Will more White House staffers depart? Will it matter?

With talk of a White House staff shake-up increasing, John Dickerson of Slate looked back on the staff changes that have already occurred in the administration:
“There have already been so many departures from it that they can be broken up into categories:
– I can’t work here: Colin Powell, Rand Beers, and John Dilulio
– I can’t work here; I’ll tell you why in print: Paul O’Neill, Richard Clarke, Christie Todd Whitman
– My job is done here: George Tenet, Tommy Franks, Paul Bremer
– I can’t work here because I’m going to court: Scooter Libby, Claude Allen, David Safavian
– I can’t work anywhere: Michael Brown.”
Dickerson goes on to argue that if the White House does shake up its staff, it would probably be more of a P.R. move than a sign of significant changes to come.

    GW is history. His poll numbers are in the toilet. He’s got us mired in war abroad and mired in debt at home.

    He’s like the old “scourge of God” from morality plays, the archly evil character who destroys all the other evil characters before he is destroyed himself. You notice that all the people associated with Bush have either been viciously attacked (Paul O’Neill, Richard Clark), disgraced (Colin Powell, Michael “Heck of a Job” Brown) or arrested.

    Our country is getting scourged for electing these bandits to office. The next couple of years is just watching him go down and take his party with him. Hopefully, the Good Lord will be merciful to the rest of us, the ones that did whatever we could to oppose the illegal occupation of the White House by the

    Worst. President. Possible.

    I can tell you from experience that Austin group isnt going anywhere. Rove, Karen Hughes, etc. are the preznits brains, eyes, ears, mouth, etc. He would be nothing without them and they know it…and he knows it too.

    Heheh. This just in. Andrew Card has resigned as the preznit’s chief of staff.

    I said it wouldnt be anyone from the Austin group that left…at least first.

    Hmmm, I guess we forgot the category of “I am tired as hell of you losers and I dont need this crap so please excuse me while I LEAVE…” for Andrew Card.
