Good thing he’s already through the only poll that counts

The Bush administration needs to catch a break, and I don’t mean another five weeks at the ranch. The latest CBS News poll finds President Bush’s job approval rating at 34 percent, compared with 42 percent in January. And just 18 percent had a favorable view of Vice President Dick Cheney, down from 23 percent in January. There’s some glee to be had here for Democrats, of course, but such numbers will make the road from here to January 2009 very long and bumpy for all of us.

    CrusdaderX:

Forget about the President- It doesn’t look good for us! We are stuck with an administration that lies us down the road to ruin, with the possibility of making the great depression of the thirty’s look like a sunday picnic.

The fact the we were the FIRST attempt to govern “by the people” is coming back to haunt us. In most other governments, private business, and institutions the President would have already been replaced. We desperately need some “vote of confidence” alternative to impeachment, some provision for minority politicians to have a voice, and a super majority vote for Supreme Court Justices as we have for ratifying the less important Treaties.

All the traditional checks and balances have been thwarted- with one more death (Stevens?) on the Supreme Court, even that will be stacked to make legislation and voting meaningless.

We desperately need to have public hearings on Phase II of Sen. Roberts Intelligence Committee. With domestic spying traditionally used to keep dissent in check – including dissenting politicians-(does Bush have something on Sen. Roberts that prevents him from holding those hearings?http://tinyurl.com/frr5m ) and new evidence that the REAL NIE (National Intelligence Estimate) fully predicted the Iraqi insurgency (http://tinyurl.com/h627g), we need to know that intelligence is being used to further OUR, and not the President’s bankrupting agenda.

We have spent over 1 Trillion dollars doing al Qeada’s work- recruiting and training terrorists. At this rate enough damage could be done before Bush’s term expires by starting World War III with Iran (again using our tax dollars to misrepresent the situation and beat the drums of war) to have us emulate the USSR meltdown. We are in some deep doodoo.

It seems that this subject has been beaten to death. I could argue that, with the mainstream media’s constant focus on anything negative, the Democrats constant attacks, misrepresentations and outright lies, plus the cost of the Iraq war, it’s a wonder that Bush’s numbers aren’t worse. But then we would get the same tired counter-arguments we have always heard.

I think that the fact is that everyone starts to wear thin after a number of years, including a president. There are exceptions when the president is extremely personable (such as Ronaldus Maximus Reagan). Bill Clinton would have been that way too, but for Monicagate.

The saving grace for Republicans is that the Democrats have only criticism to offer, but no answers.

“(National Intelligence Estimate) fully predicted the Iraqi insurgency”

Does it really matter if they did or not? I remember thinking at the end of Gulf-War-I that we should go up and finish the deal, rather than leave a festering sore. The reason we did not go was the GHW Bush full well knew that post-Saddam period would be a disaster. He was right, wouldn’t you say?

GW Bush wanted to believe in a flowers & peaches post-Saddam period. Even though this was a view contrary to all possessing some degree of rational thought. With this president, what others predict has no bearing on policy, decisions, etc. He is our CEO president. Ever wonder what they teach those dumb f*cks in the Harvard business school?

The only thing the CBS poll shows is that they are willing to publish a bogus poll to get attention for themselves. They are making up questions that lead to a specific answer so they can again slander the President for their own ratings. This is such a typical Bushhater tactic it reeks. This isn’t going to have any effect against Bush and it just show how pathetic the media is and you crybaby Bush Bashers are. Bush is the best president yet, you’re so full of hate and yourselves you don’t get it.

I love it–polling is a long established statistical study that follows well-known protocals.

You didn’t hear the right-wingers complaining about the polls after 9-11 when Bush’s approval was up in the 90’s.

But listen to Rachel and Get It whine now! The polls are “manipulated:” they don’t take representative samples, they ask misleading questions and on and on.

Face it. Your guy is tanking because of his misleading statements (lies) and his rotten policies.

We’ve got never-ending war in Iraq, a situation that’s clearly getting worse not better the longer we’re there. We’ve got falling wages ever since Bush took office. We’ve got rising poverty since Bush took office, rising national deficit, rising national debt, rampant Republican corruption, meanspirited revenge against political opponents (Valerie Plame & Joe Wilson), unconcern bordering on criminal negligence in watching Katrina destroy New Orleans, and two horrible terrorist attacks (9-11 and the anthrax letters) for which the perpetrators were never caught.

The polls are right. It’s you that are wrong.

But the phrase “Stuck on Stupid” was coined for you JR, cause that what you are.Proudlip, the polls are suppose to be real, the CBS Poll was a farce, and the rest of media is even stating how badly it was done. Funny that, Get Lost, because CBS’s results were essentially supported by Fox News at 39 percent approval http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,186634,00.html and CNN at 38 percent approval http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/03/02/thursday/index.html.

It would be great to impeach shrub but anyone who replaces him probably wouldn’t be much better.

Republican Congressman Ron Paul has gone on record with his prediction that the impeachment of George W. Bush is right around the corner but warned that in the meantime the US was slipping perilously close to a dictatorship.

Appearing on the Alex Jones Show and addressing the port sell-out, Paul stated that, “it probably will contribute to the Republican’s failure in the next election.”

Asked if the Democrats would use gains in the mid-term elections to set in motion impeachment proceedings against George W. Bush, Paul responded,

    “I predict that would happen.”

