Incurious George revealed

John Dickerson of Slate says in this piece that the most troubling aspect of the Bush-Katrina briefing is that Bush did not ask one question. He argues that “the president’s question-free briefing is more than a momentary bad piece of public relations. It’s a blow to a key Bush myth. The Bush management philosophy relies on him as an interrogator. He delegates, but that’s OK because he knows how to question those he empowers to make sure they’re focused. Question-asking is also a central public tool in the ‘trust me’ presidency. We aren’t supposed to worry that the NSA wiretapping program goes too far because the president has asked all the questions. When the president was wrong about the level of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq or the strength of the insurgency, it wasn’t because he didn’t ask enough questions, we have been told, it was because he was given the wrong answers.”

NEWS FLASH: Bush is an idiot and control by others with an agenda who have little concern for this country or its people.

Oh sorry, that was yesterday’s news…sigh!

Watching that tape I had to wonder: Was Bush really there? How could anyone who was not in a blackout not ask questions and have absolutely zero recollection of what was said?

Just wondering how Dubbya can pump millions of dollars a day into Iraq, but can’t release any funds to clean up the gulf coast. Apparently the insurance industry made big donations to the current administration, because no one is standing up for those who lost everything and can’t get what they paid for over many years.

We all better hope that we don’t have a terrable diasaster in our area, that does the damage that Katrina did, because it seems this current government just don’t care.

He was busy think about his next golf game, asking questions meant the meeting would have lasted longer than he wanted it to.

    You still don’t get it.

It didn’t matter what the intelligence said about Iraq, the plan was to invade and if some patchwork intelligence help justify an invasion, well then, that was fine, and if it didn’t, well then fine again, that wasn’t going to stop the invasion.

You’re treating this as though some resemblance of truth was coming out of the White House and simply put; they’re wasn’t.

Israel is directing an invasion and conquest of the Middle East whether you or I like it or not.

And Israel is using the United States military to do it. Read Haaretz everyday, they talk about it openly.

    Maybe then you’ll finally wake-up.

And just think – hurricane season is only 3 months away. And, given that last season lasted 2 months past its “end” this one could come early. New Orleans has already had tornadoes this year.

    And the experiment continues …

Did you see that Texas was already putting mechanisms in place to make sure that homeless evacuees couldn’t vote?

No need for shrub to ask any questions. karl rove and pat robertson will tell him what he thinks.

I guess the White House says not to read too much into one episode, in which the emperor was naked and didn’t have his handlers writing for him, or an ear piece in place!

So, if there was any doubt that Bush really is as lazy, incurious, and, well, clueless as some of us have been crying about in the wilderness for the last six years, I’m thinking that videotape should settle the matter.

There is, however the matter of the 34% for whom no facts about Bush can contradict the myth that’s lodged in their heads. I can already hear Nathan, the one-trick Wingnut pony, asking “what videotaped pre-Katrina briefing?”

Indeed. The only question for me is which of the ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ committed by this President ought to be the basis of impeachment proceedings.

Makes you wonder what’s on the other six tapes they won’t release. Must be a National Security issue, that shouldn’t be revealed to the public.

Ya gotta forgive Georgie. He didn’t want the job.

For him it was to be like the winner of a bass tournament. Show up, pose for pics……etc.

The forces that made him President wanted only for him to preside.

“Preside” to have charge of a meeting or assembly”

He was made to watch…..not act. The action is left to those who made him. They were not there for Katrina. And bush was not meant to address any issue of real importance.

High five Ian. Good post. Now if only someone other than shrub’s minions had some power in the house…or the senate. As is, bush gets a cake walk pass.

I notice that as of Sunday morning, not one post in this thread defends bush. Are even the koolaide drinkers giving up on him?

Where are the bushies here? Your boy needs you to defend him and you are letting him down.

You must be supporting the terrorists if you dont support bush.

    Wow.

It’s lonely here.Right wing never showed up, and the left stopped coming.

On another blog, A conservative posted that “a leader decides what needs to be listened to, and what need not be”

So I guess worrying about wether bh asks questions is sort of silly, since it is well demonstrated he is not interested in answers……or much of anything other that what he thi………I was gonna say thinks. More correctly I guess I should say what he is told to do.
