More food for thought on how deep a thinker President Bush is, courtesy of U.S. News & World Report, on the heels of reports that Bush read Albert Camus’ “The Stranger” at the ranch this month: “Bush has entered a book-reading competition with Karl Rove, his political adviser. White House aides say the president has read 60 books so far this year (while the brainy Rove, to Bush’s competitive delight, has racked up only 50).” An accompanying presidential reading list includes biographies of Abraham Lincoln, Babe Ruth, Russia’s Alexander II, Robert Oppenheimer and Roberto Clemente, and “Salt: A World History.”
Meanwhile, the article notes, Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg says 58 percent of Americans think Bush “seems in over his head.”

P-R-O-P-A-G-A-N-D-A.
Do you really think Bush is reading Camus?
Have you ever seen the man speak?
Okay, Bush is an idiot but that still doesn’t justify using a photoshopped picture of him holding a book upside down. There’s no need to sink to the level of the President who has to modify pictures in a pathetic attempt to display public approval of his agenda.
But that’s how he reads: upside down. That’s what makes him such a great man.
Maybe the Jerk ought to read the “Rules or Warfare” in the Geneva Conventions……..

UN: Civilian areas in S. Lebanon still littered with cluster bombs
By Haaretz Service and Reuters
“The UN said Friday that south Lebanon is strewn with unexploded cluster bombs dropped by Israel, as the U.S. State Department has been reportedly investigating Israel’s use of the weapon.
“There are about 285 cluster bomb locations across south Lebanon, and our teams are still doing surveys and adding new locations every day,” said Dalya Farran, spokeswoman for the UN Mine Action Coordination Center, which has an office in the southern port city of Tyre.”
“We find about 30 new locations per day,” she said.

Keep in mind that the 7000 bombs dropped on Lebanon was completely unnecessary. The two Israeli soldiers captured by Hezbollah had crossed the border into Lebanon. Fair game.
Hezbollah is NOT a “terrorist” organisation and had Not retaliated against Israel in over 10 years. They were simply keeping Israel from attacking Lebanon, while caring for refugees from Israeli aggression and land theft. And is now obvious, protecting Lebanon for good reasons. Israel wants Hezbollah disarmed so Israel can attack again. Why else?http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14252208
“…the brainy Rove”
Rhonda! You did not take care getting dressed! Your bias is showing again!
There is a difference between brainy and deviuos/conniving.
Rove is no thinker he is a thug. His reading list probably includes Mein Kampf (Cliff notes), Machiavelli (again,Cliff notes), and various supervillian comics.
How does he find time to be a married man while keeping prime minister Olmert as his mistress? Or is it the other way around?
Note the quasi-frustrated/angry look on bush’s face!
With his book upside down, the little girl reading to him is conveying information contrary to what he has!
Is it really reading when the books have a windup handle?
I didn’t realize the president had that much free time to read 60 books in one month? No wonder this insane Iraq war is taking so long.
I’m surprised he’s read 60 books. I would have thought that all those pop up books would distract and slow him down while he enjoyed the pretty pop ups.
Yeah, that’s was my first thought too, GM.
Rove’s books don’t have pictures . . . of little children and witches . . .
60 books a month=about two books a day. Total nonsense.I’m a heavy reader but I don’t come any where near that.Blaaatttt!!!!
I believe it says 60 books so far this year.********************************************************************”Bush has never appeared comfortable talking about the catastrophe [Katrina], and the storm’s continuing ability to bedevil him makes it a domestic counterpart to the Iraq war — a setback that fundamentally altered perceptions of a presidency.”
Possibly the best example of that is this Pew Poll from March, which asked people to describe Bush in one word.
“The single word most frequently associated with George W. Bush today is ‘incompetent,’ and close behind are two other increasingly mentioned descriptors: ‘idiot’ and ‘liar.’ All three are mentioned far more often today than a year ago.”********************************************************************

