As our leaders struggle to bring liberty to other parts of the world, we must not forget the struggles for freedom that have been fought within our own borders. Juneteenth — today’s holiday commemorating the end of slavery after the Civil War — celebrates those hard-fought freedoms. It marks the day in 1865 that slaves in Texas finally received the news — 2¬? years late — that they had been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. Now more than a century later, information can be spread across the globe in a matter of seconds, but freedom still travels slowly. Far too many are waiting on it.

Leftist and dictorial governments keep freedom from the vast majority of those living under it.

You may be correct though on the second part. The dictator in chief here DOES want to keep freedom the sole province of straight, white, rich, middle aged, christian, republcian men.

Cynthia McKinney was the subject of more than one thread when the neocons needed a distraction from Tom Delay and the Culture of Corruption. She was accused of ASSAULTING a capital policeman.
But when she is UNindicted? When the grand jury determined she should not be charged? When the grand jury decides she is just as innocent as KKKarl Rove?
Rove gets a couple of threads for being unindicted. And Cynthia is equally unindicted and she gets…. what?