“I think he (Bush) has numerous things that the Democrats if they get a chance, not only will they be after him for that but it will be payback for the Clinton impeachment.”

Paul was inclined to believe that the port sales would go ahead anyway but took a positive perspective in pointing out that it again highlighted George W. Bush’s complete abandonment of conservative principles.

At least this has awakened a lot of people and I think this is going to serve as a benefit,” said Paul. “They’re likely to pull this deal off but the American people are awakening now and I think there’s going to be a payback period in the election.”

The Congressman expressed his resignation at the passage of the Patriot Act and how it again underscores Bush’s unchecked powers

“They had a few token changes which mean nothing and under the present system he (President Bush) just ignores what he doesn’t like anyway.”

Asked if the US was heading into a dictatorship, Paul responded,

“It’s getting close to it, it’s called usurpation of power and it’s done in many ways with Congress just going along because they’re sound asleep and this certainly is an attack on our Constitution and on our freedoms.”http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/march2006/030306bushimpeachment.htm

Sorry Hankathan. I won’t make a bet on it. That ANY American continues to slavishly support bush makes me doubt the sanity of that small but not insignificant number of people.

Get it you just can’t get it enough can ya?

Before I go on, I do want to applaud you your political interest Getit. I do remember you saying you were young and It is good that a young person is interested in politics.

But now I gotta take the gloves off. You aint gonna earn your spurs here with ad hominem attacks on me.

First off, the “stuck on stupid” crack is a direct lift from Rush Limbaugh. If you were more frequent here, you’d know I listen to the guy and I see his words spouted from other conservative posters here. Now make no mistake and take some solace in knowing that you are far from alone. Rush also provides the talking points for Hank/nathan. Other conservative posters here are of a Hannity or Boortz bent. But I out them too.

Ok. Maye I can save you from them and yourself.

The PRIMARY job of the President is the security of the American people.

Now I don’t know where you come down on the Dubai ports deal “getit” Maybe you are with Rush and O’Reilly and all for it. Maybe Hannity and Savage have you wondering about the idea. ( See I know the “enemy”)

But even though you question polls, I don’t think you can deny that there is an honest concern about this port deal. It divides your own talkmasters. Further, I don’t think there is any way to skew a poll to show a 70% disapproval on this.

Still with me? Now the port deal speaks to national security. When confronted with the difficulties and troubles of this deal, bush threatened veto of any delay of that deal. Since then, he claims ignorance of the transaction, but stands by his stubborn defense of it.

Let me break that down for ya “getit” That equals the president says; “I want this, I don’t know much about this but I want it. I will use all my power to make it happen. It does not interest me that most of America and large numbers of my own political party are concerned that this deal is a THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY. This is what I want and I will do what I must to make it so.”

So getit and “Nathan” that posturing by bush WOULD, among a great many other reasons, call for the beginning of impeachment preceedings.

Now on another thread I called for you unapologetic bushies to either fight to get this guy declared emperor or shut up. I repeat that call.

A President is not above the law. You righties spent a lot of time and taxpayer money cornering Clinton on that. YOu got your impeachment for himand who knows how much that distracted him from his job.

Now you made bush and he made this mess. Accountability anyone?

(and hopefully impeachment).Bush and his criminal, negligent, or incompetent lackeys have allowed their big business buddies th steal damn near everything that isn’t nailed down, led us into an illegal slaughter of innocents, and lied their nasty asses off. The GOP sold out it’s principals for power, and then abused it.

JR, you just waffle from one delusion to another. I have never said anything to indicate my age, that’s just another one of your delusions. Your delusion that the President will be impeached isn’t going to happen as I have said before. Here’s why: grounds for impeachment is defined in the US Constitution in Article II Section 4. Those grounds are for conviction of treason, bribery or high crimes and misdemeanors. Partisan Democratic discord that “Bush lied” is not grounds for impeachment. The impeachment process itself is the main reason it will never happen. As defined again in the Constitution Article I sections 2 and 3, there is a two step process.1. There has to be a formal accusation by a majority vote of the House of Representatives, that will never happen. 2. A trial and conviction by the Senate is required by a two thirds vote. That will never happen. Now do you get it? Impeachment will not happen. The President has not done anything that warrants impeachment, and no matter what you claim it’s just not going to happen. As I said, the CBS poll was bogus, the Fox one had higher numbers for the President but the interesting part of that poll was the people who trust the democrats was even lower than those that trust the president and OJ’s. People don’t trust the president but they trust the Democrats even less, and that no delusion. As far as the Dubai issues, the deal will go through, but we end up with better port security and that’s what’s important. I find it interesting that Bill Clinton is advising the UAE on how to get approval to buy the ports while Bitch Clinton is screeching this is treason and selling out our security and threatening to propose legislation to stop the deal, which is what Bush said he would veto. But here’s how it will happen, Republican’s will propose bill that will increase the port security, and the President will sign it. Meanwhile the Democrats will screech that it not good enough and all vote against it and try to make an issue out if it in the election. But like the supreme court hearing, it will leave the Democrats looking stupid.Yes the phrase “Stuck on Stupid” is Russ Limbaugh’s. But it suits you so well. Keep in mind, he has millions of listener that agree with him, you have what, half a dozen other bush bashing crybabies in a blog run by a liberal newspaper in the middle of a red state. Boy that’s got a lot of impact. Now go put your gloves back on JR, before you hurt yourself. And take your delusion drugs, some day they will find a cure for being a liberal.
