Maybe you missed the tomato plant-Iraq connection

It seems that low poll numbers may have the White House grasping at straws — or maybe it’s straw. President Bush is now enlisting the help of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in selling the war in Iraq. A Washington Post column said that an e-mail went out to USDA appointees, asking that they incorporate White House talking points on Iraq into every speech they give. And just in case anyone at the USDA was wondering how to seamlessly transition from Iraq to, say, tomatoes, the White House provided this ready-made segue: “The Iraqis have also discussed specific products, like tomatoes, which they are anxious to export into the world community.”

TRACY! You’re back! How’s it going?

You been following the stuff about the meetup on the Open Threads? At Watson Park on May 13th, 3:30 p.m. Assuming that most of the characters here aren’t 1 person with 16 personalities, it looks like there might be quite a large group in attendance.

Great- Mr. Potato-Head is using a tomato as a Front Man. A few more Fruit-loops, and we might be onto something.

Yeah, I’ll be back to comment, I just can’t make it to Watson Park anytime soon. I think I’ve commented on pretty much every Kansas blog I could find. Not that anyone cares, it’s just another bad habit.

Good things are happening in Iraq. The rebuilding process is pretty amazing. They are much better off now than before with Saddam.

Joe? Did you actually READ any of the contract information? Such as, say, Communications?

Check out “Projects and Proposals”The Communications Project Summary is dated Nov. 2003. All of the following are N/A:Opening and Closing Date Response DateContract Award and Solicitiation NumberContract Award Dollar AmountContract Line Item NumberContract Award DateContractor

It appears that the proposal has been made, but that’s about it. Which leads me to believe we PLAN to get the work done, but nothing IS being done…after 2 1/2 years.

Where does it list what HAS been done? We’re too busy building those 14 or 15 permanent bases (on top of Babylon, natch) and that record-sized U.S. Embassy.

    Yeah, we’re really “rebuilding Iraq.”

    RD Look at the site.

“The U.S. government is building and restoring key pieces of Iraq’s infrastructure” There is a link and a PDF file.

There are other sites that list great accomplishment also. Iraq infrustructure and health facilities are my better shape and equip than before Saddam. Including masses of individuals vaccinated that have never been before.

Good things are happening there. Go USA! Iraq is going to be a good country and ally of ours forever.

    :)

I cant wait until we nuke iran into being our long time good friend and ally too. I bet it will work just as well as it did in iraq. Maybe better since it will involve the shock and awe of at least one, maybe more, mushroom clouds over the middle east.

Too bad the shock and awe of democracy werent as attractive. Maybe if democracy caused people to glow in the dark? Naaaaaaw….
