In this case, I was parodying the Wingnut/nutjob claim (by Values Boy among others) that gay marriage somehow undermines the institution of marriage. Such an argument is homophobic nonsense dressed up in a pious concern for traditional marriage.

Marriage, so far, has weathered the attacks upon it. I fear that it may not survive the efforts of its would-be ‘defenders’.

kfg you are right on “values boy” I just read his column. He proves again what we see in the blogs everyday. Intolerance and self rigtheuosness they do take a toll on writing style. My reiview? Trite, with just a hint of pedantic.
