Too hot, Julie? Yeah, you guys are really getting socked. It's weird. It's actually been pretty nice here. Some 100+ degree days, but the standard Arizona low humidity.

A monsoon a while back flooded the hell out of Sabino Canyon, requiring extensive repair. That's "severe weather" here. It rains a lot, and sometimes the streets flood a bit (they even have the flood areas marked for benefit of idiots). I know monsoons can be bad--we drove through a *MF* on the way down--but so far, I'm underwhelmed. Not even much lightning, let alone wind.

I laugh at the weatherguy. I think my years in Kansas and Oklahoma taught me what "severe weather" REALLY is. :)

My favorite bit was the one where the troll was gaurding the swinging bridge and required you to answer a difficult question before you could pass.(in my best Chris Farley voice:)Remember that one? Yeah? That one was sooo cool!

BTW Julie, I am in training to be tall and blonde with lots of perfect hair on my head. Not paying off too well so far.

Yah, I know. But the thread title and jfran's comments inspired me.

It was actually a shameless Monty Python reference:<a href="http://orangecow.org/pythonet/sketches/fishslap.htm" rel="nofollow">http://orangecow.org/pythonet/sketches/fishslap.htm</a>

Hi TRACY,yes, sometimes it does seem like a soap, but most times it can be very funny reading the back and forth banter. There are even times when I find myself saying things out loud to some of the regulars. I guess what made me finally post was the absolute "shut-down" response ksfrmgrrl made up-post. I just couldn't stay quiet any longer.... I'm still going to lurk, but I may post from time to time......I just like to stand back and listen......and learn.

jfran, this is much better than the soaps. And usually moves much quicker.

Which brings me to a question.Do people really follow what we say here, kind of like a soap?

If so, just imagine me as the young guy with great abs and perfect hair, who always seems to have his shirt off for some unknown reason. HA!!

The only true difference between liberals and conservatives is the list of items that they want the government to take away from you. In defense of the liberals, at least they not hypocrites claiming to be supportive of limited government while they think of all the new laws they can create to control personal behavior.

Liberals want to take away your money, guns, property rights, religious displays

Conservatives want to take away your marriage rights, ability to choose an abortion, porn, gambling outlets, sex ed, contrapceptives, profane movies and evolution education.

However, both groups can come together and support bans on smoking, drugs and violent video games.

I wish that some elected official would stand up for the constitutional amendment that is really needed. The Mind Your Own F*****g Business Amendment.

Thank you for the welcome JR. As I said, I've been reading this blog since last summer. I feel as if I know some of you....XXX, Ben, JR, Ksfrmgrrl, TRACY, Darwin's Disciple, Joe Williams, Hank, Nathan, among others. I was born in Wichita, but moved away in 1975. I do keep up with things through the Eagle online, and this blog, which I love to read. You are indeed correct, Nathan ran smack into a mirror.....hope he didn't crack it.....

"I mean really, if you don't want one, then don't eat one."

heheheheh

hee hee hee hee hee

ROFLMQAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh nathan, that is what we libs say about pornography, gay marriage, censorship, all the things you hold near and dear to fight about.

For heavens sake, if you dont want to marry a queer, have an abortion, watch porn, listen to bad language on tv, or eat a bypass burger...

...dont do it!! But leave the rest of us alone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Ksfrmgrrl,I've been lurking in and around this blog since last summer. I read it everyday. What you said to Nathan is the absolute best answer I've ever seen.......you could not have put things in a better, more easily understood way, than you did. Bravo!!

Dingus,

I believe Dave was doing a Parody of the show with a Black and White family setting.

Great show, wish he would have stayed on, but I RESPECT his decision.

Just couple of years ago Dave Chapelle did a skit on his show about a fake show called wife swap. Now such a show exists. Not to mention the premises of Who wants to marry a millionaire, midgets, etc all sound like they should be comedy skits.

WHY would anyone give a damn what Nathan eats? Other than poison, which, thanks to the libs in this generation and previous generations, is banned.

If nathan and his ilk had been in charge back then, you could order a plate of e coli with a side of salmanella and no one would have a problem with it.

Damn Ben, you can be sharp.I suggested ADM would have him eating the substance in question, but I'm sure there's a few libs that would join them in that. Not me, I respect him even if I don't agree with the conservative views. Many of his views could be written by my one and only brother, and I wouldn't know the difference.

TRACY - I sure don't! Some might perhaps make suggestions as friends (as Hank has done with me informally) but definitely NOT through attempts at legislation.

I personally don't know any dems that care what Nathan eats, or does (unless it's illegal).

Anybody know any dems worried about what Nathan eats?

If you're talking about big corps that bring wonderful things like super saturated fats, well I don't think that's a democratic thing. It's called nutritional science.ADM would sell you dog poop if it helped make potato chips.
