Interesting article in The Pitch about the legal problems of conservative state Rep. Patricia Kilpatrick, R-Overland Park, who is leaving the Legislature amid reports of not paying bills and being arrested for shoplifting.

Sounds like she practices typical GOP fiscal responsibility.
“She had run for office on a basic conservative platform — anti-gun control, anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage — and won with 66 percent of the vote”
Seems like thats all you need to be about to get elected these days. It worked for Bush, and it worked for her.
Her and Connie Morris should hang out!!!
The irresponsibility of this woman is breathtaking. It makes you wonder if there is not something else really wrong with this picture.
Is she the poster girl for conservative irresponsibility, or does she have some disorder in need of treatment?
Looks like she’s suffering from the Winona Ryder complex. Don’t you just love people who have money but shoplift anyway? Kind of like those punk-ass Duke University students charging shit off other people’s credit cards.
I wonder if you can blame it on the Bush Economy.
Man! Does Johnson County have anybody good up there? Wasn’t there another Republican Candidate just got slammed in prison?
If you or I had a record like that, we’d be in jail. What a Ditz!
“Clarence Thomas took a stern tone in his dissenting opinion of Hamdan vs. Rumsfeld, accusing Justice John Paul Stevens of having an ‘unfamiliarity with the realities of warfare.’ Of course, Stevens is unfamiliar with the realities of warfare because he only served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945, whereas Thomas is an expert because while he never actually served in the military he once played ‘Command & Conquer’ on his friend’s PC.
Presumably Thomas failed to join the military because he had other priorities, such as practicing his sexual harrassment techniques.”

Nice try, Gert. But you got the wrong thread.
Correct XXX – but a heck of a good read anyway. The same things could be said about ALL the armchair generals on the Bush administration.
Wow Phillip! If she was pro-something you liked would you have still used a similar title? If she was a pro-choice lib would you have even touched on this story? Swenson gets a DUI and you praise him for “being honest”. Hell, he waited like 2 months to talk and that’s because the story was about to break. Driving drunk can and does kill people. Shoplifting, while wrong, is not deadly. But Swenson votes the way the way the Eagle likes so cut him some slack and attack those we don’t like. Phillip, Kilpatrick is an idiot and Kansas is better off with her dumbass out of Topeka, but you putting the pro-life tag on this makes you as dumb as her!
A lying thief with no integrity, but hell, I bet the good pious voters of kansas would have elected her again.
God (antichoice)Guns (antiguncontrol) andGays (antigaymarriage)
hehehe
Works every time in kansas
When oh WHEN will the sheeple wake up? Hehehe. In kansas? When gabriel blows his horn.
Thanks for agreeing to the blog policeman, XXX. I don’t know how we ever got along without you before.
Sigh… Philip, please explain what a person’s position on abortion has to do with failings in other parts of their lives.
Do ya suppose that a pro-choice person or two might have messed up at some point?
Jeesh, you’re a professional journalist?
Steve, are you still hanging around men’s bathrooms?
Maybe Mrs. Kilpatrick was FORCED to shoplift. Perhaps as an anti-abortion person, she had too many children to feed to provide for them within the constraints of the law. Or maybe all those chi-chi stores in OP had too many enticing goods that were just too darned pricey. ; )
That’s pro-life for you. Execute any and all suspected criminals, take part in graft, bribery and corruption, then take a stand for the Pro-life side and all is forgiven.
Steve is renting a mens bathroom at a local park, and lives rather comfortably there.
Shees, Clarence Thomas may be the dumbest member of the Supreme Court, but his so-called harrasement of Anita Hill was never proven. In fact the opposite may be true in that case. There seemed to be more evidence supporting Anita Hill’s harrasement of Thomas, than the other way around. To use that as a talking point is cherry picking nonsense. Might as well bring up Clintons transgerssions.
It’s way old hat, and does nothing for the Democrat party. Start setting up a platform for real change and stop this “sticks and stones” nonsense.
As for the thread topic, XXX already said it best: State Rep. Patricia Kilpatrick, R-Overland Park, would be in jail if she were one of us and not in her position. What strikes me is her job offer as the director of government affairs for the Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation in Homosassa Springs, Florida.
Whom did she pay off, and with what? What “favors” were passed on in order for her to get such a position? Will she be on someones radar to see if she repeats her usual abnormal behavior?
This woman hardly has earned that position. In fact she should be flipping burgers at best . . . in a woman’s institution. Maybe she should be the one walking around with a tracking device. She certainly has no business being associated with any government agency.
She seems to have an impressive disconnect between her “Do as I say,” and her “Do as I do.”It’s nice to have values and morals, but at some point you have to live your life by them or they’re just that much bullshit. I see a lot of that in the “values” crowd, and it makes me wonder; are those values and morals there to impress their audience, or do they really mean something to them? Sometimes it takes incidents like this to let us know who really believes their own rhetoric and who’s just shovelling the shit!
She lost her new position after they found out about her problems. She probably needs to seek some help. There is something wrong and she should get it addressed.
None of her actions have anything with being pro-life, pro-conceal/carry or conservative. It is poor journalism to think it does. Actions always speak louder than words and that is why you should check out a person that is running for office and see what they have really done not just listening to what they say they have done.
I hope she gets some help.
STS,It goes to the question of integrity, and the conservatives notion that they have a corner on values simply by preaching theirs!Kilpatrick talked that talk while stealing behind the voters backs. Obviously she doesn’t believe in the values she insists the rest of us must follow. That’s hypocrisy, which some of you in the RR seem to confuse with integrity.
