11 percent rating isn’t much to brag about

Ken Canfield boasts on his campaign Web site that he was the front-runner among GOP gubernatorial candidates in a recent SurveyUSA poll. Well, Canfield had an 11 percent favorable rating, compared with 9 percent for Jim Barnett and 7 percent for Robin Jennison. Canfield doesn’t mention that he had a 16 percent unfavorable rating, compared with 15 percent for Barnett and 17 percent for Jennison. Where the three candidates scored high was in being unknown to voters: 42 percent of those surveyed were unfamiliar with Canfield and Barnett, and 45 percent were unfamiliar with Jennison. Meanwhile, 64 percent of Kansans polled by SurveyUSA (including 62 percent of Republicans) had a favorable opinion of Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

Oh, Brownlee, Here you come with them fancy numbers. What do they really mean, anyways? You can’t tell me, I am sure. Does that mean I haves to read Brent Castillo to find out the real truth?

Canfield’s unfav rating is probably directly proportional to the number of his yard signs that are illegally placed.

I now believe that Kansas State Senator, Jim Barnett, a doctor from Emporia, is the best candidate for Kansas Governor. If everyone supports and encourages him, he could eliminate our largely ceremonial current Kansas governor, Sebelius, from the governor’s office. We need to return the Kansas Governor’s office to the working world once again.

Note: a good article about Jim Barnett is in today’s Wichita EAGLE.

I want to know how Barnett will (a) increase school funding (b) cut taxes and (c) no casinos. Sounds like what Bush 1 called “VooDoo economics”

Robin Jennison is far the best of the group. He is the only one that stands a chance to beat Sebelius.

If Barrnet or Canfield wins, you’re going to see a re-election landslide for Selebius like no other governor in history.

Barrnet isn’t much more than another Shallenburger.

Jennison and Canfield are such strong candidates that they cant raise enough money to be on tv? And people think they have the best chance of beating the money machine Sebelius? Oh please. At least Barnett can put together enough coin to be on TV two weeks out from the election.

hehehe. I wonder if they are thinking this over at the barnett camp.

“hit the ball, drag susan. Hit the ball, drag susan. Hit the ball, drag susan.”

Maybe THAT is why he NEEDS to be on tv. Start counteracting that drag right now!

Front runner or no, none of the r boys are gonna stop governor leadership from cruiseing to her second coronation. And on to challenge god’s senator in ‘08.

So please, let big jim and his little dog susan advertise all day long. Keeps the republican money away from candidates who might actually win a legislative race or two.

    heheheheheh

Actually, values boy probably wears a bracelet that says “what does ken mehlman want me to do?”

He is nothing but a REPUBLICAN shill dressed up in values drag like a cheap queen.

Do the DEMOCRATS get their own column every week too?

    Thought not.

Nice work WE. Blur that line a little more, would ya? Not enough nut cases in ks yet.

Having the most money doesn’t mean you get elected or selected.

All three have money bags. There are, what, 8 candidates for the Republican nominee? The top three are battling it out, but the other 5 will spiphon at least 15% of the vote. So for somebody to win, they would just need 29% of the vote.

Once again the the Republican base goes for the candidate farthest right, the self-proclaimed “fathering expert.”

You can almost hear the Dems funnelling money to local candidates, since the governor’s race is once again a lock.

I like the fact that he wants more government involvement in the lives of families. Our ticket needs this type of issue to go to the forefront.

MORE government involement in my family’s life and affairs? MORE?

LESS intrusion into our lives by the government, at any level, is needed – not more.
