afghanistan. Now that we’re in Iraq, (bash, bash), let’s move forward.Get enough troops and enough support to get r done. What? We’re out of troops? (bash, bash)Now what Gene?
Gene–
I have a better idea. Let’s make Sept. 30 the last day for Bush-shilling, that is the endless litany of excuse-making and rationalizations for the Worst President Ever.
Enough is enough.
After Sept 30, Bush-shills will no longer be able to say “Clinton was worse” and will have to hold Bush accountable for the horrible catastrophes he’s created.
BTW, Gene, using electric drills for torture was an old practice of Mossad intelligence agents.
You might want to educate yourself a little bit about what’s happening over there before you ASS ume that you know who’s doing the torture and who’s not.
Well there you go Tracy, NOW WHAT?
You tell me. The Dems are going to be in power here in a few months, tell me what their plan is.Why are you not shouting it from the rooftops. You’ve bash long enough (6 years) tell us the plan!
TRACY,
We are still in Afghanistan…
How many more troops do we need in Iraq, how should we deploy them, what specialities should they have, what amount of assistance do you think they will bring (cost/benifit ratio)
Lets see you actually present an argument instead of simply calling for more troops.
Plenty of eyebrows were raised by the body language Monday between President Bush and the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah. When the crown prince arrived, half an hour late, Mr. Bush greeted him with what the Associated Press described as “a warm embrace and a kiss on both cheeks.” Then the pair were photographed holding hands while walking through a field of bluebonnets.
At this Al Jazeera site, you can see Bush holding hands with Abdullah and kissing him with Condi looking on proudly.
It’s rare that one sees photographic proof of the leader of the free world LITERALLY KISSING UP to a tin-pot dictator so he can line his pockets even more . . . but that was before WORST. PRESIDENT. EVER.
Thank you torture expert Capnamerica.
I’m sure that Mossad patented the procedure and anyone else who may use it will be punished by a fine.Uh huh.
So the insurgents in Iraq have decided that be-heading is their preference and would use know other means. Got it, thanks for the info, you are to on top of it. Way to share.
Nathan–
The Bush administration should appoint a non-partisan (HAHAHAHA!) blue ribbon panel of military experts and Mideast foreign service people (HAHAHAHA!) to devise a plan to stabilize Iraq.
That would be a minimal first step.
But WORST. PRESIDENT. EVER. isn’t going to do that, because that would be rational.
Nathan, your own Generals have already presented arguments and plans that are NOT being followed.
Gene, the Democrats not only have a plan, but they’ve been distributing it for quite some time now.
Gene, you ignorant slut.
You nor I have any idea who’s torturing whom in Iraq.
You just ASSume that anytime a tortured body is found in Iraq, the “bad guys” did it, not us.
It’s called “begging the question.” Look it up.
And if you don’t want Bush bashed, don’t defend the nincompoop.Ha.
Capnamerica,You obviously do know who is torturing “over there” Have you called Amnesty and told them that the Israeli’s are in Iraq, UNINVITED and are torturing people and killing them, 100 to 200 at a time. Why have I not heard this on CNN.
Sorry Capnamerica, I take that back you may be right about the whole Mossad angle. If they find people wandering around “over there” wearing underwear on their head and singing Red Hot Chili Peppers songs, we’ll KNOW that it was the Americans.
OMG, I just saw that last week at a frat house across town. OOOHHH I better call Amnesty International.
TRACY,WEBSITE OR LINK PLEASE.
I have been hunting for months.
Capnamerica,
I think it is safe to “ASSUME” that it is not us drilling holes in peoples bodies.
Do you honestly think anyone else did that to those people CapnAmerica?
TRACY,
Which of “my” Generals has said that?
Seriously Tracy,
Website or Link PLEASE.
I looked at DNC, Bush BashingMy county, Bush BashingNeighboring county, Bush Bashing
I think it is safe to “ASSUME” that it is not us drilling holes in peoples bodies.
Do you honestly think anyone else did that to those people CapnAmerica?
*****
Why? Do you think that our side or our “allies” (such as they are) are just too civilized to do it?
Hey, if we were civilized, we wouldn’t be there. If we were civilized, we wouldn’t have flattened Fallujah in revenge-killing and used white phosphorous on children.
Besides, how can you believe anything from this administration after lying us into the war to begin with?
Why are you not ignoring the persons who are pro Bush and just talking about the Democrat agenda, I don’t get it.
Isn’t 6 years enough?
Capnamerica,
You are full of crap. We didn’t level Falujah. I am in Falujah right now.
