Bush economy gets a better salesman?

In Henry M. Paulson Jr., chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, President Bush seems to have found a solid nominee to replace resigning Treasury Secretary John Snow. “The American economy is powerful, productive and prosperous, and I look forward to working with Hank Paulson to keep it that way,” Bush said Tuesday. He is right about the economy’s strength. With April unemployment at a four-year low of 4.7 percent and the economic growth expected to be at 3 percent or better the rest of the year, Paulson’s job will be to build on that strength — and to better persuade American consumers and investors that it’s worthy of their trust.

First. You believe the numbers coming out of the most untrustworty government this country has ever had?

Second: If everything thing is so “hunky-dory” why is it necessary to, in your words: ” and to better persuade American consumers and investors that it’s worthy of their trust.”

I’m not seeing a bustling economy in action with restaurants half full, malls near empty, and stores going out-of-business.

    Smell the coffee.

Bush is a liar and needs to resign.

Unemployment is at a four-year low.

In other words, it still isn’t as good as when Clinton was in office.

Bush wreaks the economy and then it improves a little in spite of him.

    Oh, goodie.

Rhonda needs to avoid sweeping generalizations like “the economy is strong”. For SOME people the economy is strong. The investor class and the independently wealthy are making out like….well, bandits. I can assure you very clearly that for the greater number of people, the vast majority, the economy is NOT strong.

The strong point here is in the absolute fact that the Bush administration places no value whatsoever on the truth.

Truth is not a consideration in either foreign or domestic policy or professional conduct.

Bush, as president of the United States sad in the White House: “The constitution is nothing but a G-D piece 0f paper” when shown where something he was suggesting was not legal.

Karl Rove has long since set the standard of: Tell them whatever they want to hear in order to gain whatever we want.

Nothing else matters. Not soldiers lives, the lives of innocent men, women or children or babies.

Israel is the same way only they openly discussion some of the misrepresentations to the point of speculating as to how to make them more believable.

Israel will never change and unless we cut all ties with them, we’re going down with them.

I just happen to believe that America is worth more than that.

Truth and Justice need to be restored as the American way.

There you go, reciting their numbers, which can not reflect those who have “given-up” and are no longer counted.

Bush will not tell the truth anyway, so what’s the point.

If the US economy was in good shape, with good prospects for the future, then this jerk doesn’t need to lecture us, now does he?

When the economy is in good shape, they people know it.

And when Jew-Gas is 4 dollars a gallon, it ain’t the “Oil Companies.”

Wish the Zionists would find another scapegoat, they’ve worn out the oil company distraction, and start living-up to all the trouble they cause.

    Ed,

You are correct, the true unemployment rate is aorund ten percent. Also, real wages have been stagnant largely because of the influx of third world vermin. In a healthy economy, and during “labor shaortages” wages will rsie and usuallu significantly!

On Friday, the House Appropriations Committee approved a $2.46 billion aid package for Israel. That takes the Zionists to over 15 billion so far this year.

    Money which they don’t need.

The Zionist-Jews just keep sucking us dry and congress won’t put a stop to it.

The Zionists have never paid back a dime. When loans come due, the congress converts them into “grants”

    Ed,

Direct aid to israel is just one revenue stream for the “chosen”. They also have their “holocau$t” reparartions racket that rakes in the big bucks.

Sweet! Another great person. He is one of the most giving philanthropist in the USA.

Kind of funny that the so called wealthy Republicans are the most giving, when wealthy Democrats don’t give a hoot about charity or giving. Just shows you the mindset of leftist Democrats.

Ian, A friendly word of advice: You’re picking fights on subject matter where you can’t win by being strident. That pulls down your credibility on subjects where you’re dead-on.

I should talk….but I do try to stay just barely “in bounds” not wondering too far.

    Even my “spell checker” has offered to kill me, but that I can understand:-}

The Zionist live under a rock and when I start prying, they do reach out and offer to kill me { which tells me I’ve scored big time }. Either that or the silent act, which spells “gotcha” to me.

I love their newest gig where the “oil companies” all got secretly together so they could pay 75 dollars a barrel for crude oil.

And they are supposedly doing that so they can charge high prices at the pump.

    That belongs on Jay Leno.

See THAT’S what I’m TALKING ABOUT!

Joe W. states unequivocally that Gates is a republican.

But here’s the truth from an actual source–”On the subject of his own politics, Gates has refused to characterize himself as conservative or liberal and declines to declare a party affiliation. He contributes to both parties.”
