More handicapping of Brownback

Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., stirred up the 2008 debate a bit with his recent C-SPAN interview, especially his comments that if he decides to run, he will jump in early, and that he wants “to renew the society and renew the culture.” Observers seem to think his chances are best in Iowa, iffy beyond. National Review’s John J. Miller said Brownback needs to court economic conservatives in 2006, suggesting that a “better-than-expected showing in the primaries could catapult him to the top of many vice presidential short lists.” Check out the lively discussion of Brownback’s record and prospects on a Washington Post blog.

Now would that be the culture of corruption that the current administration has fostered, or the society that hates and persecutes people with different beliefs or values?

If he can pronounce big words, that puts him one up on the current prez.

Forget it. This guy is a loser even among conservatives.

    Not gonna happen.

Galen,I think the question of Brownback V. Hillary would decide many conservatives in favor of Brownback, at least those who didn’t explode from having to make such a choice!

Jed..Yes, I would have to vote for Brownback over Hillary. Of course I would have to vote for ANYONE over Hillary. Well… maybe not Pat Robertson :(Democrats AND Republicans.. please please please give me someone to at least consider in 2008. I am so tired of voting for the candidate I despise the least.

CF has pointed out that corporate media has annointed Hillary “front runner.”

Nobody else has. She has astronomically high negative numbers among Republicans but has negatives AMONG DEMOCRATS TOO.

Saying “our guy is better than Hillary” is following the script–it doesn’t reflect the reality of what the American people want.

    P.L.

Recent history proves that Americans don’t always get what they want.

Abramoff would just LOVE to see Brownback get in. Then he could get a presidential pardon; that is if Bush doesn’t pardon him first.
