Good morning Tracy. Here's some comments on Dem plans:

"Democrats offer a plan for Real Security to rebuild our military; equip and train our first responders and others on the front lines here at home; provide needed benefits to our troops and veterans; fully man and equip our National Guard; promote alternative fuels and reduce dependence on foreign oil; and restore Americans' confidence in their government's ability to respond in the face of a terrorist attack or natural disaster.

"To protect the American people, we will immediately implement the recommendations of the independent bipartisan 9/11 Commission and finally protect our ports and airports, our borders, mass transit systems, our chemical and nuclear power plants, and our food and water supplies from terrorist attack.

"After September 11, all Americans trusted President Bush to take the steps necessary to keep our country safe. Since then, inadequate planning and incompetent policies have failed to make Americans as safe as we should be. The tragedy of Hurricane Katrina showed that the federal government was still not prepared to respond.

"Under President Bush and the Republican majority in Congress, the war in Iraq began with manipulated intelligence and no plan for success; our ports and other critical infrastructure remain vulnerable, while both soldiers in the field and first responders at home lack the basic equipment and resources they were promised. Both in the Persian Gulf and our own Gulf Coast, lucrative no-bid contracts have gone to companies such as Halliburton, Kellogg, Brown and Root, and others with friends in high places and records of cheating taxpayers. And despite record high fuel prices, our country remains heavily dependent on foreign oil because of an energy policy that benefits the big oil interests.

"Americans want and deserve change. Democrats' plan for Real Security will protect Americans and restore our country's position of international leadership."

More here:<a href="http://democrats.senate.gov/agenda/real_security/" rel="nofollow">http://democrats.senate.gov/agenda/real_security/</a>

Cheney would have done the same blunders (see the above thread). Comforting, no?

"So AL Gore was in charge of keeping up with intelligence? Must explain why the CIA's budget was cut, I believe almost every single year of Billy's presidency."

I thought the CIA's budget was secret. You have some inside track?

"What did folks think of installment II?"

Unfortunately, work got in the way; didn't see it.

May I assume the same theme prevailed for the Bush year: that if only the bureaucratic higher-up pussies would embrace the not-yet-invented War on Terrorism and ignore that wimpy, terrorist-loving Constitution, we could have stopped the bastards in their tracks?

Part I pushed that theme with all the subtlety of a brick through a window. The fact that 9-11 occurred on Bush's watch should not have discouraged the producers from advancing that theme; after all, Bush has been hostile to civil liberties from day one, which also makes it easier for Repub partisans to continue blaming everything on Clinton.

Well JR, you definatly aren't the brightest bulb in the socket. If thats ALL you got, then bring on the rest.

"What did Clinton do about terrorism? Well I'm no great fan of Clinton. But those who bombed the WTC in 93 were caught and are incarcerated for the rest of their lives."

Well that must have had Al Quaeda quaking in their boots! I mean yeah look how many years it was until the embassy bombings.Funny that you made no comment about the embassys or the Cole. Well that certainly was quite an accomplishment huh JR? Whooo, how did Billy and Madeline accomplish so much. Oh thats right they were also busy appeasing and kowtowing to the North Koreans. Yep ol Billy was sooooo harassed he had to send Jimmy (absolute worst president EVER) Carter over to handle that.

I just can't believe that the thought of jail time didn't stop OBL and his followers. I mean here they are willing to die for their beliefs, kill civilians but just the thought of prison, was just to much for them. That held them up.

So AL Gore was in charge of keeping up with intelligence? Must explain why the CIA's budget was cut, I believe almost every single year of Billy's presidency.

Now how did you put it.

"Al Gore was making good progress in tracking Bin Laden and his efforts."

So Al Gore had 7 years of tracking OBL and didn't catch or kill him, even knowing where he was most of the time. Again, ol OBL shaking in his boots. Looks like we dodged a bullet with him not being president when 911 happened.Let me guess he was using one of dem thar Tennessee Coon dawgs for 7 years.

Incredible. JR just sit down and don't even bother little boy. I laid out tons of information and questions and all you can come up with is that poor ol Billy was just to harassed to deal with terrorism. Oh brother.

I'm not saying that this administration did any better, but at least they did something. It was just the way the Dems were going on about this movie. How everything was a lie, it's all Bush propaganda, blah, blah, blah.

You still can't ignore the fact of how many attacks were carried out with Clinton in charge. Fortunatly there were fewer casualties than 911. If the LAX plot that was foiled by border agents, had been successful, can you imagine the toll, which would have been after 8 years of Billy being in office. Would we hear this outcry from the Dems?

7 years Billy knew we were a target. 7 years. 7 years of Al Q plotting, planning. OBL sitting there issueing fatwa's about how he was going to destroy America, was going to kill Americans on American soil and all the Dems can say now is that

"Well, 911 happened on Bush's watch, he ignored the warnings for a FULL 7 months, IT IS ALL HIS FAULT!"

AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD THE DEMOCRATIC PLAN FOR STOPPING TERRORISM.

Just lay it out step by step for me. Let's pretend that Will and JR's wet dreams come true and they have convince another load of sheeple that everything Bush has done is bad. We're not going to do any better, BUT it will be different from Bush. There is a clear majority of democrats in the house and senate.

What will happen the next day? Will the senate immediatly begin impeachment or will they immediatly begin pulling troops out of Irag? Will they immediatly begin building hospitals and schools in Palestine? Will they immediatly begin building structures for Iran, that don't kill 27,000 people in only a 4.2 earthquake? Will they immediatly call to cease any and all support for Israel? Heres an easy one. The first thing they are going to do is raise taxes on the wealthy, is that part of the plan?

I really want to know. I have gone to the DNC's website. I've gone to my county's democrate website. I've gone to a neighboring county's website. All it is is Bush bashing, NO PLAN.

Here's an easy one for you JR. When is Sandy "the burglar" Burger going to fess up and admit what he stole from the archives, (ppsstt, I'll bet it had something to do with last nights and tonights movie)

Here's a clue for you JR. He'll admit to what it was AT EXACTLY the same time Billy Clinton apologizes to the National Organization of Women (NOW) about that whole Monica thing.

What did folks think of installment II?

"It was democrats that called for the 911 commission. bush opposed that action for months."

Read the Kean & Hamilton, "Without Precedent: The inside story of the 9/11 commission" to see how the Bush administration were terrified that the commission would make them look "bad/incompetent".

Having said that, I did not see where the ABC movie (work of fiction) gave Bush a push.

The warning signals were "blinking red" and Bush was pondering how to respond in a robust and manly way. He "didn't quite get it done did he?" -- Laura probably says that often (privately, of course), don't ya think?

Sorry, JR, I will keep watching LOST. I don't purchase cable, and that show is the only thing worth watching that comes into my TV set.

You are not worthy of the efforts of our better posters Gene. So I'll field this one.

What did Clinton do about terrorism? Well I'm no great fan of Clinton. But those who bombed the WTC in 93 were caught and are incarcerated for the rest of their lives.

Perhaps Bill Clinton might have been able to be even more effective in his pursuit of terrorists if he had not been hounded by people consumed with hate for him for beating Bush1. From his first day in office, the attacks began and culminated in impeachment over a matter that more judicious people would have never brought to light much less pursued with the zeal of a holy crusade.

Al Gore was making good progress in tracking Bin Laden and his efforts. The departing Clinton administration and Gore warned the incomoing bush jr of the threat of Bin Laden and alquaeda. bush spent almost half his time in office up to the time of the attack on..........vacation. Tonights movie did not show him with the memo "Bin Laden determined to attack in United States" while he was catching a fish in Texas a month before the attack.

It was democrats that called for the 911 commission. bush opposed that action for months.

It was democrats that called for creation of a department of homeland security. Bush opposed this too.

That enough for ya Gene? Or shall I embarrass you further?

Joe Williams,

"Is there any real men in Washington; or are they all cowards?

LOL!"-------

Joe, almost 3,000 people died five years ago.

What do you find HUMOROUS about words never said, on a mission that did NOT occur three years earlier?

The 911 Commission report says the CIA aborted that mission weeks earlier.

'ABC retained fabricated scene showing Clinton officials aborting mission to capture bin Laden', <a href="http://mediamatters.org/items/200609110001" rel="nofollow">http://mediamatters.org/items/200609110001</a>

I have gone back over the past postings and STILL no answers. I don't get it. You see and hear the fatwa that OBL put out that he will not stop until America is muslim. How is John Kerry, Billary (Will/JR, you don't think it fits???), Ted Kennedy going to respond to that? You are all so against this movie that you are TRYING to convince yourselves that the plotting of 911 didn't start UNTIL January 2001 when Bush took office. Sorry, but WTC 93 did occur. The embassy bombings did occur. The USS Cole did occur. Now back to my list of questions. Why didn't Clinton use all the brain power he has to go ahead and capitulate to the terrorists then, as soon as the first WTC happened. Why wasn't Madeline out there stroking every Islamic country across the globe asking, what do we need to do so you won't hate us? Why did we not abandon Israel, that would have been a great place to start?Bill had 7 years to appease EVERYONE.

What are the Democrats going to do? At least, Bush DID something (though, not far enough). It scares me to death the thought of what Al Gore might have done (shudder). I'm guessing he would have started at A, and gone alphabetical through all the Islamic countries, ASKING, if it would be okay if the US responded to this attack.

How far are the Dems ready to go to protect this country? How much capitualation and appeasement are we going to have to go through?

