If she runs, Hillary can expect to be pilloried

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., wasn’t present at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference gathering in Memphis, of course, but nevertheless had a big target on her back. One button bearing her scowling face asserted, “HILL NO, You Won’t Be President.”
Among Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell’s jokes: That Clinton wants to allow ex-felons to vote so “all the Clintons’ former business partners could vote.” That Sharon Stone would play Hillary in a TV movie and that “President Clinton has volunteered to play himself.”
If she runs, stay tuned for much, much more.

While I would have to really dislike her opponent in order to vote for her, it would make for great politics if she does get the nomination. The first serious female presidential candidate in the history of the United States.

If Hillery running for presidemt isn’t such a good idea, then why are the repos so scared. They have turned their “swift boat” – Rove hounds loose on her already and she hasn’t even made it official she even wants to run.Slow down Bushytail tail waggers. You cound be wasting all that energy for nothing.

Sorry, North..dislike for Hillary has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting Bush.

Hillary and her Whitewater scandal are scary. Remember those boxes of files that magically appeared in a closet in the White House residence after being missing for years?

She has some serious baggage..some lingering ethical problems. Has nothing to do with the current resident of the White House at all.

North..you can’t deflect her shortcomings by attacking Bush. That one just ain’t gonna fly.

Well as far as I know Hillary Clinton has not announced that she is running. Her “candidacy” is largely the province of the right wing lie machine that is talk radio. They have been campaigning her (pre- empively perhaps) since their little shrub sprung up.

I think Hillary Clinton would be a fine nominee if she decides to run. Oh and by the way, I don’t think we need advice as to our nominee from folks whose last best offering was a smarmy, stumble strutting, lying, draft dodging, incurious, arrogant, mamas boy, sub par governor that they fronted because of his name and installed in an office he could not win legitimately.

When Clinton carpetbagged New York, that did it for me. I know where she stands.

I don’t care if she runs for President or grows old in the Senate, I don’t care for her any which way.

Finally, something that unites both Republicans and true Democrats–we can do a hill of a lot better than Hillary.

“Hillary and her Whitewater scandal are scary.” Raptor, do ever actually read the news in like a newspaper.

We’ve got 2300 American dead, not including the private contractors and assorted civilians, in Iraq–a war total of a quarter TRILLION and growing . . . and you call “Whitewater” for which no Clinton was ever convicted or even indicted “scary.”

What’s scary are right-wingers like you that have no sense of proportion.

I think that the country is ready to elect a woman for president – but I don’t think that Hillary Clinton is that woman. She has too many skeletons in her closet thanks to Bill. I would rather see Barak Obama would run for president – I think in this case a black man has a better chance of winning than a woman.

Why do (some/many) Republicans hate Hillary so much?

Because -1) she’s smart,2) she used to be a Republican,3) at her core she’s really a big government liberal,4) her husband knew how to co-opt the Republicans’ few good ideas and effectively implement them as workable policies,5) or, are there other reasons???

Personally, I have never understood how she was such a big threat as to warrent the unprecedented hatred she seems to engender in Republicans.

Well it’s really pretty simple Darwin.

She is an intelligent outspoken, opinionated, woman.

That is not to say that Republicans are prejudiced against such women.

It is ok to be a seemingly intelligent outspoken opinionated woman if you are talking about the correct things.

I suspect Repbulicans feel about Hillary much the same as I would feel about say…..Ann Coulter. The difference that Hillary is an actual woman. I suspect Coulter is Newt Gingrich in drag with a lot of makeup.

The right-wing hatred frenzy will be appalling to see if/when Hillary runs for prez. It is like the gay marriage issue. What are the wing nuts so afraid of? The depth of their hatred won’t, of course, stop them from going to church every Sunday and patting themselves on the back for being as religious as they are. Whatta bunch.

They’re in mortal fear of the woman.

XXX,I am in anything but mortal fear of Hillary, but then again, I’m not a wingnut:-)

I agree it will be a dirty fight that will probably backfire on the Republicans should they decide to go through with it, If she gets the nod.

I don’t like Hllary for the reason she waffles with the mood of the country. She has changed her position more times than she has shoes. I think if she runs and wins, we’ll see a she beeyatch, who will stop at nothing to get her way. We’re going through one of those people in the WH now. Don’t need or want another.

Man…some people can dish it out but they sure can’t take it. For months there has been pure, unadulterated hatred of anything associated with the President. Ridiculous accusations of causing a hurricane to being a Nazi because of his grandfather’s bank.

But, a few comments about Hillary, like her Whitewater scandal or her health care debacle, and it is instant whining and accusations of running scared.

    Paybacks are a b***, aren’t they?

  24. Posted March 14, 2006 at 7:51 pm | Permalink

Nice try, Rap, but you failed.

You said that the Whitewater scandal was “scary.”

The scary part was the vengance with which Ken Starr went at them. Susan Macdougal was thrown into a prison with murders because she wouldn’t lie for them.

Meanwhile, President Bush mows ‘em down in Iraq, and he’s not scary at all.

    You’re scary, Raptor . . .

  25. raptor
    Posted March 14, 2006 at 8:55 pm | Permalink

Whitewater itself isn’t scary..the scary part is her participation and her proven disregard for the law is the scary part. The documents, the ‘I don’t recall’, the blatant misuse of the legal process.

GW is quite possibly inept and incompetent..but we all know he doesn’t have the brainpower to be as scheming and coniving as Hillary.

    Posted March 14, 2006 at 9:28 pm | Permalink

Why do republikans keep bringing up Whitewater? As the neocons say “Get over it”. Starr took 3.5 years and wasted over $40 million and the only thing he came up with was that Clinton got a blow job in the oval office. Big deal. If the president getting a hummer is such a major concern to you, then you really need to get a life.

Bill’s skeletons are not Hillary’s. I think she is a very intelligent woman and she would make a fine president. Now do I beleive she has a snowballs chance in hell to get elected, unfortunatly no. But it is nice to imagine that some one as competent as her could get elected.

New York seems very satisfied with her. She reaches out to some folks I really don’t like like Trent Lott and others. But maybe we need more of that…..(did I say that?)

She’s smart is scary? Like having a bumbling idiot has worked out so well!

Rush has really outdone himself with some of you people. OF course, some of the things you would find scary a great many people find sorely needed. Ya know…..like health care for everyone EEEEEK!

    She hasn’t even announced!

Tell ya what is scary….Dick Cheney in fishnet stockings and a leather bustiet with a shotgun!

Real funny rap: “For months there has been pure, unadulterated hatred of anything associated with the President.”

After 8 years of non-stop hate-spew from Rush et.al. you complain about the same thing. As forr your claim “accusations of causing a hurricane” that is simply a lie and you know it. The comments in regards to Katrina had to do with the sorry response by the administration.

There is only one reason why there is a lot of negative publicity whenever Hillary’s name is mentioned in the presidential race. The idea is to spread hate and fear preemptively. Ask Sean Hannity. The conservatives know that she will as formidable running for the white house as she was running for the senate. So the only tactic they have is attack preemptively. All that talk about her being a polarizing figure is a bunch if BS.I mean, can anyone be more polarizing than some of the conservatives themselves? Give me a break! She is the same as she was when she ran for senate and won easily. It is scary that that kind of propaganda might actually work. Remember the swift boat vets. Maybe Hillary should reopen the war room and quick.
