KSNW right to reverse decision

Having criticized KSNW, Channel 3, on this blog for pulling “The Book of Daniel” from tonight’s lineup, I’m happy to praise the station now for thinking better of that decision. Officials have decided to put the series’ two-hour premiere back on the schedule for 8 tonight, then make a decision about continuing the series once viewer reaction comes in.
That’s the preferred way to handle a controversial show — by paying attention to reaction from people who’ve actually seen it, rather than prevent anyone from seeing it.

Now if they will all ban Survivor, Fear Factor, Home Improvement shows, Desperate Housewives …

Thank whomever that the once gutless wonders at Ch. 3 have come to their senses and quit letting a pack of yapping religious yahoos in Missisippi do their thinking for them.

We all know what the iron curtain was, and I heard someone in east Texas say she was raised behind the pine curtain, but I never heard anyone say anything about the christian taliban curtain in Ks. Thankfully KSNW decided not to hide behind it.

But that does raise a question, did KSNW at first just automatically say “yes sir, yes sir, three bags full” when Terry and Joe came a callin’? Did they even bother asking anyone else? That is the way it works behind the kansas taliban curtain I guess. Dont let people think for themselves, the church has already decided it for you. Thank you KSNW for at least giving us the freedom to turn off the tube on our own.

Given a month, could even NBC create a buzz for Daniel like the Rev. Fox and his Mississippians have in just one day?

Daniel in the Wichita viewing area: talk about debuting with a bullet.

Speaking of handguns, I guess “unholster, fire, bandage foot” may not be solely in the realm of Democrats after all. ;)

Gotta hand it to KSN for “seeing the light” and not kowtowing to a rabid fringe minority.

Now…that show should have extremely high ratings tonight, yes? Gotta love the irony.. the fringe zealots try to keep people from seeing something..and the result is a higher rating and more people watching.

Who can stand to watch the crap on network tv? Ten minutes of inane drivel punctuated with endless commercials–”ask your doctor about Alomtrex.” What the hell is Alomtrex?

By the time the show comes back on, you can’t remember what you were watching.

I swear if you concentrate while you’re watching, you can actually hear yourself getting dumber.

Makes you wonder how much money Pastor Fox received for the advertising?Gee, I am a Christian and I do not see it as an attack on my faith… Of course I know that Christians are not perfect. Maybe Fox just did not want anyone else to know!

I predict a short run for the series. Some of it is good but I think it’s just too much. I don’t think it is anti-Christian in any way at all; however I just don’t think it will hold the ratings.

I find the dialogue to be really strained…still, it would have been fun to have if 3 would have stuck with their original decision:)

I watched the whole show tonight. I consider myself a follower of Christ’s teachings. After the show, I read the paper – just about gagged when I read the Fox state that “most people” in the country would find the show offensive, and “especially in Kansas”. Is anybody else getting really tired of Fox’s telling us what we think? Yes, I know – stupid question. As far as the show goes, I thought it showed a person with a great relationship with Christ, and I think that if people saw Jesus as this show portrays him (caring, loving, non-judgemental, supportive, etc.) more people might turn to his teachings. Couldn’t have that – might not agree with the Fox’s teachings. Oh, and heaven forbid it show Christians as humans. One last point – it did seem to me that the show pointed some fingers at church hierarchy. Maybe that’s what has got the Fox and Hound all in a tizz.

Gee, I enjoyed it. I must not have the refined tastes of some of my fellow bloggers. The commercials were a little over the top. I don’t watch much TV and I almost never watch Network…guess I just didn’t realize there were so many commercials.

I didn’t see it as a slap in the face of Christianity, but I’m not an Evangelical. It’ll be interesting to hear their take on it.

I am glad that KSN reconsidered. I think it could have been accurately sub-titled: Desperate Housewives of the Partially Religious.

I will likely watch it next week. But, it was pretty much of a yawn.

Network television is boring these days.

Sum1 but it did, the son and sister-inlaw were homosexual, the brother-inlaw, sister-inlaw and the sister’s female lover were having a three-some and it could be argued that the daughter was gambling with her future LoL.

I too wonder what the response of the local R.R. will be?

I knew a priest who fathered a child with one of his parishoners; two homosexual who priests who got arrested for soliciting in the park and later both died from aids; and a priest who got his exotic dancer girlfriend pregnant, then paid for her abortion. From what I’ve heard, the show is probably based more on clergy reality than fiction.

Didn’t “the Rev” Jesse Jackson father at least one child out of wedlock? Didn’t Jimmy Baker go to prison for fraud? Gee…some “religious leaders” are human, after all.

Except, of course, SENIOR Pastor Terry Fox..he is perfect. If you don’t believe me, just ask him!

At the same time, tho, don’t forget to ask him about his lying to a police officer to try to get our of a speeding ticket…

I wasn’t planning on watching the show until all of the controversy about it. I ended up watching the full 2 hours last night and I really enjoyed it.

It is nice to see a show that shows both the good and bad of every walk of life. The main character Daniel seems to have a great relationship with Jesus. His relationship with his family seems good as well. Granted they are a very dysfunctional family, but who’s isn’t.

Actually Jesse Jackson has fathered all of his children in wedlock. Only problem is one of the children was to a woman who wasn’t his wife at the time. (LMAO)

I will never understand why anyone listens to Fox (or Wright). On almost every cause the dumb@$$ duo take up they screw up something. Think back to the gay marriage ban. While this was occurring we knew (and so did our elected morons) that the school finance problem had to be addressed that term. But the idiots in charge listened to Dumb and Dumber and gay marriage was given the priority. Then when they had to have an extra session to resolve the school finance issue those morons cried like little babies!! YOU IDIOTS HAD A CHOICE AND MADE THE WRONG ONE!!! I don’t want to listen to you whining.

Someday Wichita will wake up and stop giving Fox (and Wright) any attention.

I might mention while I have an opinion on this subject I dont’ myself watch television.

All this controversy makes me think I just might tune in on this one.

Another opinion of mine is if the religious right watched less television they might have a better perspective on the world around them.

Terry has a problem with reality. I can see that, I just wish he would go after the the reality shows instead (but they’re not really reality).

Personally I think this is just a publicity stunt. Terry wants all of the attention he can get, it feeds his ego. A year or so ago when the gay marrige crap was going on Terry was on a Faux talk show (Hardball I think). Talk about loser. The final question he was asked was “Do you believe everything that is in the bible?” He beat around the bush and was asked the question 3 times before he finally said he did. If he really did believe he would have said yes from the start. He doesn’t even believe the crap he is pushing.

I think you hit the nail on the head, K. Terry is an narcissist who loves the publicity and power because it feeds his sense of self importance. He’s as interested in trying to make the world a better place as he is getting his face on TV and in the paper.

Someone said here that Terry and Fred are really the same person. Kinda like Frank Zappa and Leon Redbone. Has anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

You know the old saying, I dont care what you say about me, just spell my name right. Did the donations go up this week Terry? Did ya split the loot with KSNW? Has anyone yet checked his IRS status?

Money is the only language they know. “Cha ching. Praise god and pass the publicity, I need two helpings today.” Thus sayeth the Revs Terry, Joe and Fred.
