Republicans and Democrats might be wise to find new blood in a 2008 presidential candidate. Close to half of Americans polled this week said they would “definitely not vote for” Hillary Clinton (47 percent), John Kerry (47 percent) and Al Gore (48 percent). And more than half of those polled — 63 percent — said they would not vote for Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani got better responses, with about 30 percent saying they wouldn’t vote for them. Maybe Democrats pushing for a run by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama have the right idea (see next blog item).

I have heard rumors from very well informed sources that Pat Buchanan may return to the GOP and run for president with Tom Tancredo as his VP. If that turns out to be the case then I may have to vote republican again, despite pledging never to do so back in 1990.
In any event, nobody named clinton or bush should ver be allowed to hold public office again.
V.L.R.B!!!
Sounds like they polled Republicans. I know a lot of Dems who would vote for Gore, the rightful president.
Okay, bring it on, repubs! LOL
That is a good point, Hillary is out, I voted for Kerry in 2004 but it was like having a date with the second runner up in the beauty pageant. Dems you should have put Edwards first! Gore well he ahhh, shoot if Jeb Bush comes up on the Republican side maybe. But you better choice wisely 2008 could be your year if the party gets a good plan and the right person.
As for the republicans, anyone with the stench of the Neo-cons, R.R., The PNAC or the entire G.W. love fest is out!The party has a gaping wound from this war and this administration, the main stream better have woken up to this or we will have lost the party for good. And I might add the country with it. Mc Cain to me is a fifty/fifty. He had lost and gain my respect more times then I can count. But I still have some hope he can stand up.

It’s hard to be president when you’re in jail for war-crimes, waiting for the man with the rope to show-up.
Bush has got to pay the price for killing our soldiers and all those Iraqis.
We owe that much to America.
No thread on Cynthia McKinney being as free as KKKarl Rove.
No thread on David Safavian, the white house chief of procurement, being convicted of four felony counts of corruption.
No thread on Denny Hastert and his greasy land deal, and no thread on the culture of corruption.
No thread on the right wing attacks on the families of dead hero troops. Or how america’s policy of torture coming back to haunt our own troops.
But we DO get a recycled thread on the bush/clinton dynesty battle, and a guy who has said he isnt even running for prez?
Yes, I see that liberal bias. I see the cutting edge threads we get. No wonder the real deal is in the open threads.
You don’t get to dictate what topics goes on the WE Blog. It’s up to the authors of this blog.
Back on topic. I still think the Democrats are going to take their chance with Hillary and I hope so too. Nobody on the Democrat side has the brand that she does and she can raise TONS of cash, something the DNC can use a little help with.
After the election of 2006, we will see all the candidates come out of the woodwork. You thought the divided Democrat camp was crowded before the primaries in 2004, wait until you see 2008. I’ll suspect at least 20 candidates on the Democrat side with Hillary on top of the pyramid.
The Republican side I would suspect 4 of them. John McCain and Gorge Allen as the front runners and it will be tight.
If Hilary runs the rebubs will have the white house for 8 more years, which wouldn’t be so bad if McCain is in it.
Newt and Condi. That’s all I got to say.

Rice is a keynote speaker for AIPAC, just what America needs.
A V-P who would pass our top-secrets directly to the Israeli Embassy, leave this country in a diplomatic pouch, to be sold to China.
What ever happened to loyalty?
Hank, that’s FUNNY!GOOD ONE!
Ebony and ivory, ruling together in harmony…………..
Please oh PLEASE grant Hank his bizarre unwinnable wish!
AL GORE is the rightful President. I hope he forgives the corruption of politics and the stupidity of a large portion of America and gives it another go. America now must prove it is worthy of Al Gore.
JR
If baby rapers and meth cookers could vote Al Gore would indeed have won the 2000 election. A real glowing endorsement of Democrats don’t you think?
GET OVER IT, for your health.
I see the felons voting lie/meme must have been in the talking points as it is appearing today in several threads from several republican/right wing posters.
meme alert
The dems couldn’t even beat the chimp. I don’t see that changing.
It’s odd that 60 some percent of Americans say they “wouldn’t vote for Gore.”
Over 50 percent of those who voted in the last election in which he ran voted FOR him.
JR is absolutely right.
Al Gore is America’s president in exile. The Republicans have held America hostage for 8 years.
And look at the result–FUBAR.
whoops . . . make that going on 6 years.
Alfred, why do you hate america? Why do you love the terrorists? Why do you hate the troops?
Alfred, why do you hate america? Why do you love the terrorists? Why do you hate the troops?
Are you just a felon that the democrats want to vote?
hee hee hee hee hee hee hee heeeeee
Right on, KSFGRL! Let’s see the blog starters on the Republican felons!
And check this out–in 1999 under Clinton, 417 companies fined for illegal hires. Last year under Bush, three.