Oops. First mistake of the day. But it is early.
Now common, it’s hardly fair to say that Rhonda Holman is biased for saying that Rove is “brainy”. Haven’t you ever heard of the evil genius, demented scientist? Watch a little bit of James Bond.
Damn, I never realized there were that many Berenstain Bears books. Or that shrub was that big of a fan.
Bush is smarter than Kerry, and Bush was a better student at Yale than Kerry.Kerry nearly flunked out in his Freshman year:http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/6/7/104717.shtml
Bush is also smarter than Gore:SO WHO’S THE REAL EMPTY SUIT? At Harvard, Gore’s grades were lower than any semester on Bush’s transcript at Yale. In One Semester in his sophomore year he received one D, one C-minus, two C’s, two C-Pluses and one B-Minus. Gore rec’d a D in Natural Sciences 6 (Man’s place in Nature) and then got a C- in Natural Sciences 118 in his senior yr. So this is the expert on the environment? The one who will give us hybrid electric cars and solar panels on every home. The article is on the Washington Post’s front page (Sunday edition)
Interesting!
A take on the educational level of others from Paul F. Rosell.
Weren’t you a journalism grad Paul?
Haven’t you posted as to that saying “no one wanted me”?
Grades mean nothing Paul. When Daddy is an alumnus and also the head of the CIA as bush was, you kinda get to get credit without actually even showing up. YOU know, like bush also did with his military “service”!
bush is a moron. He has admitted that he does not read much. He is quoted as to not thinking much as well.
Paul if your head was any further up your ass you just might see the light at the end of the tunnel. First newmax is even less reputable than Faux News. While Faux puts a GOP spin on the news, newsmax makes up the news and this is just one more example. So before you go on witht he lip service to shrub ask yourself one thing. How did newsmax get Kerry’s grades? They are covered by the privacy act and cannot be released to anyone without written consent. If Kerry had grades that bad do you really think he would have them released? Your an idiot.
kI make my own share of typos. However, I do have a pet peave about the contraction formed by combining “you” and “are” –You need an apostrophe “you’re”.Slavery was abolished by the Republican Lincoln.”Your” moron would indicate that I owned another human being, as it is the possessive.—By the way, can you prove that Newsmax has done anything dishonest on the scale of Dan Rather and the fake guard records or Reuters and the photo shopped stories?I think Newsmax is irritating in some of its advertising, but I have never found them to be flagrantly wrong or dishonest.Show me a specific case, where Newsmax made a mistake and did not correct the error, would you? — Or any mistake at all for that matter.By the way, anything can be had for a price. The telling issue here is that neither Kerry nore Gore ever really tried to rebut the stories about their very poor grades.
JRI am guessing that you think Bush was the only elite person to attend Yale, in his day. That is ridiculous.Ivy League schools are so packed with the kids of the rich and famous and politically powerful that W was not a big fish in a small pond, he was just another fish.Your Bush hatred is not healthy, but I am here, in part, to study it.I am still thinking that Republicans have a good chance of hanging on to the Senate and an improving shot at holding the House. If I am wrong, my advice to my party is that the Dems will overreact.Bush Hatred will turn off the public — Just like Clinton Hatred turned off the public.Since you are so interested, I am here, in part, to see what ticks you folks off the most.If Republicans loose either House, your party will go so nutty that the next Republican Presidential nominee will do very well.Clinton, for all his faults, was a great politician. Republicans are handicapped by a desire to tell the truth more often than Clinton, but we can still learn from him.We will follow his model and watch you folks do yourselves in attacking Bush. Also, do not confuse speaking skill with intelligence.Would you allow Tom Cruise anywhere near the nuclear button? He speaks very well.
Ah Paul,
I can smell your fear and desperation.
You have retreated to the old “we lose we win” arguement.Hey cool with me!
Paul?
You say:
“Since you are so interested…..” re your presence here.
I already know why you are here. I think I have covered that.
Paul you seriously believe Newsmax is a credible news source? Wasn’t that the same website that presented numerous photoshopped pictures of John Kerry? I suppose people will believe anything these days.
Paul: It is peeve and lose
Someone needs to tell GW that reading the dustcover of a book is NOT the same as reading the book.
Newsmax is about as relevant to real news as the National Enquirer, the Globe or the Weekly World News.
Might as well keep track of the Bat-Boy or see which US politician is shaking hands with a space alien in a secret meeting.
Paul F. Rosell — Al Gore graduated cum laude.
Paul: “So this is the expert on the environment?”
Yes. Scientists and other experts agree with his 1992 book, and also his ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ movie/book.
Paul: “Show me a specific case, where Newsmax made a mistake and did not correct the error, would you? — Or any mistake at all for that matter.”
Some examples at http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/outlets/newsmaxcomRuddy’s Foster book was dismissed by Coulter as a “conservative hoax book”.
Rational people try to rely on credible sources.
