Such a thing as too many torture bans?

Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Goddard, explained his vote last week against the House version of the McCain anti-torture measure this way, as quoted in The New York Times: “It’s absolutely unnecessary” — because existing laws already prohibit torture, he said. But the legislation won 308 votes in the House and 90 in the Senate — meaning the vast majority of lawmakers think the need to stand firmly against torture trumps the need to avoid redundancy. And, of course, Tiahrt doesn’t apply the same thinking to gay marriage; it’s already against the law, yet he’s a co-sponsor of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would ban it again.

Tiahrt is a hypocrite, plain and simple. He is also so arrogant as to think that these inconsistencies won’t be remembered by the voters.

Actually, it has nothing to do with hyprocrasy, but everything to do with getting re-elected. Hmmm . . . maybe it does.

Well maybe it’s because liberal activist courts (see Circus, 9th) are trying to make Gay marriage legal. Tried to look up the Let’s Make Torture Legal bill running through Congress. Couldn’t find it. Tiahrt’s right. Rhonda and her fellow libs and McCainiacs are wrong.

Tiahrt is intellectually challenged. Concepts like “redundancy”, “consistency”, way too abstract for him.

Let me help you Rhonda. You do it like this.

“Toddly – marriage ban – done already!” “torture ban – needs to be done again!”

If you give him the above messages wrapped in a few thousand dollars – he’ll hear you.

It’s funny that Mr Tiahrt won’t support a bill that outlaws torture but claims to be a Christian where’s the family values in that

Tiahrt is nothing more than a political hack. What is right/wrong or good/bad means nothing to him. He simply looks at what the party wants him to do and that is his vote. He really doesn’t need to be in Washington at all, just automaticly count a vote for what the far right republican party wants each time it’s his turn to vote.

Tiahrt tortures Kansas – he just smiles nice, and lies through his teeth.

First Todd lets Boeing move it’s mod center from Wichita to China!

Now Wichita Engineering jobs are shipped to Moscow.

This kills Kansans, jobs, and the economy. Resulting in a lower standard of living for everyone and higher crime rates.

Then he approves the sale of the Boeing plant to a foriegn company from Canada.

Kansas is only as good as the jobs we have here. He has sold us OUT!

    Tiahrt tortures Kansans every day!

Tiahrt’s loyalty is to his ultraconservative buddies in Washington; we voters are just the suckers that he plays so he can hobnob with the big boys. He’s obviously not smart enough to pay attention to his constituency, so it won’t be long now.

It gets worse Joe. Because Tiahrt has so slavishly supported Boeing any chance Wichita might have had for landing Airbus manufacturing was lost. If we are lucky perhaps Spirit can salvage some of that.

By the way, whatever happened to all those tanker jobs “Tanker Todd” promised?

I noticed also, that when Glickman’s solution to the legal problems Cessna faced with small plane liability finally came through, Cessna moved the small plane production out of the district. I’ll always wonder what candidate Tiahrt offered them to do that!

Tiahrt needs to look at the website: http://www.witnesstorture.org/image/tid/12He also needs to answer one questions: Why won’t the government let press people into Guantánamo to see what is really going on. “No torture?” yeah right.

Todd is a toad and there are too many ignorant republikans and mindless, apathetic zombies that he will probably not get defeated in the next election. He has done this since he was first elected and will continue to do so. His first priority is the GOP and not his constituents.
