Don’t let the prison door hit you on your way in

Former Westar Energy CEO David Wittig got what he deserved Tuesday when he was sent to federal prison. Wittig has already been convicted of looting Westar and of conspiracy, bank fraud and money laundering in an unrelated scheme. But he was out of prison while awaiting an appeal. Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson said that numerous financial transactions by Wittig and his wife, which appeared to be aimed at shifting and hiding Wittig’s assets, were made without the court’s approval, a violation of the terms of his release. Will this guy never learn?

They should stick him in a REAL prison with some REALLY ugly cellmates. I’m sure they would take real good care of him.

He was trying to hide millions of dollars of his assests by shoving them into his wife’s accounts. I guess he thought the federal prosecutors wouldn’t notice. He is not very smart, and he has no shame.

About time. Now what about Wittig’s partner, Mr. Lake? Also what about members of WESTAR’s board of directors who let this situation happen? And names of private individuals who traveled on WESTAR’s jet plane at expense of ratepayers and/or stockholders.

Galahad, may I add something to that?

“When a utility executive questioned why he was contributing to Republican congressional candidates he had never heard of, the answer came back loud and clear: The donations were requested by GOP leaders who were helping the company win an exemption potentially worth billions of dollars.

Financially strapped Westar Energy was seeking “a seat at the table” of a House-Senate conference committee on the Bush administration’s energy plan”

“Key Republicans, including House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, denied on Thursday there was any connection between the exemption and donations which amounted to tens of thousands of dollars from the Topeka, Kan., conglomerate and its executives.”

Because you were right. I scrolled through past posts and sure enough they were posting within minutes of each other 90 percent of the time.

A lot of it was that “zionists taking over the world” line, which now I’m not sure that Ed/Ian actually believes.

Galahad, Ed DID NOT say blacks in New Orleans drown because they couldn’t swim with all the chains they stole. He said “prisoners”. Are you saying “prisoners” = “blacks”?

“Who does that sound like, XXX?”

    Not who, but WHAT.

What it sounds like is, you made a mistake that calls a man’s integrity into question. In polite circles, that would require an apoligy.

If not a mistake, a liblous slander, which would demand an apoligy.

If not a mistake or a slander, an outright lie. Liars don’t apoligize.

That wasn’t what we were talking about at all, Galahad. Black had nothing to do with the discussion. You’re out of context.

To assume prisoners were obviously black is pretty racist. You made an accusation you can’t back up.

That makes you a racist and a liar.

He got sloppy and started posting using both his aliases back to back. That’s when it became obvious.

My alleged pomposity and ego have nothing to do with that fact.

I hope I never have federal charges against me; I would so much rather have to face State charges. The Feds have all the time and money in the world and it does not bother them to grind you into the ground like you are a bug.

The apparent fact that Witting did not catch on to this does not say anything good about his brains.

I recall seeing in the Eagle many years ago, two crime stories which were next to each other. The first one was a in-home care-taker who was involuntarily chemically restraining the woman whom she was supposed to care for. A woman who apparently did not in any way need this type of restraint. This went on for over a year. The perp in this case got 6 months of probation.

Next to the above story, a bank employee embezzeled $1,000 from a bank – she was sentenced to do 3 years in federal prison. Hers was not a crime of violence, but her victim was a lot more powerful than the victim above.

    Justice in America.

Off Topic:I posted on a different thread:

“Hank and Nathan were busted because they are the only two people who would sign their name in their post. A Post showed up with either a Nathan or Hank in the post and a “posted by: the other” outside of it. That was convincing evidence of trollism.”

Recall that Nathan did not sound much like Hank at all. Nathan would do that bit of “provide some proof for your claims” like “how can you be sure that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow – prove it.” That was about his only song and one I am sure he acquired from “Rush Limbaugh’s bag of tricks in annoying Liberals.”

Hank and esod have similar ideologies, but I contend they write differently and I suspect that Hank has more education, though he does have some consistent trouble with vowels and spelling. Never seen these things with esod. Can’t rule it out, but I don’t think they are the same people.

I have followed some of the links that Ed is especially proud of, they are the same type of rants that appear here, but are posted on internet versions of english langange arab newspapers. They list his home town in Texas. I don’t agree with Ed’s positions and have told him my reasons. I think he holds his near-delusions on the basis of sincerity, rather than trollism. I believe Ian is a white-supremacy jerk and if he wasn’t so annoying I’m sure I could pity him. Can’t rule it out, but I believe Ed and Ian are not the same people.

Steven E, Nathan is Hank’s son. I may not be the brightest on the blog, but I’m a master of detail. I caught it long before I exposed it because of a slip Damoon made. She knows both of them. I didn’t expose it till I had proof. Nathan posted on his dad’s computer and Hank didn’t check the email address before he posted. Hence, Hank’s signature and Nathan’s email address. They’re not one and the same. But the post by esod that triggered the Hank/esod theroy was strange. esod started a post with “gentle people”. That was a Hank favorite. Other than that, they don’t sound much alike.

But it’s kind of specious to be trading accusations about using different names. It goes on here and one of the loudest accusers has posted under a multitude of names.
