Thanks for the great meet-up

Thanks again to all of you who attended the meet-up Thursday night. A good time was had by all — especially by the editorial staff. I appreciate your suggestions for how to improve the blog. If you think of other ideas, please let me know.

    Dear Phillip,

    Sorry I was late! Found out it takes me more than one hour to eat all the German food I want!

    Meeting was very informative and I really appreciate the fact that the editors took the time to host us.

    Hopefully the you all can make the next meet-up, where ever/when ever.

    It was a real treat to get to shake everyone’s hands and say Hi.

    I thought all of the editorial staff present were very generous for talking to a bunch of goof-balls like us :)

    Just shows we can all work together for a common goal even if we don’t always see eye to eye. Great discussion, great ideas, I think we’re headed in the right direction. Enjoyed seeing “already friends” again and meeting some new friends.

    The only people that are going to the meet ups are the people that are basically happy with the Blog as it is.

    You’re not hearing anything from the people who have left in disgust.

    The blog at the very least should require a log-in so the editors can ban disruptors.

    Otherwise, anybody can say anything . . . just like it is now.

    We did actually talk about that some.

    I think they want to philosophically want to stay out of it as much as possible.

    As far as format goes, it is ran by knightridder and they don’t have much control over changing it.

    Man, if you don’t like the way it is, do something to change it. If you don’t like the way the country is run, do you stay away from the polls? The meet up was a forum to present ideas. Anybody that didn’t show up really has no reason to complain.

    I don’t see that many “disruptors” and the ones who show up are usually quickly dispatched.

    One of the people who complains about this the loudest is one of the worst offenders.

    Silence is acceptance.

    Steve, the blog is a format provided by TypePad and administered by Knight Ridder. It’s a “canned” product. One of the things we discussed was the way names are displayed….some people find that confusing. That can’t be changed, because TypePad doesn’t offer that option.

    I think that the blog is fin as is, but I wish that Rhonda would stop nixing some of my greatest hits.

    I see, also, that galahad/pl/lh/tb/loveboat/etc/etal is back and once agin bucking for the job of blog comissar in charge of banning and censorship. :)

    Hey nic switcher? I have stood in your defense in the past. Even when I was not sure who I was standing for. Even at the expense of taking shots for you.

    I don’t know exactly what your problem is. But XXX is a friend of mine and as I have posted, I must side with him in disagreements between he and “all” of you. See I know HIM. He does not skulk about under multiple nics. A practice I find at best disingenous and take to the degree that you do intolerable. To whit, go after X and I’ll be right behind you and not in the sense of supporting ya. You probably won’t understand this phrase but if you are in his “6″ I’ll be in yours.

    I’ve something of a rep as a particularly nasty “enemy” to have. Remember CrusaderX? Back off.

    Tracy,I am surprised at your lack of understanding. If Ian were deported back to Cuba, he would be met with total joy and understanding. Castro would show him off to the world as an example of how perfect Communism is. Problem is, Ian would probably be attached to a street light somehow.

    Back home…long ride. the cult didnt show, but I stood with a couple hundred brothers and sisters in honor of a fallen soldier. Missed the meetup, maybe next time.

    Maybe the lawsuits are having an impact on ‘ole Fred? I hope that people fighting back through litigation instead of “not sinking to their level” or “rising above it all by ignoring them” is making those assholes think twice about their hateful, slanderous tactics. Hitting someone in their pocketbook can have a pretty powerful impact.—–
    Glad to hear the meet up went well. I am back from CO. Caught fish, cleaned and ate them Saturday.

    I had the “opportunity” to watch Fox News at points during the trip. I don’t subscribe to cable for fear my kids and I would watch TV more, rather than less.

    This weekend the Fox News big stories were the “WMD” found in Iraq and the arrest of the “terrorists” in Miami. These story servings were heaped with their disdain that the MSM was ignoring these stories.

    How many of the self-proclaimed conservatives here get their news exclusively from Fox News? After seeing just a little bit of it, I understand how Cheney (who as alleged on this blog gets his news solely from Fox) can say some of the things he does.

    Parallel universes do indeed exist.

    XXX and JR,You guys crack me up!!! I’m trying to breathe (as I have this weight pressing on my diaphram right now) and you making me laugh isn’t helping but I needed that laugh. Thanks!I hope you guys have my 6 when I’m off on maternity leave but I’m so addicted to this blog thing that I may just be off for a few days. That will be interesting reading – my posts while severly sleep deprived. :)
