The latest AP-Ipsos poll has President Bush’s approval rating at 33 percent, the lowest of his presidency. And fewer and fewer conservatives are willing to back Bush. Forty-five percent of self-described conservatives disapprove of him, and 65 percent of conservatives disapprove of the Republican-controlled Congress. You can bet this means Karl Rove will be pulling out all the stops for the midterm elections.

People are belatedly waking up to the fact that shrub is neither Christian nor conservative. Shrub is simply an errand boy for the zionist nwo and a damned traitor!
Viva La Revolucion Blanco!!!
In a subsequent poll they found that only a third of the US population has their heads up their a$$es. Coincidence?
Great. Another anonymous client IPSOS poll being presented as news instead of the paid advertisment that it is. Remember, they are “Shattering the myths of customer loyality!”
One would hope Carl Rove would pull out all possible stops and move to Iraq.
Congress is the largest problem. Bush will be bye bye soon and the next few years he will be a lame duck.
Zionist Israel is running the United States, using people they own in all branches of government, draining out treasury, making our laws, and wreaking havoc on the world. And until we root-out those maggots { starting now } things will continue to worsen.
Those people are dangerous and rotten to the core.
Right wingnut radio personality Doug McIntyre said he was wrong about bush. He agreed that bush is the worst. president. ever.
http://www.kabc.com/mcintyre/listingsEntry.asp?ID=432586&PT=McIntyre+in+the+Morning
I’ve always said if you like Bush’s first four yrs. you’ll love his last 4!
ksfarmgrrl
In part Doug McIntyre said:
“send our sons and daughters to fight and die in a distraction from the real war on terror,”
ksfarmgrrl, Until we understand there is no “real war on terror” and “terror” is a misnomer for, and excuse for preemptive attacks and other Middle East nations, there is no end to attacking enemies which Israel creates.
Israel needs to abide by international law, enforced by the United States. That approach to our foreign policy will bring about a peaceful solution.
How quiet the right-wing bloggers are on this one . . . where’re Heckler, ID, Raptor, Hank and Nathan to support their POS Liar-in-Chief.
Not one word?
How the mighty have fallen . . .
LeftHook,
You’re a kinder man than I, to use the word ‘mighty’ in conjuction with our Right-wing blog compadres.
The MCIntyre article was dead on!!!
The only thing I disagree is the Democrats have no plan. Yes they do, its just nobody gives it a listen. Biden, Kerry, Wesley Clark have all had good plans, but right-wing politicians shoot them down as un-patriotic because it might hurt Haliburtons revenue if we actually have some type of withdrawal from Iraq. If you look at the donations being given to politicians from Haliburton it will make you sick to your stomach and make you wonder why were in Iraq to begin with.
kfg, it took McIntyre how long to realize this? We (the peace loving, tree hugging, liberal traitors) have been saying that for how many years?
Pat Buchanan also had shrub pegged as a traitor and a disaster from the get go! In truth, there ain’t much difference between the traitor shrub and the traitor clinton.
V.L.R.B!!!
Indeed, k. But since they’re finally coming around, I guess I feel as happy as this guy:
http://www.gahanwilson.com/pbc1ithinkiwon.htm
At best it is a bitter victory. We are still stuck with the dumbass in chief, a republikan controlled congress that does as they are told (by those in power) in exchance for being allowed to spend however much they want on whatever they want, and a court system now stacked with judges who don’t care about the law as much as they do about protecting corporations and lining their pockets. A very bitter victory indeed, because unless your salary is in the 8 figure range you lost.
Robert V. Remini, retired professor of history at the the University of Illinois-Chicago, and now Historian of the House of Representatives, has pointed out that James Madison, the lead author of the Constitution, viewed the Congress as being the nation’s foremost power, and the President as a secondary power.
Remini states that Madison, and the other framers wanted to create a government that blended monarchy, oligarchy and democracy. But they didn’t want a King George, because that didn’t work for Americans. Remini talks about Andrew Jackson and Abraham Lincoln reversing the power balance that the framers intended. It’s obvious from reading the Constitution that Remini’s opinion is correct. This is why Article I of the Constitution is the longest article. Article II (executive branch) is shorter. Article III (judiciary) is shortest.
Nixon’s fall reestablished the primary power of the Congress. The George Bush administration is trying to reestablish the unconstitutional model of a presidential-primary power.
So in our president, we see a failed businessman. we see a man who lost the popular vote, but “won” with a campaign promise to be “an Education President”, and “A uniter, not a divider.”Nice words, but he completely forgot his campaign pledge after being elected. He decided, after Republicans gained majorities in both houses of Congress, that he didn’t have to work with Democrats. He decided to not veto legislation but to write his own interpretations of legislation. Or his handlers did for him.