It was not revenge killing. Falujah had become one of the terrorist stronholds. We gave the people there plenty of time to get out and even more as we progressed through.
Please show me where we used White Phosphourus intentionally on children.
If you can’t back it up with facts you are nothing more than a liar, no better, but far worse, than what you try to say Bush is.
Yoo Hoo, Tracy. Still waiting.
Okay, Gene, you repeat Rush Limbaugh’s talking points so well that I’m not going to waste any more time with you after this post.
But obviously the ones that don’t have the holes drilled in them?
They are the ones that lived.
Like the guy on another link–he was only whipped with metal cables. That was done by OUR SIDE. OUR PEOPLE illegally kidnapped him, OUR GOV’T had him shipped to who knows where, and OUR INTELLIGENCE AGENTS whipped him with metal cables.
So, save the crap about underwear on the head.
Of course, the ones that our gov’t KILLED by drilling holes in their bodies, they don’t get to tell us about it, do they?
Conclusion: I don’t know if our side tortures people with electric drills or not. But I do know our side tortures. And to think that the people we have doing these things are incapable of horrible torture–the worst kind of torture–is naive to the point of willful denial.
Nathan–
I already linked you to a VIDEO that documents everything I say.
You chose not to respond to that the last time.
But thanks for reminding me to post it again.
Here’s a blurb: This is the terrible testimony given by Jeff Englehart, veteran of the war in Iraq. “I have seen women and children burnt bodies - the … all » former U.S. soldier added - phosphorus explodes and it creates a cloud. Whoever is within 150 mt is dead.” Some witnesses have seen a rainfall of burning substances of different colors that were burning people when hit and even those who were not hit had problems breathing”, told us Mohamad Tareq al-Deraji, director of the center for human rights studies in Fallujah. «
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1134673789364675735
I just believe what I see with my own eyes. If that makes me a “liar,” then so be it.
How can you accuse me of the talking points. There is a thing called evidence. We have evidence against Uday and Husay of what they did.We have evidence of what was done at Abu Gharab.
We have no evidence of any other. Are you telling me that when people are tortured and released that we are to believe who they say did it.What did the torturers walk around with name tags and where they were from.If I walk up to you and hit you and tell you that I did it because you are an American do you immediately think that I am not an American. You have no idea. The same goes with these torture victims. Just because they say it was the Americans, without proof does not make it so.
OH and by the way about the drilling. Funny Randi Rhodes, Air America, stated that the torture was the most discusting, sickening, horrendous, brutal thing she had ever seen. And that was about Abu Gharab.
Wonder what she thought of some of the stuff Uday and Husay did?
When phosphorus burns it makes P2O5. When that dissolves in water (like in the lungs) it makes concentrated phosporic acid. That then can badly burn the tissues inside the lungs.
Still waiting for a response to the video . . .
Gene,
You honestly expect us to agree to your stop-bashing-bush request, while you continue–even in your deal-making post, after Clinton has been out of office 6 years–to bash HIM?
Hey, you guys taught us how. Looks like we learned so well that we’ve shown even you pros how to do it better.
Live with it.
CapnAmerica,
Unfortunately that site is blocked by our network here. I can’t watch the video.
But, let me guess, it doesn’t actually show the military using any weapons… it just shows dead bodies. Am I right?
I have read about Jeff Englehart. The guy is about as far left as you can get and only spent 2 days in the battle for Falujah as an escourt.
He said that he heard the call for WP over the radio. Whatever that means.
That is your proof?
Your are a laughing stock. I am actually sitting here in Falujah right now. It sure isn’t leveled.
Nathan?
I think you wrote a detailed account of just how comfortable your accomodations had been made for you by the former occupants there. You are “in the rear with the gear”. Isn’t that about right?
Now I don’t mean to diminish your service and your being there. But as we know from the media, things are vastly different outside the “green” zones.
Sorry Nathan, but I think your exposure to the truth of what is going on in Iraq is only marginally better than mine.
And the thread.
I was positively embarrassed by bush at the UN.
The leader of the most powerful nation on the planet should at LEAST be able to pronounce words and the names of other nations properly. NOT doing so disrespects the forum and all in attendance. We can only hope that the translators caught and corrected bush’s errors.
JR,
There you go assuming again. Camp Falujah is in the heart of the Sunni Triangle. Hardly in the rear with the gear.
I can’t even tell you all the precautions they took to get us here because of the dangers.
Our base is hit regularly with indirect fire.
I see and hear what the Marines here do every day.
