An overlooked (deliberately?) change in the Senate immigration bill is that it would dramatically increase legal immigration. Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson reported: “By rough projections, the Senate bill would double the legal immigration that would occur during the next two decades from about 20 million (under present law) to about 40 million.” He noted that the change is at odds with a recent Pew Research Center poll, in which only 17 percent of the public favored in increased level of legal immigration. But his biggest complaint is that the issue hasn’t been openly debated, either by politicians or the media.

I wonder if the scum on the hill ever actually read the bills that they sign? In any event, their votes and signatures are on the record and will be used as evidence against them at a later time, I am sure.
V.L.R.B!!!
Which do you think takes longer:a) Travel to a woman’s country and marry her, then bring her over here; orb) Visit the woman’s country, then bring her over here, signing a paper saying you’ll shack up with her for 90 days before getting married?Answer: b, usually accomplished in 3-6 months. a) takes about two years. What is wrong with this picture, which, by the way, was brought to you by the “family-friendly” Reagan administration.
This is not Guest Workers also. The doubling of legal immigration includes allowing substantial increase in H-1 Visas for skilled foriegners, such as engineers and software programers from India and China. Plus! All the nurses and doctors that we can get.
Is doubling legal immigration a good idea?
Since when does the Administration and/or Congress care what we, the people think?
Well, every time I bring up population problems, the conservatives tell me there’s no such thing, that everybody in the world could live in the state of Texas! So, maybe it’s time to put it to the test. Let’s let in everybody that wants to come, with the provision that they live in Texas. I do have a feeling that I wouldn’t want to be in line for the restroom.
Why don’t all 300 million of us move to Mexico and give them a taste of what they’re giving us?