He decided to become a “War President”. Even though he had never fought in any war. Notice, the military has a lot of young women today. The President’s daughters are not among them. War is for Mr. Bush to command, and OTHER PEOPLE’S CHILDREN to be put in harm’s way. That’s a bad equation. If the war in Iraq is right, why aren’t the Bush daughters over there, willing to self-sacrifice themselves for this right mission? Of course, if it is bogus, one can understand why they are not participating.
Yeah, heartlander, Remini is basically right, except it bears mentioning that the Civil War established the 14th amendment, and with it, gradually destroyed the notion that states could violate rights that the federal gov’t could not. Madison wanted the Bill of Rights to apply to the state gov’ts, but that didn’t exactly happen.
News item: Crap! They’re REDUCING the number of voting machines! Better make plans to advance vote:
http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/14519772.htm
These reductions in voting machines are brought about by the”Help America Vote Act”. Sort of has a Rovian ring to it like “Clear Sky Initiative”.
It accomplishes the Republican goal of reducing the number of voters. We will have to see if this advance voting is all that it is claimed to be.
Hook–
Enjoy your dancing and your giddiness. Personally, I feel let down and very disappointed. Have fun with your glee.
Had anyone foreseen this turn of events, I am pretty sure the election would have been different. But, being unable to tell the future means we take our chances. Of course, you and your buddies forecast gloom and doom no matter what, but that is expected.
Enjoy your gloating, Hook. All I see is sadness.
Sympathies raptor. That’s the way I felt with Nixon (Yeah, I voted for him).
“Of course, you and your buddies forecast gloom and doom no matter what, but that is expected.”
That’s kind of a low shot, “but that is expected.” We’ve been telling you for years now that you elected “President Stupid”, but of course we were “moonbats” crying out from “the swamp”.
Republican control has given us the most dangerously corrupt government in a century. So what are you going to do about it, Raptor? Vote fro the status quo, or vote for change?
Had enough?
Raptor–
“Had anyone foreseen this turn of events, I am pretty sure the election would have been different.”
You touch on a good point. I don’t see myself as some kind of mental giant. I think of myself as just an ordinary person who takes the time to get informed.
And what I saw sitting here in little old Wichita, Kansas was exactly what transpired over the coming years–
1. massive tax cuts for the rich will lead to massive, historically high deficits.
It did.
2. invading and occupying a foreign country like Iraq will result in a nationalist backlash exactly like the British experienced in the American colonies, the French in Algeria, the British in Ireland, the United States in Vietnam, the Russians in Chechnya etc. etc.
It did.
3. The evidence that Saddam Hussein had ties to terror, has weapons of mass destruction, and could deliver those weapons even if he had them had never been established.
It was perfectly obvious that BushCo was using 9-11 as a pretext to do what they wanted to do since the mid-90’s, overthrow Saddam and install a puppet gov’t happy to do US bidding.
It’s perfectly obvious if the gov’t does nothing while people are trapped inside New Orleans immediately after a hurricane hits, a lot of those people will needlessly die.
The perfectly obvious turned out to be true.
Maybe if you hadn’t spent so much time memorizing the Swift Boat talking points and watching Fox news, you could have seen what’s perfectly obvious too.
“But, being unable to tell the future means we take our chances. Of course, you and your buddies forecast gloom and doom no matter what, but that is expected.”
Why is it “gloom and doom” to say that cutting taxes means cutting revenue and that means running deficits? Why is it “gloom and doom” to say repeating Vietnam is not a good idea? Why is it “gloom and doom” to say hurricane victims need immediate help?
LASTLY, as far as gloating over your man’s manifest failure as President, I AM NOT. Bush is what he is. He never changes, no matter what happens.
I am deeply saddened that the greatest country in the world is led by the worst possible man.
But for YOU and your right-wing ILK that enabled President Liar to do what he’s done, I am ANGRY. Hell yes, I’m angry.
People like you did it to us. Now we all get to stew in the hot water YOU brewed.
A German paper asked President AWOL what his best moment as President has been and here’s what he said–
BERLIN, May 7, 2006 (Reuters) — U.S. President George W. Bush told a German newspaper his best moment in more than five years in office was catching a big perch in his own lake. “You know, I’ve experienced many great moments and it’s hard to name the best,” Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001. “I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound (3.402 kilos) perch in my lake,” he told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday. (Source)
See, I would have gone with “saving lives after a natural disaster,” but OurManlyMan goes with the giant perch.
Perfect. He’s a walking joke of himself.
Raptor
I concur with the above. I’d add this.