Your are foolish and naive if you actually think you know anywhere near what I know here.
That’s very interesting, Nathan, that the military has blocked a site showing scenes of . . . war.
Don’t want the soldiers to see any war footage, apparently.
Kinda like no coffins on TV.
Anyway, when you said, “let me guess, it doesn’t actually show the military using any weapons… it just shows dead bodies. Am I right?” you weren’t right, you were wrong.
It shows a marine shooting a wounded and unarmed Iraqi dead. They had to un-embed the journalist for filming it.
Do any of you ever write your Congressional delegation - a letter to the editor relating what ever displeasure you have with them or the current adminiistration? Seems it might do more good than arguing your points to each other here. Unless of course if you write to Tiahrt — he doesn’t answer mail that disagrees with him. I am willing to host a gathering to view “Iraq for Sale” that should get everybody’s blood boiling.
CapnAmerica,
Everything here is blocked. I can’t go to myspace, xanga, many sites which they deem takes up too much bandwidth.
Half the time I am blocked from this site.
Has nothing to do with the particualr content of that video. Hate to break your heart on that conspiracy theory.
Ken - write to Tanker Todd Tiahrt?! Or Brown-nose Pat Roberts?! Surely you jest!
But Nathan - I thought the locals welcomed your presence. Shouldn’t you be getting enough good intel to ferret out the vary small number who don’t want you there?
Ken,
I have sent many letters and emails to both offices…
I have NEVER gotten a personal response. In the case of email, i never got a “Read Receipt”.
So, where do we do our talking, here in the blogs and in the paper… Where, maybe they or their lackeys might read it…
Heh, nice try, Nathan.
Let me guess . . . Rushlimbaugh.com is always available.
Okay, I’m watching the video again now.
The Italian PBS is showing scenes of white phosphorous raining down indiscriminately on civilian targets.
As for Fallujah being “levelled,” it might be an exaggeration. Estimates put the destruction at 37,000 houses destroyed. That’s only a large part of the town levelled.
The minister of defence of England admitted that a napalm-like weapon MK77 has been used in Iraq.
This is particularly hypocritical considering that WE used UN sanctions against chemical weapons to justify our invasion. The UN also outlaws incindary chemical weapons like napalm.
Ken:”Unless of course if you write to Tiahrt — he doesn’t answer mail that disagrees with him.”
Actually, Ken, the one thing (and it is only one) I respect about Tiahrt is that he ALWAYS writes me back. I’ve always begun my letters with how I’ve never voted for Tiahrt in all the opportunities I’ve been given and how I will never vote for him.
He always writes back. His responses don’t always make a lot of sense to me. But, he writes back.
For example, when he was supporting Clinton’s impeachment, I asked wasn’t it true that Clinton’s salvation was dependent upon his asking for forgiveness from God, and not what some right wing partisans thought was appropriate punishment for the president. He agreed with the first part, but went on to say the government also had a role to play in Clinton’s punishment. Kinda contradictory, but seemed to aptly outline his position.
Hey Nathan,
Don’t bother, if they haven’t been in the military they won’t believe you. They still think they “support the troops” as long as they aren’t calling you baby killer to your face.
Nevermind that any and all that they are putting out is used by AlQueda, al jazerra, palestine, syria and OBL as the real pumping up of terrorism.
Hey look, the Americans are against their own administration and their own best interest. As long as we continue as long as we keep up the PR campaign, the Americans will pull out and we will be right back where we were. Free to do what we want.
I so wish I could find the passage of the North Vietnamese general who talked after the war about how the public response in America was why they continued on the way they did. Why they left the table in Paris just before Nixon let loose the B-52’s.
“Hey look guys, we got one of America’s most famous actor’s daughter here telling us how wonderful we are and how terrible the Americans are. Look how gleeful she is hanging on one of the guns we shoot down American planes with.”
Who would quit against us with that type of PR?
Between the Hollywood crowd and the Elites going against their own best interests, the soldiers will continue to be picked off 1-2 or 4-5 at a time.
The terrorists know if they keep this up, eventually someone will be put in place who will placate them and appeasement will be the word of the day and all will be lost.
Hey Cappy,The UN has declared tear gas as a chemical agent as well.
“I so wish I could find the passage of the North Vietnamese general who talked after the war about how the public response in America was why they continued on the way they did. Why they left the table in Paris just before Nixon let loose the B-52’s.”
1. You can find it, Gene. Look for it at Snopes.com, the myth-busting site.
It was totally bogus. General Giap never said that because he never thought it. What he DID say was that “no matter how many of our soldiers you kill, we’ll still win.”
