Good luck finding a ticket. No, we’re not talking about the Rolling Stones concert, but rather the Wichita State University men’s basketball team, which Monday sold out out its season tickets two months before the first game. That’s about 8,900 happy fans.
Who says Wichitans don’t support sports teams? Even before their NCAA Sweet 16 dream season, the Shocks had a rabidly loyal fan base. Now the excitement is going through the roof.
It just goes to show: Put together a winning program, and the fans will come.

I am so excited for WSU.
I really do love that school and I am proud that the Athletics Department, the Coach, and the Basketball players have made this such a success.
It is so great to see the Students support the new arena and be a part of what a success it has become.
Lets hope for another winning season this year and even perhaps a Sweet 16?
a sweet 16 would be nice!
I’ve always been interested going with a team to all the road games. Never had the life schedule to do that.
WSU made the sweet 16, but I hope for just MVC season and tournament champion at the most. Anything that happens in March, just icing on the cake. Lose in the first round but have the Valley championships to appreciate.
Always being picked to win the conference helps recruiting more than the odd years making the March tournament every now and then.
It must be because of the promotion for the stones concert, if you had a season pass from wsu, you could buy tickets Sunday evening. Bet their volley ball team season passes sold out as well, as they were the cheapest season pass. Sorry to rain on your parade Randy!
I got my Stones tickets without getting WSU season tix.

Yeah, right. That must be it. I’m sure it has nothing to do with that MV championship or that WSU is a tournament team.
Steve,
The games were selling out all last season before the stones concert.
What are you talking about?
Gotta go with Todd and nathan – I think the Shox ticket sales have nothing to do with the Stones concert.
Go Shocks!! now who are these Stoned guys? Oh.. STONES.. I shoulda said OLD guys.. hehe…
LOL.. someone said Stones tickets were on e-Bay for $1000… and they weren’t even sold out…. DUH!!
Would be interesting to know how much the promotion did benefit WSU ticket sales.