I’m both a baby raper and a meth user that hates the troops.
That’s why I voted for Gore!
I find a lot of reference to polls in comentary but I can’t find any links to these polls. Democrats seem to reference them as well as Republicans. But I can’t find the polls. Oh well, here’s some good comentary.
Exerpt.
“The same strategy is driving Clinton’s proposal to let ex-cons vote ?ê she believes more people who have been convicted of felonies will vote for a Democrat than a Republican. Surely even the most partisan Democrats do not believe her claim that she is only interested in re-enfranchising criminals who have paid their debt to society. Several studies in states that allow ex-felons to vote have shown they are 70 percent or more likely to vote for Democrats than Republicans. While this explains Ms. Clinton’s true motivation it is nevertheless startling that she wants to align herself with drug dealers, pedophiles, rapists, and murderers. ”

Gosh, and where might that “commentary” come from? Hindraker? Krauthammer? Malkin? Rush?
If you found the commentary, you can post a link to it, if not the polls.
Or maybe you dont want us to know who said the “commentary”?
I sure would like to know who said this heckler:
“While this explains Ms. Clinton’s true motivation it is nevertheless startling that she wants to align herself with drug dealers, pedophiles, rapists, and murderers.”
Maybe the swiftboaters? We all know THEY dont lie! hehehehehehe
Heck–
If you can tear yourself away from the right-wing propoganda for a moment.
The felons that you cite are also Americans. The constitution doesn’t say that one has to be moral to vote, to be educated to vote, to never have committed a crime to vote.
It was only a few decades ago that blacks couldn’t vote in many places.
Criminals probably are more likely to vote Democratic, because Democrats are more interested in treating and rehabilitating criminals than punishing them. And neo-Nazis and stupid people are more likely to vote Republican.
Trying to associate crime with Democrats isn’t working, especially now that the verdicts and indictments are coming fast and furious on Scooter Libby, Jack Abramoff, David Safavian, Randy Duke Cunningham, Ken Lay, Wittig, the Republican Gov of Ohio and his treasurer Noe and all the rest.
Why do you hate america Alfred?
Oh, and Heck–
Speaking of child molesters, check quotes from this article in the Christian Science Monitor:
Alleged victim testifies in sexual assault trialJune 17,2006Brittney BoothMonitor Staff Writer
EDINBURG — A young girl featured in a controversial television ad during the 2000 presidential campaign testified this week that the man who developed the commercial molested her for years and forced her to watch pornography and use sex toys.
The girl, now 15, told jurors Carey Lee Cramer — a 44-year-old political consultant who gained national notoriety when he released an anti-Al Gore ad showing a young girl picking daisy petals and ending in a nuclear blast — began molesting her in the third grade, when she lived in Mercedes with him, his then-wife and her younger brother.
She told jurors Cramer began by taking her into his home office and showing her pornography when she was 8. He would touch her sexually, remove her clothing and perform deviant sexual acts on her. The incidents occurred weekly, when the girl was home alone with Cramer.
The ad for which Cramer gained national attention was produced to accuse the Clinton-Gore Administration of giving nuclear technology to China in return for campaign contributions. At the time, he refused to identify who financed the commercial.

BTK and Ted Bundy were republicans so I guess the Democrats dont have a monopoly on rapists
Heckler,
All the poll info in one place:

Enjoy!
I had the link in when I previewed, don’t know where it went. try this.

“If baby rapers and meth cookers could vote Al Gore would indeed have won the 2000 election.”
Looks like Heckler has finally gone completely off the deep end.
Heck, my friend egaR has some fashionable hats that might suit you.

Alfred, you seem familiar somehow. Do we know you?
“Alfred, you seem familiar somehow. Do we know you?”
Of course we do! He’s Alfred E.’s son!
“I know a lot of Dems who would vote for Gore, the rightful president.”
Poor Albert couldn’t even carry his home state of Tennessee. That’s all he needed to win….that or Bubba’s home state of Arkansas….couldn’t win there, either.
After the election and 3 recounts, Gore was still the loser.
Alfred P. Newman = Wayreth-Antares-TrueBlue-TB-Steve-etc. Wonder why it continues to change its name?
Rage
If you were a baby raper who would you be more likely to vote for, the party that was more likely to want to “treat” you or the party that was more likely to want to FRY you?
Good one, Patriot. But remember he is the president in exile so I guess we need to be sorry for him. Wait…is that a tear whelling up in my eye?
. . .and Heckler continues to argue with himself. . . may suggest you try baby oil?
Sorry, Heck,I’m not about to implicitly accept the numerous ludicrous premises underlying your “question.” Find another sucker.
Dems are the party of baby raping and meth cooking?
The GOP is the party of baby starving and book cooking.
It is the party of Enron and stockbrokers joking about “Grandma losing her retirement”
It is the party of “right to work” laws.
In short, it is the party that creates the societal ills that create ” baby killing” and meth cooking.
Heckler,
How many baby rapers have Republicans “fried”?
I think you’re right, zero.
The whole baby raper bit, is just recycled Ann Coulter. Let’s try something, else. Okay?
Rage, however, thanks for the recycled tin foil hat bit. I fell for that hook, line, and sinker. Back on April Fool’s day I tried to click on the link and then read the egaR. Still cracks me up!
