Eight months on trial, three defense lawyers down

The murder of another of Saddam Hussein’s lawyers (in photo) shows again how difficult the situation is in Iraq — the abductors were wearing police uniforms — and how uncertain it is whether Iraq’s legal system will be able to deliver justice in this case. Also of concern is that another member of the defense team blames the United States for no longer providing security to the lawyers, which the United States denies. Saddam’s trial must not be another casualty of this war.

And we’re still there? Doesn’t anybody but a few see the foolishness of trying to impose a democratic government there? These people have been doing this for the last twenty centuries. Get a clue: We aint going to change them!

It’s the fault of the culturally clueless Republicans.

Walker: Don’t be such a pessimist! It’s not genetic. All it takes is one generation to change everything.

So that is like 20 years.

Well no wonder we are building bases there!

There was never ever any real hope of diversity+democracy prevailing in Iraq. Of course, the whole thing was never meant to succeed. The shiia, sunni and kudrs would just as soon kill each other, much like hutu and tutsi did in rwanda. Certain “peoples are incapable of democracy.

    V.L.R.B!!

“Saddam’s trial must not be another casualty of this war.”

Another casualty? You mean like these soldiers?

    http://stevegilliard.blogspot.com/

But the republicans, during the so called war “debate” (read political grandstanding) have made it clear, they have no problem giving AMNESTY to iraqi soldiers who killed americans. Why? Just because the head of their puppet government says so.

amnesty for iraqis who butcher americans = good

    amnesty for mexicans = bad

Now THERE is republican logic for you. No wonder they support torture! Look at their logic.