That’s what’s so scary about you people. Rushliar or O’Liarly says something totally bogus that fits your preconceived world view, and you NEVER FORGET IT even though it is proven untrue many times.
2. If the terrorists were worried about our response to terror, why did they destroy the World Trade Center? That galvanized public opinion AGAINST them.
What you say they think and what they do don’t jibe.
You should just listen to what they actually say–”we hate the US because it is occupying our country militarly.”
No speculation on their motives needed . . .
Good, Gene.
If we don’t agree with them, then we shouldn’t use them to justify an invasion.
As for supporting the troops, I don’t hold the troops responsible for anything bad that happens in Iraq.
I hold the President responsible.
Wouldn’t it have been nice to wake up this morning and listened to the news reports that the U.N. and most of the delegations had been blown-up by a massive bomb. The leaders of Iran and Venezuala had perished (and now reside in Hell). But then the chances of the world having such good news are greater than a person winning the lottery 4 weeks in a row.
Oh and you can include all those supporting the terrorists on this blog to the list of bodies found at the ruins of the U.N. And include most of the politicians, from both parties, in the list too.
Too bad we can’t line up those speaking treason on the blog against a wall and eliminate them from humanity in a Muslim sort of way.
I just love these peace-loving sorts like rrichardson and wschempel. They sound just like their hero Hitler. Probably claim to be good Christians too …
Wschempel–
The “old German” troll is back.
Ve getz, douchebag.
I thought you knew all about lining people up against walls and shooting them as a former German in Nazi Germany.
Or maybe you supported Das Fuerher like our Pope did . . .
Because terrorists engage in terrorism and horrific acts, we have to do it too, otherwise we’re “sympathizers.”
Unbelievable . . .
As you can plainly see Ben, the last name is Jewish. But you being an anti-semetic you wouldn’t know that. I bet you sit around all day playing with yourself while you blog. Hitler would have known what to do with you and other of your like mind. Too bad we can’t do it today.
wschempel,
Perhaps you should learn how to spell the insult before using it.
anti-semItic
The definition also applies to you.
semitic: (noun) a subfamily of Afroasiatic languages that includes Akkadian, Arabic, Aramaic, Ethiopic, Hebrew, and Phoenician.
(adjective) of or pertaining to the Semites or their languages
Good joke ws. I am just as anti-Semitic as Prime Minister Rabin. You are so full of shit as to be a parody of yourself.
Of course, it was the likes of ws who murdered Rabin.
rrichardsen
clearly bumped his head many times when he fell outta that tree.
richardsen?
YOUR president is in favor of monitoring communications and forums such as this one.
Your comments in regard to the UN and some of the bloggers here COULD raise some red flags with those folks.
I’d post more carefully if I were you! You don’t want to be whisked away to one of bush’s CIA prisons that didn’t exist until he admitted they did.
I imagine your lodgings at the asylum were a great deal more comfortable.
No J R he needn’t worry. His comments have been approved by CUFI/PNAC/AIPAC.
Oh, this is rich. A “German Jew” who’s telling me what Hitler would do.
Hey, troll schmerkle, say “hello” to your other creations: Gail, the visiting professor from Africa and Mohammad the Turkman who can’t speak Turkish.
What city were you from in Germany?
Oops, looks like I scared off Herr Meshugena. Oy, vey.
Did you catch Hugo Chavez calling Bush “El diablo?”
Si, si, el presidente! Viva el hombre, Chavez!
Only Senator Roberts offic has ever responded to any of my emails or letters. And those responses have at least tried to address the issues I asked about. Don’t misunderstand, I doubt that I could ever vote for him but at least he tries to answer my concerns.
Brownback has answered with brief thank you notes. Tiahrt has never answered.
The problem is there is no public outrage or meaningful demonstration of our disgust with our government and the self serving politicians WE HAVE ELECTED. So you can blog all you want and nothing will change, until someone tries to organize some revolt, boycott or demonstration of out discontent. Say what you will about the boomers and the hippies, but at least with there demonstrations of the 60s and 70s, they helped end a war and ousted a corrupt president.
How can the US justify supporting the bigoted Jewish only State of Israel, when Israel denies even the basic human rights to the indigenous population of Arab Muslim Palestinians.
Bush claims to be a Christian yet is willing to finance the murdering of Arabs.
The world has no trouble seeing the glaring inequity between what the United States claims as its value system and what Bush is willing to stoop to.
Why is this not a major news story?
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7828123714384920696
