Proof that Hollywood and conservative Republicans can work together in a productive way: Actor and liberal activist George Clooney appeared with Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas Thursday to call for an end to the ongoing genocide in the Darfur area of Sudan, where in recent years hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or displaced by government troops and allied Janjaweed militia.
Clooney reported that in a recent trip to Sudan, a young girl asked him, “When will you come back? When will you stop this?” When he said “soon,” she replied, “That’s what you always say.”
Brownback added, quoting Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel: “What hurts victims the most is not the cruelty of the oppressor, but the silence of the bystander.”
It’s time for international action to stop this tragedy.

I have always had some reservation about the Untied States acting as the Police of the world. The invasion of Iraq was wrong, Saddam was a bad man there is no doubt, the case to intervene could have been made against most of the Governments of the world even our own. But I temper it with those memorable words: All it take for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing!”.
I can not support Iraq, though I do support the troops. I do support the war in Afghanistan Al-Qaeda was there and was given safe haven by the Taliban that ruled Afghanistan . But some how, when all it said and done if we do not do something to stop genocide when it occurs. We will have lost any right to refer to ourselves as “Good men”.
Lets worry about our own country first. All the “do-good’ers need to do it good here…in the USA!
I had some reservations about Clooney at first, another Hollywood type with a cause. But I saw him on Bill Maher Friday night, and he’s got something to say that we all need to hear. I was impressed with his delivery. He could bear watching.
Brownback should send Darfur a few hundred thousand barrels of oil.
Then BushCo would get interested.

I usually find Brownback annoying and scary, but I’m with him on this one.
I’m also with Brownback on this. In this case we don’t need American troops on the ground; just air support and logistics. Between the African Union and NATO plenty of ground troops can be assembled.
This is the kind of thing the UN was formed to stop…oh wait the UN is a worthless p.o.s. debating society that coddles the kind of thugs that are responsible for this type thing.

This is just what we need. A bunch of bleeding hearts made up of actors, politicians and the wealthy who will con people into bringing these “Poor picked on people” to our country where they can be free, safe and happy.
When you get down to brass tacks, what will happen is that these wealthy few will get a mess of people from a foreign country here and them dump them on those of us that can not afford to deal with them. They will get housing without a problem while AMERICANS that have been put out of work with their jobs being sent overseas and left to rot. They will be given financial aid while AMERICANS that have been put out of work with their jobs being sent overseas, are left to rot. They will be given new furniture, computers, TVs, stereos, iPods, cooking implements and so on, while AMERICANS that have been put out of work with their jobs being sent overseas, are left to rot. They will be given food help, while AMERICANS that have been put out of work with their jobs being sent overseas, are left to rot. They will be given medical help, while AMERICANS that have been put out of work with their jobs being sent overseas, are left to rot.
And do you think these bleeding hearts made up of actors, politicians and the wealthy give a damn about PEOPLE HERE IN AMERICA that need help more then OUTSIDERS do? HELL NO! Americans who’s lives have been torn up by storms and what have you. Americans who’s lives have been torn up by the loss of jobs because the places they worked at found it cost them less to hire workers from other parts of the world that will take a $10 a day pay where an American knows better. Americans who have lost homes and families due to the same loss of jobs.
Plus there is a whole plethora of other problems that need fixing HERE IN AMERICA and these bleeding hearts made up of actors, politicians and the wealthy could give a damn less about them at all! But show them all where they can get their faces plastered all over the media for “Helping” a bunch of people in a third world country that have been fighting each other since God knows when! And they will fall all over themselves to see who can look better and show what a humanitarian they are all at the same time. And it is all for show.
We have all seen this type of thing happen before. Look at the “Boat People” back in the 70s and 80s. They made out like Kings and Queens. And who took the hit and payed for it all? Those that could not afford it. HARD WORKING AMERICANS! Look at the influx of Somalis flooding into this country today. Now. I can already hear a pile of you out there starting to get tuned up. You are going to say something like, “What kind of heartless bitch is this?” “She has no idea what she is talking about.” “She is just a stingy, wealthy woman that does not want to share her wealth.” “She is just a huge bigot that can not stand it if you are not rich and white.”
Nothing could be further from the truth. I am handicapped and live on a miserable $487.00 a month from Social Security Disability (SSI/RSDI) and because of the SSI/RSDI, I am eligible for a great big $81.00 a month in food assistance. This gives me a big fat $568.00 a month to live on. I had to fight tooth and claw to get the section 8 apartment I got 8 years ago and it costs $150.00 a month for rent. I pay $100.00 a month for power, $80.00 a month for the phone and $90.00 a month for medications. This takes $420.00 a month just for bills. This leaves me a disgusting $148.00 a month for food and believe you me, this does NOT go very far.
Yet we have had these Somalis moving into our apartment building. There are 35 apartments in this building and 95% are filled with Somalis. Did they have to fight to get an apartment? Did they need to put their names on a list and wait for a year or two? NOT ON YOUR LIFE! They get one within a week after they apply for one. Everyone else needs to put their names on a list and wait for a year or two. They come in here with nothing and within a week, they walk in with new furniture, computers, TVs, stereos, iPods, cooking implements and so on. They move in without a car of any kind and within a month, they have a new car. And when you confront them about it, they say, “You Government, they give to us.” How disgusting is that? We all work our tails off in one way or another (Yes, I did work at one time.) to get what we want or need. And these freeloaders get it all given to them on a silver platter. Then all they do is bitch how they hate America and Americans. But BOY! Do they just LOVE the money and goodies they get from America and Americans.
As I have told most of you people here on WE Blog before in another posting, I was born Intersexed. Yet any time I pass one of these Somalis in the hall, I get, “You are abomination to Alia! Alia say you should die! You not man, you not woman! You thing! I get chance, I kill you for Alia!”I have a friend that understands their jibber jabber (Do you think they will learn ENGLISH? HELL NO!) and I have asked her to go with me to the Social Security office or the County DSHS office and translate there jibber jabber for me. First off. When I get to either office, it is cram packed with Somalis with their hands out for money from either government. They will point at me and start jabbering and my friend tells me that it is all a variation of “You are abomination to Alia! Alia say you should die! I get chance, I kill you for Alia!” And I have to put up with this junk EACH AND EVERY DAY and not be able to say or do a thing about it!
So yes people! I know exactly what will happen when these bleeding hearts made up of actors, politicians and the wealthy stick their noses in where they DO NOT BELONG! WE WILL BE THE ONES TO PUT UP WITH THEIR “GOOD DEEDS” AND PAY THE FREIGHT FOR THEIR “POOR, PICKED ON PEOPLE.” And truth to tell. I AM SICK OF PAYING! If these bleeding hearts made up of actors, politicians and the wealthy want to help. They can take their OVERPAID, SWOLLEN HEADS AND EGOS over to whatever country that is in fashion this week and help there. JUST KEEP IT OUT OF OUR COUNTRY. WE HAVE OUR OWN PROBLEMS TO ATTEND TO WITHOUT THEM HORNING IN! In fact. WHY DON’T THESE FOOLS HELP HERE IN AMERICA WHERE IT IS NEEDED?