I know you all will probably say I'm lying or the commission was lying about Yeusef being Sunni and an Iragi, and yet Randi Rhodes on Air America says that there could never, NEVER have been any contact between OBL and Saddam because OBL was Shia and Saddam was Sunni. Wow and yet OBL opened up Afghanistan to Yeusef and paid him. Must have just been Yeusef's cologne. Now I have not heard this on the Republican talking points, thats right I figured it out all by myself. So let me get this straight. OBL gets run out of Afghanistan by the US. Now I'm suppose to believe that if OBL called up Saddam and said "Hey Saddam, you've done a fantastic job paying terrorists and suicide bombers in Palestine. What do you say I come over to Iraq and set up some training camps and kill even MORE Americans, think that would be okay?" Now,I'm suppose to believe that Saddam's response would have been "oh no, you are to fanatical for me, plus you do not like the Sunni's and besides why would I want Americans dead?" This is what I'm suppose to believe. Now before you go getting your panties in a knot, I have already heard the talking points, Saddam was not involved with 9-11, I know that. But you're telling me the above scenario COULD NEVER HAPPEN?Also anyone want to explain to me, Iraq-Sunni, Iran-Shia, had an 11 year war, hundreds of thousand of dead, billions spent, ended in a tie, and yet what is the first thing Saddam does in the first gulf war when the air war started? Sent what remained of his Air Force to the Iranians. I'm guessing for safekeeping? Or was it the cologne again?

EXTRA CREDIT: How do you think OBL or Iran or most of the Muslim nations feel about the US having legalized abortion? How do you think they feel about the idea of us having Gay marriage? How do you think they feel about 90% of the movies coming out of Hollywood? How do you think they feel about women voting? How do you think they feel about Britney and her belly button sticking out? Do you think they think that they are all swell ideas? Are the liberals in this country ready to give up all of these ideas or freedoms, (whatever you want to call it) to placate the radical islamists. Are you ready to give that up, to make them like us and not want to attack us?

Thanks Paul, I'll pass.

It is appropriate your presence on this thread though.

You are our resident shillmeister. So it is sort of right to have you in on the "shilliest" moment in remembered histor.

I was right.

Tonight, ABC is gonna start their political commercial and history spin piece at 7 then at 8 cut away to bush and then back to commercial free presentation of an outright lie. And all in prime time.

ABC may just may have outshilled you Paul.

This is what happens when a maker of cartoons takes over a national network.

Unbelievable.

Suza:

I'm getting a very 'forest for the trees' feeling about you. When we translate things, we don't selectively translate just so that we can skew messages. Oh wait, yes we do, that's what the King James Version and a lot of Student versions of the bible have done. But anyhow, when you translate Arabic into English the word Allah becomes the word God. We don't leave it in Arabic to make a distinction. Our beliefs point to the same central God... Christians see Jesus as the Messiah, while Muslims look to Mohammed/Muhammad (depending on how much you want to Anglicize the spelling.) We accept that the Jews call God Yahweh, but we don't assume that they're worshipping a different God. Although some people here on the good ship Mel Gibson's Insanity blame them for killing Jesus. So, suza, if anyone else here has to explain to you that A) MUSLIMS WORSHIP THE SAME GOD WE DO and B) ALLAH IS THE MUSLIM WORD FOR GOD then you are obviously a huge f*cktard.

Maybe the use of God was to inflame these Right Wingers?

JR,

I hope the fake events and the distortions in it get widespread coverage.

Perhaps then people will realize how dysfunctional our media is -- and demand improvements, be more skeptical, and crosscheck facts.

ABC obviously was not trying to provide viewers the truth,'Writer of ABC's 9/11 'Docudrama' Is Avowed Conservative Activist'<a href="http://thinkprogress.org/2006/09/01/nowrasteh-conservative-activist" rel="nofollow">http://thinkprogress.org/2006/09/01/nowrasteh-conservative-activist</a>

I watch our right wing posters on this thread today with great interest!

Their more maverick right wing shills like Matt Drudge and Neal Boortz are trashing this movie. The more mainline shill Rush Limbaugh is LAUDING it. I will predicit here that Hannity will do the same.

And so, our "friends" on the right will be of confused message today. They will also NEVER be able to again call the mainstream media liberal. The fact that a political attack piece used the anniversary of an American tragedy to distort history on a major network forever discredits that old right wing complaint.

Well done, Repukelickin' pigfuckers. You pushed and pushed and got this thing on the air. Well done, Fascistos!

This Scaife-funded piece of Info-ganda should answer the question of what it means to live in the AmeriKKKan police state of 2006. As we speak, Joseph Goebbels is lyin' in the grave, jerking off, with visions of what you've managed to accomplish.

Well HI again "Gene"!

Prove to me why I should waste any more time on you than I already have.

I find your writing trite. It is suggestive that you are either very young or rather poorly informed. The use of the word "Billary" is telling.

Hey "Gene"? Hows about you tell us just how george bush and Republicans have been good for America. Let's see what you can come up with.

You seem spoiling for a fight. That is right where I live bud! I'm kinda tired of sparring with the cons we got here. Most of them are intellectually uninteresting.

Whatcha got Gene?
