Good news whenever a terrorist plot is foiled

The New York Daily News reported that one man has been arrested in Lebanon and others are being sought in a foiled plot to blow up New York City tunnels. Some would rather that Americans not know about any of this, at least not yet, as the investigation is ongoing. But this and other revelations about unrealized terrorist plans reflect well on the Bush administration, showing that anti-terrorism efforts are working. Whenever possible, news of foiled attacks should be shouted from the rooftops.

I certainly hope they didn’t get this info by tapping someone’s phone. That would be wrong.

    Uh Rhonda?

The guy was arrested in Lebanon? Just how was he gonna blow up a tunnel in New York from Lebanon?

According to CNN, the guy in Lebanon had sent maps to co-conspirators in NY. Amazing what can be done via the internet…the guy has admitted his role in this plot.

Uh, JR? You can’t be serious? Kidding, right? I certainly hope so. Your response is typical of the liberal mentality, which is why the American voters have trouble trusting Democrats with national security. Why would terrorist risk getting caught in the US during the planning stage?

This hate-Bush binge you liberals are on is clouding your common sense.

It is entirely possible that the premature release of this information alerted tipped off others and gave them a chance to avoid capture?

Irresponsible journalism on whoever leaked this? I don’t have enough info to know…

Or is it good Bush leak media to bolster his ratings? He has been known to tell a lie or two and even make stuff up. Wonder if this is just another example of “your Grand Oil Party” at work for your well being??

How many attcks against NYC have been “foiled” since Congress cut the city’s homeland security funding? This is even more suspicious than Ken Lay croaking so conveniently.

A large part of the “plan” these guys had was that blowing up this UNDERGROUND tunnel would somehow “FLOOD MANHATTAN”???? Well unless these guys knew how to make water run uphill or unless they had some idea of Manhattan sinking, I say they weren’t smart enough to be dangerous! This “plot” is about as deep as a bugs bunny cartoon!

I don’t think there is anything to this beyond some pissed off people in a chat room getting caught by eyes that were ready to see something.

    Get Osama, then we’ll talk.

Did they say how the intelligence was obtained, if they’re stupid enough to be communicatin over electronic transmissions, I doubt they were smart enough to pull it off.

Quick! Somebody call the DNC and ask them to fund a legal defense fund for these suppose terrorist. They are innocent and have been entrapped by the Bush Administration. BushCo used Domestic wiretapping on this and that goes against their civil rights.

They need to be set free!

In a televised interview on CNN, Mr. Schumer said the plot “was caught in its early stages,” and said that it had not gotten beyond the talking stage.

“There’s no evidence that anything was ever done, no purchase of explosives or even the sending of money,” he said.It seems somebody wrote something on the internet, next we’ll be hearing it was a couple of 13 yr. olds.

JR,The Holland Tunnel connects lower Manhattan to northern New Jersey. Ifsomeone blew it up, all the traffic caught up in it would be underwater. It is certainly feasible to do this, even with low-grade explosives. Those watchamacallits are not to be underestimated.

So… why are some leaks good (if done by the bushies) and some leaks are bad (if done by the WSJ, LA TIMES, and NYT)?

I seem to see a double standard here.

    Bush leaks = good.

    All other leaks = bad.

Anyone who disagress with the above hates america, loves the terrorists…

…and their feet must stink ’cause they dont love jesus.

    Just another day in ‘merica.

Why do you think many are running away from him.

If I were you, I wouldn’t worry about the Republicans. I would worry about your own party, the Democrats.

It’s a damn shame you guys are throwing Lieberman overboard. He is one of the few upstanding good guys you have left.

If nothing else, this latest foil was another reminder to Americans that we are still hated by many for all that our country stands for and holds dear. We all must be observant in whatever our surroundings, but we must continue on, living in freedom, not allowing terrorists to play upon our fears.

It’s not the terrorist who are playing on your fears! Unless you consider Republican leaders to be terrorist.
