Another Dubai company, another tricky deal

Are Americans ready to give Dubai a break? The answer will come soon, with President Bush having approved a deal to allow a Dubai-owned company to control nine U.S. plants that make turbine blades for tanks and military aircraft. The company is Dubai International Capital, which is buying British company Doncasters Group. At least this time, Congress has been briefed and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States appears to have handled the review process with care. Maybe in the weeks since the Dubai ports deal collapsed, the White House has figured out how to close this one without looking soft on terrorism.

“Be American…. Buy American…. Made in Dubai”, it does make one wonder just what is the need for Dubai to control something of major important to this country? Ports, defense contractors, why not start out at least small. The maker of ceiling fans, coffee makers, ball point pens? Why must it be something that this country depends on for National security or defense?

Ya know, Dubai got into the ports deal by buying a british company. Same with this deal.

What was that thread about tony blair? Is he getting revenge on the preznit for making him look so bad for supporting the bushwar? :)

…and why are the brits unloading these businesses?

Bush consolation prize for Dubai? He’d sell them Boeing Military if he could get away with it. With the congress we have he could, only the citizens wouldn’t allow it. America’s for sale.

The British are selling out because it costs to much upkeep to run those factories and ports they previously owned here.
