Brownback at the back of the pack, even in Iowa

If Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., has a chance of getting the GOP presidential nomination, he needs to come out of the chute in Iowa looking strong. But a new poll of likely GOP Iowa caucus-goers published in the Des Moines Register puts Brownback at only 2.5 percent, tied with Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. That compares with 30 percent for former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and 17.3 percent for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

Iowa would have supported Brownback more but they were a bit too informed about Brownback’s positions on the issues.

Senator Brownback will be lucky if he can hold on to his senate seat when he comes up for reelection because of his position on illegal immigration. I for one cannot wait to vote him out of office.

The one good thing is the Sam will spend a lot of contribution that otherwise might help the Repukes . . . support Uncle Sam Brownback with everything you can!

What is scary is that Iowa prefers Guliani? How will the Religious Right back him? He has alot of skeletons in his backyard – starting with the affair he had for years that was public knowledge. Any Republican who votes for family values should not even consider this man.

Hopefully he wont even be a Sanator next time, let alone a Prez candidate. He will be unceromoniously tossed for his open borders nonsense. Everytime I go to a home owners association mtg. the hallways before the mtg. are just seething about his immigration actions or lack thereof. I dont think the Eagle has a wit of a notion of the undercurrent. And no its not just the right…its the same people who threw out the school board ID fools. The radical middle – who will hopefully finish exterminating the ID infestation in the general elec.

If Brownback doesn’t get elected then there will be one less advocate for a Big Brother government. Personally, I’m a weak minded sheep so I need someone like Brownback when I should reproduce, when I should die, what god I should worship, and what tv shows and movies to watch. If he’s not there I may have to think for myself which means the government will have a harding time exploiting me and oppressing my neighbors. So please vote for Brownback or his vision for a iron fisted, oppressive government may become a government where people are free to exchange ideas and speak their minds.

Good let’s get rid of Brownback both on the Presidential level as if, and vote him out of the Senate as well.

Brownback is one of our “Kansas wingnuts” that the Gov. of Wyoming commented about during the Matthew Sheppard funeral. The Gov. was referring to Fred Phelps. Brownback will eventually try to ban male masturbation because a sperm is half a baby. In Kansas, there are a lot of wingnuts.

Brownback has said he won’t run in 2010, first because he reportedly said he felt a higher calling, then because he felt strongly about term limits. What are the Kool-Aid Republicans gonna do if he keeps his word?

Most reasonable people have had about as much as they want from right wing fanatics. Brownie’s ranking is no surprise.

Folks, polls at this point are worthless! There is not a snowballs chance that either Rudy or McCain will ever get the Republican nomination. It just won’t happen.Sam Brownback is not yet well known nationally. It would be unusual for someone like Brownback to get the nominatin on the first try anyway, but he will do better than his current showing.Who would want to be the “frontrunner” now, anyway?Conservatives run the Republican nomination process, just like liberals run the Democrat nomination process. As soon as Conservative decide who to support, Rudy and McCain will fade fast.

I read with concern the small article in the paper about Sam Brownback being a potential Vice Presidential contender – that’s some kind of twisted joke, right? He isn’t remotely qualified for the job he has now, let alone evelating him to a position one step away from the Presidency. His website has been updated, but previously listed as political experience: US Senator, US Representative, preceeded by, “Kansas Day Treasurer”, in that order. Now the latter is a job you could really sink your teeth into, and one which he may actually be qualified to hold. Certainly it does not appear to be a stepping stone to national offce, as it has been for Mr. Brownback. I would consider him a baffoon, but they are harmless -Brownback is not harmless, which makes him dangerous, considering he holds a position in the US Senate.I have little regard for people who bring nothing to a job – except family money and influence. Having watched him on the floor of the Senate make a completely inane presentation on the ills of stem cell research, I fully understand why he never practiced law. I would have expected more, as far as presentation manner, from a high school student. Our former Senators had to gracefully retire and not run for another term, before Brownback could get his chance. He is an embarrassment to Kansas and the national political scene as well. Why anyone would entertain the idea of Brownback being a VP possibilty really boggles the mind. Surely our country has someone with talent to present as the VP candidate on the Presidential ticket.