If this blog went back to 1998, you could go back and read my predictions of exactly what has occurred. The only failing I would have had was not predicting just HOW bad it would be.
I take no joy in misery shared Raptor. Whatever glee I have is in the vein of “I told you so!” It is reinorced also by the knowledge that MANY on your side took great pleasure in rubbing salt in the wound that was the 2000 election. Some on your side not only stuck us with this mess; they stuck their finger in our eye doing it.
I do though, as I said on another thread, sympathize to an extent. I got just what I expected and worse outta this guy so I didn’t get betrayed. How much worse for someone who actually voted their trust to this.
Geez Left that is pathetic! But not unexpected.
I’d think his proudest moment would be the rubble pile speech and the few days following. Of course maybe not since he has since destroyed all the unity and good will of that day and then some.
Hook..
Stick with the facts, will you? Your gross generalizations of:
“Maybe if you hadn’t spent so much time memorizing the Swift Boat talking points and watching Fox news, you could have seen what’s perfectly obvious too.”
are insulting, untrue, and nothing but cheap shots. FYI, I rarely watch Fox (prefer CNN), did not gloat or get involved in the swift boat thing.
You are tiresome in your ranting and failure to see past your own blinders. Not everyone who disagrees with you is a rabid, frothing at the mouth worshipper of Rush Limbaugh. Open your eyes.
Okay, maybe YOU didn’t watch Fox news, but you still voted for Worst. President. Ever. didn’t you?
Enjoy your “victory.”
BTW, Rap, how about the other points I made?
I conceded everything. I bow down before your wisdom, your all powerful knowledge, your perfection in foretelling the truth.
Got the winning lotto numbers for Wednesday?
Well, you can make fun if it makes you feel better, Rap.
But if the old paradigm doesn’t work anymore, why keep doing the same thing?
I have a world-view like most people. But if I see events unfold that make me reconsider, I’m perfectly willing to do so.
For instance, if tax breaks for the wealthy really stimulated the economy so much that tax revenues went UP and lowered the deficit, then I’d be all for them.
It didn’t work when Reagan did it. It didn’t work now.
That’s why I ask, why are the right-wing incapable of changing their minds in the face of overwhelming evidence?
And why do all the rest of us have to suffer for it?
GW Bush:”I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound (3.402 kilos) perch in my lake,”
You have to admit, that was one helluva perch. I have new-found respect for the man.
The greatest perch fisherman of them all. But still, the worst-president-ever.
Yup, I agree. That’s one outstanding perch. I’d love to carve some fillets outta that one. Wonder what the state record is in Texas?
I myself have got a fishing trip to Canada planned in a couple of weeks.
Looks like it’s going to be mainly walleyes, but I don’t know why we can’t try for arctic char (what they call “lake trout”) while we’re at it.
But just because President Vacation likes to fish is no reason to cut him any slack . . . Hitler loved to play with children too.
LH,
Go for some pike too…shark of the north!! tremendous fighting fish!!
The only reason Bush lags behind Clinton in jokes is that it’s getting difficult to make a joke about him that everybody doesn’t just assume is true! He’s his own joke.
I wonder what Bush paid to have that perch placed in his lake?
Placing Perch across pond lines– it that legal? May need to put a tap on that nefarious activity!
Somewhere down in Hell, Goebbels is turning to Hitler and pointing to the television:
“See. I was right. If you repeat a lie often enough, stupid people will begin to believe it.”
DD,”I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound (3.402 kilos) perch in my lake,”You have to remember that it’s a fisherman, a republican and a texan making that statement, and substitute ounces for pounds.
31%.
NOW can we impeach the motherfucker?
CF the repuks don’t have any balls and (unfortunately) the Dems don’t have the votes. November is going to be a very interesting month as shrub tries to legalize all the crimes he has commited.
Jungle jim that is really funny!!
CF you go!!!!!!
“Had anyone foreseen this turn of events, I am pretty sure the election would have been different.”
uh raptor, all the signs were there. They were obvious even through the smoke screens of gay marriage and record deficits.
No one needed the ability to predict lottery numbers to see where the preznit, dead eye dick, and the rovster were taking this country. They won because you and your ilk WANTED what they were selling. Now you have buyers remorse?
In fact, you had to be a completely deaf and blind bushbot to not have seen or heard it coming. It was a WILLFUL ACT to ignore the culture of corruption and lies, not to mention record deficits and tax cuts in the same budget.
And that was their FIRST term.
Maybe it wasnt willful ignorance but instead, you just ENJOYED the lies and the destruction of the constitution. I mean after all, the libs were getting what they deserved, no?
Problems is that WE got what YOU deserved.
