Comeback for the ‘I’ word?

Democrats can barely hide their disappointment at how little outrage Americans are showing over the White House’s warrantless wiretapping, which nevertheless is about to get a needed going-over in Congress. But a Zogby International poll this month found that a considerable “52 percent of American adults thought Congress should consider impeaching Bush if he wiretapped U.S. citizens without court approval, including 59 percent of independents and 23 percent of Republicans,” according to a Knight Ridder Newspapers article about the “I” word. Considering that George W. Bush won re-election with 51 percent, such a number could mess up Karl Rove’s sleep for a while.

Depends on how they ask the question. But his so called “domestic spying” or “warrentless wiretaping” is another talking point. He is gathering foriegn intelligence. He is not spying on grandma or you. They are intercepting calls coming in from outside the USA from known terrorist suspects. This has been approved by the FISA courts.

What more does that say. If you are against this, then you are somehow want to help the enemy of our country. It doesn’t make sense to be against what the administration is doing, unless you are a Bush hater, that is the only explaination, although it is not rational.

Joe I’d sure like to know where you get info about who they looking at. You don’t have any idea who they look at. THAT’S WHY THEY CALL IT SPYING.

Tracy. They are not looking at anybody. They are listening to phone conversations. Yeah! Spying on the enemy sounds like a good idea to me.

    You want another 9/11?

I totally support the idea of maintaining surveillence on suspected terrorists. But, I cannot support how it has been done illegally–without court orders. We have a system of checks and balances to prevent this type of illegal abuses.

Ray! Is it illegal abuse what the President is doing? It did go through the FISA court for approval.

Unless somebody can prove it is illegal, I considered it justified and legal.

I don’t think anyone has an issue with spying on suspected terrorists. It’s the way they went about it. The potetional for abuse is just to great when officals are allowed to engage in this sort of activity without the checks and balances in place. Don’t you remember Watergate, Joe, or were you even born yet?I think the reason Americans aren’t outraged is because we are all so burned out on the problems this administration has brought to our country. It’s just more of the same crap that has been going on since Dubya took office. We’re all TIRED, and I know I’m just counting the days until he’s out of office and can do no more harm. I just hope the democrats can come up with an electable candidate. But anything would be better than the Bush/Cheney fiasco.

I think Karl Rove sleeps just fine as long as the House of Representitives remains dominated by republicans. No danger of impeachment even IF they found a live boy or a dead girl in his bed. Or a hammered kitten…

Oh yes, by all means impeach Bush so we can have an even more corrupt and degraded shabbos goy in Cheney at the helm. rotflmosao

Scum like Bush and Clinton are interchangeable parts in a thoroughly rotten and hopelessly corrupt system.

Meanwhile, potty-training my son is like dealing with post-9/11 liberals. No matter how much patient educating and explaining you do to convince them to take responsibility for their actions and prevent future disasters, the end result is always the same: soiled pants.-Michele Malkin

I have a 3 year old son and found this quite funny. Thought you might as well.

    Heckler,

Funny, since, from 9/11 onward, it’s been the Right crapping itself every chance it gets.

I see now bush’s clever plan to avoid impeachment. “Let’s see, who would they fear more than me…hmm…uh…Colin, no…James Baker…no…..wait…I got it! Uncle Dick Cheney! Yeaaaaahhhh, that’s the ticket.”

Damn, maybe shrub, er, Karl, was smarter than we thought.
