Check out Slate legal writer Dahlia Lithwick’s updated take on the Kansas sex reporting trial follies. She notes that “over a two-week trial, four government officials have now offered five different interpretations of what abusive sex is in Kansas, and even that definition changes with time.”
Why trust Kline and Co. to step in and determine when abuse has occurred when they can’t seem to agree among themselves?

“Perversion is the one thing you will not do”, though this can be taken as you should not do perversion. The general take is that each person has in mind what is perverse and what is not. For some it is anything outside of sex for the purpose of having children. Oral sex ( only if it is male on female) is considered perverse by some. The problem is that society has outgrown basic instinct when it comes to sex. When the average life expectance was forty five, a girl was considered an “old maid” (i.e. having started a family by then) if she was not married by eighteen. It was part of the survival of the species, in your twenties was middle aged.
Our bodies still run on that clock, so a young teen has that base instinct to be sexually active. Society though has grown and such things are not thought of as needed. What Kline is doing is apples to oranges and a broad sweep. Lets make everything considered immoral illegal and then pick those we find offensive against the law. This is the wrong front to be fighting this battle on, when the General in charge set the standard by Gods law but those fighting it are short of the glory of God. Morality and the law is based on reason Mr. Kline not on an individual’s understanding of it. Since everyone has their own take on both, society must depend on reason to come to that middle ground.
Remember when you were Children or Teenagers growing up, Most all of us expermented, that has not changed; Children (ie)Teenagers today experment also. This should not be reported or against the law, Let our kids be kids just like we were. And while we are at it Lets pass a law that lets the Parents be parents again so they can correct their kids without the fear of being punished for doing so. Making your child mind is not Child Abuse, the government telling us how to raise our kids is Child Abuse.
I don’t think anyone would disagree with the fact that teenage sex is risky and can cause great harm, but taking legal steps to try and stop it is just unrealistic and unenforceable. The system is already overloaded with real child abuse reports, a foster care system that is bursting at the seams, the neglect of our elderly, and all the rest of societies problems. Let parents take responsibility for keeping their teens in line, that’s their job. The govenment can’t be an effective parent, and SRS workers don’t have the time.
I have to agree with Randy; this whole court proceeding has degenerated into an absurd farce! The varied pronouncements of the officials involved in it tell us volumes about their particular hang-ups, while shedding no light and a lot of smoke on the subject of teen sex.Judge Martin has been more than patient with these adult adolescents. Now it’s time to send them to their separate beds without supper!
There just doesn’t seem to be any limit on ways our state leaders can find to humiliate us. I think I’ll start a business selling chastity belts. Then I can lobby our legislature to pass a law saying any girl under the age of 20 has to wear one. That would satisfy our demands for “morality” and extend the AG’s habit of making girls responsible.
XXX,You are misunderstanding our emminent AG. He doesn’t want to stop teen sex, he wants to read about it! What do you think all that reporting is about?
Exposing your children to MTV and public education is child abuse.
V.L.R.B!!
Exposing your children to the Attorney General is child porn.
Exposing your children to “reason” in Kansas is a real chore.
Exposing the Attorney General to common sense is an effort in futility.
Intelligent design, sex and Kansas seem to have a parallel association. Not in a valid way, mind you, but in a way that keeps the nation in a state of jocularity. I know it keeps me laughing.
HEY EVERYBODY! I FOUND OUT JOHN MALKOVICH AND TRUTHREGARDLESS IS REALLY IAN HIMSELF! HAHAHAHA!!
More sex shenanigans. How about God’s right-hand man Sam?
“Kansas Senator Sam Brownback – who equates pornography with crack cocaine – accepted $17,000 from porn peddlers.”
Yes, we can always look to Sam for moral guidance.

Exposing your children to Kansas is cruel punishment enough.
Never a dull moment in Kansasistan!
Early Warning Signs: Does your child show an interest in Playing Doctor. Does your child want to Play House. Does your teenager want privacy. If you answere yes, your child is at risk!
All of you blogheads can shut up! Obviously Phil gets off from telling teens what they can and can’t do sexually! Didn’t you know he’s a closet sado-masochist?Once he accomplishes abolishing sex in Kansas, he’s gonna throw an all-male orgy extravaganza bash at his house to celebrate his victory! Esteemed guests will include Senator Brownback Mountain to take a complimentary shit on Phill’s chest!ROTFLMAO!!!
CrusaderX,My lonely friend. Don’t forget the Holy Trinity: Ian, John, and Truth. Be nice to them, for you know not what you are doing. Go in peace to the summit of Mt. Pinatubo and eviscerate a Caucasian virgin. Sing chants to your other god, Ashaka. Then you will have an epiphany.

Viva La Raza Blanco!!
Oh how could I forget? Ian and his many schizophrenic personalities will also be attending in the Sheister party at Phills. :)ROTFLMAO!!!
Hidalgo,
You done got affirmative action boy all riled up! lol
Viva La Raza Blanco!!
Ha! You wish you were that important.
Ian,Shouldn’t it be Viva La Raza BLANCA, with an “a” at the end?
Truthregardless,I think people with multiple personality disorders should be able to get a minority scholarship. What do you think?
Hidalgo,I agree. What do you think, Ian?
Actually, they are both correct. The “O” is generally male, the “A” generally female. Being as Ian’s sexual orientation is in dispute, I would think the “O” would suffice.Either that, or just “Viva La Raza Blanc!”
Mother,I don’t think so. The adjectival ending has to agree with the gender of the noun it modifies. Raza is feminine. In any case, Ian probably doesn’t know any Spanish. He probably lives in Montana in a white supremacist camp.
